Chapter 25 - Chaos Part1

The two guys wordlessly stared at the puppy standing in front of them or rather the dog standing in front of them.

The small puppy was somehow an adult dog now and she was about 15 inches in height.

And it was not simply just the height and weight, but also the look in her eyes was different, with a majestic lycan aura surrounding her.

Her pure snow white fur had a grayish tinge and only remained white on the legs, underbelly part, and some areas of the neck and face.

And to make matters worse, the dog's mouth was smeared with blood. From how it looked, she had chewed and torn away flesh and bones from the neck of the corpse lying on the floor.

Both Su Yan and Lu Chen might have mistaken Qin Hua for some other mutated dog if not for her right eye shining like an emerald while her left eye brilliant blue in color.

"Little White?" Su Yan called and hurried over to check on the dog. She looked friendly enough and did not possess any maddened craze so he didn't think too much before dashing towards her.

While he checked on the dog, Lu Chen's eyes caught something white and shiny lying on the floor, inside the corpse's head, half-exposed and half-hidden.

He walked closer towards it and picked it up, tearing it away from the flesh. He had barely held it in his hand for a second when the orb started slowly disappearing.

It evaporated, the invisible fumes entering his own body. Lu Chen felt a cool sensation pervading his body as well as a weird strength and vigor.

"Dude." He shouted calling for Su Yan's attention, who was now much more relaxed after making sure that Little White was alright, of course, except for the tripling of the size overnight and the change in the fur coat.

The dog still seemed to be very fond of him and even licked his hand a couple of times which he knew that she was not very fond of and seldom did.

He got up while cleaning the dog's mouth with his shirt that he had removed and walked over to Lu Chen. "What happened?"

His friend was weirdly looking at his limbs and shaking them out. freeweb novel.com

"There was a small ball inside its head which just now dissolved into my body." Lu Chen explained.

"Dissolved into your body? What are you blabbering about?"

"Bro, listen to me. I took it in my hand and then it disappeared but I felt it in my body like… Like I just drank two shots of red bull. Do you understand?"

Hmmm… Su Yan silently looked at him.

"Wait. Let me show you this. I think I can do it now." Lu Chen raised his hand and hurriedly aimed at the wall in front of him.

"Ice spear. Ice. Ice cube. Come out. Come out. Come out." He shouted with excitement in his voice.

And the next instant, making everyone gasp, a small thick pointed rod emerged from his palm, hitting the wall in front of them at a high speed.

BANG!

"See. See. I told you. I think there might be these balls inside the zombies that can make us stronger? What do you think? Am I right? Am I right?"

[Wow! Not bad!] Qin Hua licked her lips. Thanks to this guy hitting the nail right on its head, her plan to teach a couple of things to her teammates worked out smoothly. Woof!

They might have eventually learned it on their own but then so many orbs would go to waste and their power level will stagnate which was why she decided to take action.

The two guys then discussed things for a while, even searching the rest of the zombie's body for any more of the white balls or the orbs.

Both Alex and Xu Meilin didn't feel like digging around in the blood and flesh and stayed in the living room. They were rather concerned about the weather outside, especially the dark and stormy sky.

The sky had been growling for a while now as if it was alive with huge flashes of lightning and extremely loud thunders. It was also raining heavily which didn't help with the gloomy atmosphere. f reeweb novel.com

After a few minutes, Su Yan and Lu Chen were done analyzing the zombie completely from head to toe and they walked out of the room, along with Qin Hua wagging her tail behind them.

She was now a bit too big for Su Yan to carry her around and she herself hadn't realized it until he squatted next to her and petted her.

She had been running around all night and hadn't paid attention to this, but it was not like she was surprised by this. After all, she had jumped to Level 5 all of a sudden.

Also, from the looks of it, the size increase had been a gradual albeit faster than normal change and not a burst growth. Otherwise, she would have caught it sooner.

While Qin Hua was admiring her own reflection on a shelf's glass pane and Su Yan and the others were talking about the zombie's mana core, suddenly, the sky outside turned to pitch dark for a second as if it was nighttime but without the moon and the stars, resembling an eclipse.

A loud rumble echoed which made almost everyone jump in fright and not just the girls and the sky immediately cleared up afterward.

"What the hell?" Alex and Lu Chen both complained at the same time and before anyone could relax, flashes of black lightning struck the earth, some of which the group was able to see from their window.

At the place where the lightning touched the earth, a black-colored whirlpool sort of swirl formed, and almost at the same time, a wave of energy washed over the entire planet.

Even Alex and Xu Meilin who hadn't shown any abilities yet were able to feel this invisible wave, making the latter hug her tabby cat tightly.

A green hand stuck out of the black whirlpool on the paved and cemented road and a thin green-skinned creature with a contorted face, only slightly resembling that of a human face, slowly surfaced, stepping out of the black swirl.

"JESUS! What the hell is that?" Lu Chen shouted and before he could finish his sentence, a loud collective uproar resounded in the apartment complex as if a hundred lions were roaring, making all of them shudder.

The others were too shocked to think about this uproar specifically but Qin Hua knew exactly what it was!!!

[It couldn't be… It couldn't be, right?]

The several zombies who she had seen in the different apartments, just sitting still and rocking back and forth… were they all now awake??? And what is this green-colored creature, an alien???
