Chapter 189 - Unexpected Haul!
Qin Hua was the first to arrive on the scene, followed by Guan Ye, Lu Chen, and everybody else.
No one had any idea as to what was happening as there was only fire everywhere.
All the abundant trees, bushes, brambles were on fire and it was spreading wildly.
"Alex, did you do something?! What the hell?" Lu Chen shouted, trying to make sure everyone was alright.
"Fuck! Don't blame all the fires on me! This was not me. I am not some psycho pyro!" She was able to move through the flames more easily and tried to find out the reason for everything.
Qin Hua, as well, was running around, jumping in between shadows. [Coco, use your water blast and try to control the fire. Woof!]
She had also gained an affinity to the water element after consuming the water drake's mana core but it was not yet at an intermediate level so she was not able to cast any spells.
The two figures combed through the fires hoping that no one was injured and fortunately, that didn't seem to be the case.
Most people had been inside the underground tunnels, packing their respective belongings so they got lucky.
But as Alex moved further to her right, she saw someone flailing their hands and they seem to be too injured to even cry for help.
"Who is that? Hello?" She immediately moved closer to help while being cautious at the same time as it could be a mutated beast.
However, small screams echoed as she reached and she could clearly see the silhouette of a familiar person. Elder Gao Sheng!
"FUCK! Little White! Come here! Fast. Coco. Lu Chen." Alex started randomly shouting as the elder's condition was really bad and the fire extended to the distance her eyes could see.
Everything around her was burning and ashes and smoke were flying everywhere. There was no safe place.
What was she supposed to do? Where was she supposed to take the old man?
She was too far from their camp also and by the time she took him back there, he surely would not make it.
Alex couldn't move her hands or legs as this was the first time she was seeing someone burning in front of her and she couldn't do anything.
Thankfully, she at least had the presence of mind to shout at the top of her lungs and call for help.
In just a second, Qin Hua and Lu Chen as well arrived there, the former giving the latter a ride because it was an emergency.
Lu Chen was sitting on his edge the whole time and jumped out as soon as they reached nearby.
He saw the elder struggling with the fire and he instantly put up several ice blocks to calm down the situation.
The elder was the weakest among the group as he had mostly stayed back to take care of other things.
It looked like he was outside trying to see if there were any more herbs or plants when all of this happened.
"How did this entire place catch fire so quickly?" Lu Chen looked around as he also tried to look for a safer place.
The fire was raging wildly pulling down his ice blocks as soon as they were erected.
Coincidentally some of the smoke atop the hospital debris cleared out and there was a small place that hadn't caught fire yet.
And when they looked closely, a few people also seemed to be standing there.
"Little white!" Lu Chen opened his mouth to speak but the wolf was faster than him and she had already taken the elder on her back, racing to the small area which was not affected by the fire.
Her body floated like a feather in air as she tried her best to stay out of the fire and carried the elder safely.
She also gave her clone and Coco instructions through their mental connection and just as she reached the space, the two of them arrived as well.
The group of six humans who were there already suddenly became alert and all turned to look at the ferocious beast in front of them with fear and excitement.
What an unexpected haul!
They had only been ordered to create some disturbances but it looked like the fire they had set had driven a big beast right to their hands.
"Hell yes!"
"Guys, we need to kill this dog soon and take the core before someone else comes!"
"Fast. Fast. You go that side and you come to my right. Use your weapons. Don't hold back. Fast! Fast!"
"If any of those fuckers come, they won't let us have this mana core. Shoot now!"
While the humans in front of her scrambled, Qin Hua indifferently looked up and her feral blue and green eyes gazed at them coldly.
GROWL!
Everyone shivered and the people who were planning to slay the wolf took a step back, their bodies trembling without their permission.
The confident and arrogant looks on their faces slightly changed.
What the hell was this beast? Was this a mutated dog? A wolf? Something else? Why did it feel like they were being gazed at by a powerful predator?
"Fuck. It's just a fucking dog. Don't be afraid you idiots!" The leader of the small group shouted but for some reason, it looked like even he did not have any faith in his words, and his own body shivered under the cold gaze of the ferocious beast.
The next instant, they watched another mutated cat arrive on the spot, and along with it another wolf with burning purple eyes?
Three fucking beasts? And two of them looked extremely terrifying with the last one looking usually cute! What the hell was happening?
"Leader, should we run?" One of the men was so scared that he dropped the weapon in his hands. It fell on the ground with a loud clanging noise which made everyone else further shudder.
"IDIOT! IDIOT! Why did you drop the weapon? Pick it up!!! How can we run? There is fire everywhere! Are you blind?"
"Ahhhh!" Someone else shouted and the next instant before anyone could understand what was going on all of their bodies laid on the ground, completely knocked out.
