Chapter 133 Meeting With Gu Yechen's Parents
They walked down the long porch filled with colorful plants, and when they reached the door, He Xinyan saw that Xu Mengya was already standing at the door.
She smiled and walked past Gu Yechen, "Auntie Xu!"
Xu Mengya jumped up excitedly and ran out of the house in her slippers, "Xinyan! You're here!"
They walked into the house together, leaving Gu Yechen following them from behind.
"Come! Come taste my sweet and sour pork ribs! Big Devil said it's too sweet! You try it." He Xinyan had just taken off her shoes and Xu Mengya immediately dragged her into the kitchen.
He Xinyan frowned slightly as she wondered who 'Big Devil' was.
"How is it? Is it good?" Xu Mengya eagerly anticipated He Xinyan's response.
He Xinyan slowly ate the sweet and sour pork rib and nodded her head. She didn't know that Xu Mengya's cooking would be so delicious!
After swallowing, she licked her lips and held two thumbs up, "It's delicious! The meat is very soft and chewy, and the taste is perfectly sweet and savory! Auntie Xu, I didn't know your cooking was so good!"
She didn't say this to make Xu Mengya happy, but the food was actually very delicious!
Xu Mengya's face lit up with happiness, "Of course! Ch! Big Devil says it's bad!"
"Big Devil?" He Xinyan tilted her head slightly.

A deep and sexy voice spoke over Xu Mengya's fake crying sounds. He Xinyan turned around and saw Gu Hanyu.
His gaze landed on Xu Mengya, and it was very gentle. It reminded He Xinyan of how Gu Yechen looked at her. . .
Gu Hanyu saw that Xu Mengya was acting all sad and wiping away nonexistent tears. He sighed helplessly and walked over to her.
As he untied her apron, he said, "Think about your age now. Aren't you afraid that the younger generation will laugh at you?"
He slightly nodded his head towards He Xinyan as a sign of acknowledgment.
Xu Mengya's eyes widened and she knit her eyebrows together, "Gu Hanyu, are you saying that I am old?!"
Gu Hanyu smiled softly and placed both hands onto Xu Mengya's cheeks, "Are you saying that you are still young in front of Xinyan? Go sit down. I will cook."
He kissed her on the forehead and his eyes were filled with love and gentleness.
As He Xinyan watched this, she felt a warm feeling in her chest.
She smiled, "Auntie Xu isn't old. If we were to stand next to each other, outsiders will think that we are sisters!"
Xu Mengya smiled triumphantly, "See! Do you hear that?! I'm not old!"
Xu Mengya lifted her chin up and handed the cooking spatula to Gu Hanyu. She grabbed onto He Xinyan's hand and pulled her out of the kitchen, "Let's go!"
He Xinyan blinked a few times and looked back at Gu Hanyu, who was wearing an apron and holding a spatula. He grinned at her and slightly nodded her head. Then, he closed the kitchen door.
"Auntie Xu, Uncle Gu knows how to cook?" He Xinyan was quite surprised because Gu Hanyu didn't look like the type to be standing inside a kitchen and cooking.
Well. . . Gu Yechen didn't look like that type either.
Xu Mengya sat down on the couch with her and handed her a plate of fruits, "Ch! If it hadn't been for his sweet and sour pork ribs, I definitely wouldn't have married him!"
He Xinyan's eyes widened in surprise, "Could it be that Uncle Gu's one dish. . ."
Xu Mengya pursed her lips out, "Xinyan-ah, if a man cooks for you, you have to be very careful! He is definitely scheming already, and he is just trying to trick you to be with him."
He Xinyan couldn't help but laugh, "Auntie Xu, you really. . ."
"Don't mention it! I regret my decision so much! Married a Big Devil, and then gave birth to a Small Devil!" Xu Mengya glared at Gu Yechen, who just walked down the stairs.
About half an hour later, the food was ready and Gu Hanyu walked out of the kitchen holding several plates of steaming food.
The delicious smell immediately reached He Xinyan's nose, and she stood up to go look at the food.
Xu Mengya also walked over to the table and they sat down together. There were four chairs at the rectangular table, and the two couples sat next to each other.
He Xinyan's eyes widened at what she saw.
Xu Mengya also licked her lips excitedly, "Kung Pao Chicken. . . Spicy fish. . . boiled shrimp. . . braised ribs! My favorites!"
He Xinyan was also very amazed. She didn't think that Gu Hanyu would be able to make such a delicious table of food.
So this is where Gu Yechen got his cooking genes from!
The four of them sat down to eat and Xu Mengya was the first to pick up her chopsticks and begin. He Xinyan waited for a moment because she thought it wouldn't be polite for her to eat before the elders did.
Xu Mengya picked up a braised pork rib and took a bite.
As she looked up, she knit her eyebrows together.
"You stupid boy! Why aren't you placing food on Xinyan's bowl?! If your dad was like you, I would have definitely not married him!"
Gu Hanyu placed a piece of fish into Xu Mengya's bowl. He had removed all of the fish bones for her already.
"If I remember correctly, you married me just because of a piece of pork rib. . ."
"You -" Xu Mengya pinched Gu Hanyu's waist frustratingly and glared at him.
He Xinyan licked her lips and looked down to hide her laugh.
She always really envied a perfect and complete family like this. The parents were in love and the children got along well. The entire family could sit together and eat a meal of home cooking while talking about interesting things in life.
This seemed to be a very happy thing. . .
Gu Yechen peeled a shrimp and put it into He Xinyan's bowl, "Dad's boiled shrimp is very good. It tastes even better with the special sauce he made himself."
He Xinyan looked down at the shrimp in her bowl and raised one eyebrow. Why did his words sound a little weird. . .
"Yes! Xinyan, eat more! When you have time, come over more often so your dad. . . your Uncle Gu can make more delicious food for you!" Xu Mengya's mouth was filled with food and she smiled sweetly as she spoke.

She hugged her and said, "Xinyan, I really like you. You have to come to visit me often. Even if you don't, I will go find you often!"
He Xinyan chuckled, "Don't worry, Auntie Xu. I will come to visit you often!"
Xu Mengya pulled away from the hug but she suddenly grabbed onto He Xinyan's hand. From her own wrist, she pulled off a red jade bracelet and stretched out He Xinyan's hand.
He Xinyan gasped and immediately tried to stop her, "Auntie Xu, what are you doing?"
Xu Mengya grasped onto her hand and smiled, "Our first meeting was rushed, so I wasn't able to give you anything. Just take this as a gift from me to you!"
"This. . . This is too valuable, I can't take it." He Xinyan did take a look at jade once in a while, and she could immediately tell from the color and quality of this bracelet that it was probably very precious and expensive.
From the looks of it, Xu Mengya has probably been wearing this bracelet for a long time already.
Xu Mengya grabbed onto He Xinyan's hand and forcefully pushed it onto He Xinyan's wrist, "If you keep rejecting me then it means that you look down on my gift!"
He Xinyan slightly furrowed her eyebrows and felt as the chilly jade bracelet touched her smooth skin.
He Xinyan stared at the bracelet for a long time before looking back up.
"Xinyan, I really like you. There is no reason. . . Maybe this is fate in its own way. I hope that this fate can continue into a deeper relationship." Xu Mengya smiled as she spoke.
