447 Foraging Rocca
The afterglow from the sunset burned the Blade Peak Canyon into a crimson red. Occasionally, a double-legged dragon flew past the canyon and would rest on it. However, it would be attacked and penetrated by innumerous spears.
Blade Peak Canyon was a map that had been visited by the Wind Rider Sword Saint.
Beneath the canyon, there was a quaint camping ground. In an old tent, there laid a bright-eyed, stubby kid with dark skin that sounded asleep. His nose twitched, and saliva dripped down from his mouth as he clamored up with a cry. His eyes remained closed, but his nose throbbed continuously as he called out in a babyish tone, “Food, food!”
Lin Jie felt awkward as this little guy was Foraging Rocca, a Level 20 Elite NPC, which was pretty trashy on this Level 50 map. In actual fact, Rocca relied on the soil and stone as food sources and managed to survive until now. Once, he had been saved by the Wind Rider Sword Saint. One had to be assessed and verified by him to enter the Blade Peak Canyon.
Rocca raised his hands and walked up shakily. He took in a deep whiff and bit onto Lin Jie’s greaves before letting out a howl. “It’s meat, meat! I want to eat meat, ah woo—”

In an instant, Rocca’s eyes were wide open as tears filled up, and he covered his mouth. After a long while, he broke into violent lamentations. “Bad guy, bad guy! My teeth hurt, how dare you attack me!”

Lin Jie’s mouth twitched. ‘This kid is unreliable. Nonetheless, no matter how useless it is, at least I made an accomplishment.’
In order to enter the Blade Peak Canyon, one had to fulfill two criteria: One, be guided by the Wind Rider Sword Saint; Two, gain the favorability of Foraging Rocca.
“Kid, look, what is this?”
Foraging Rocca was busy sobbing as he caught a whiff of the meat scent. The fragrance of the vegetables and soup caused the kid to begin salivating as he gazed at Lin Jie’s Wild Fungus Soup pathetically and pointed at it. “Can I eat it?”
Lin Jie put on a stern face and said, “No.”
“Big brother, let me have it, I am still a growing boy, but I have been eating soil for the past 400 years.” Rocca’s saliva was still dripping as he wiped it away, however, it only grew in intensity. “Alright, how about you let me have it, and I will tell you a secret?”
“What secret? Let me hear it.” Lin Jie smiled slightly as Rocca caught the bait.
“I am the direct disciple of the Wind Rider Sword Saint Carsey, there is a training handbook hidden within the Blade Peak Canyon. If you search carefully and get it, you might be able to carry on his legacy. Hurry, give it to me...” A blade aura exploded from the little guy’s stubby hands, and he snatched the soup and gulped it down hurriedly. The fulfillment caused him to close in pleasure. He then looked at Lin Jie expectantly. “Big brother, do you have any more?”
Lin Jie grinned and grabbed a huge piece of roasted lamb leg and said, “Follow me, kid, and I will give you good food, alright?”

“Alright, alright, Rocca is the best.” Rocca nodded fervently and hugged the lamb leg with excitement. The leg was one head taller than the kid, and the latter bit down hard on the meat and giggled. “The past hundred years that I spent eating soil was not wasted. Master said that patience is a virtue, I will definitely await a man that is loaded with food!”
Lin Jie smiled slightly as the instructions that Foraging Rocca received then was to await a ‘ highly skilled swordsman’, which was the criteria to activate the Blade Peak Canyon. Now that all he was thinking about was food, the criteria had changed as well. Lin Jie waved his hands and said, “Let me send you into the Blade Peak Canyon.”
Seven gentle breezes came and tore open space, revealing the sight of Blade Peak Canyon.
The whirlwind encompassed some Seven Spinning Slash vibes.
Lin Jie relished it before entering, while the kid had finished consuming the lamb leg and followed suit. He looked up at Lin Jie expectantly for more food.
However, Lin Jie did not comply. Foraging Rocca was a special type of NPC and would only follow a player if he was hungry. He possessed great capabilities, such as navigation, searching, and hunting. He would, however, leave once he was full.

—”You have entered Blade Peak Canyon, communications are currently shut down.”
From the outside, the Blade Peak Canyon appeared to be sliced by a dagger and looked majestic. But it was startling to look at it from the inside, how could this be a mountain peak? It was a dagger blade! It was wire sharp, and Lin Jie could feel the chill in the air as he neared the peak! This was horrifying.
If Blade Peak Canyon could be mined, it would be a superior-grade material without the need for smithing!
“Huhu, I am finally back here again.” Rocca’s eyes were wide open as he peered left and right and grinned. “I was once the prince of Blade Peak Canyon’s Munjo Ogre Clan, but I was too gluttonous and accidentally ate an injured Demigod. I was punished by the Gods, and we were no longer able to leave Blade Peak Canyon. I was chased out of the clan as well. Hmph, what a petty Demigod...”
Lin Jie was surprised, he had been to the Blade Peak Canyon in his past life, but had been unaware of the mission timeline. Hence, he had been kicked out after wandering around the canyon. Did Rocca have a hidden mission?
‘Regarding how he ate a Demigod out of hunger... how large of an appetite did he have to possess!?’ Lin Jie shivered and ignored Rocca’s mutterings as he made his way to the edge of the canyon.
Blade Peak Canyon was the assembly area for the Munjo Ogres, who were intelligent creatures that had crimson skin and held axes. They were valiant fighters skilled in long-distance hurling weaponry and were decent in close combat fights.
The Blade Peak Canyon’s internals were filled with secrets, and it had been rumored that there was an underground palace where many treasure chests were hidden. However, its authenticity had to be further confirmed. Straight ahead of them was a camping ground with a structure similar to that of Rocca’s, but was ten folds larger. It went well with the body size of the Ogres. Behind the camps was a deep cave.
An ogre that was holding a giant axe appeared from the tents. There were blood remnants on his lips, it seemed to have just enjoyed a fulfilling meal.

Mini-Bosses did not have the hidden attributes boosts that Bosses possessed. Thus, their output wasn’t very high. His attributes were definitely one of the contributing reasons, if a Berserker with 400 Defense Points was in his place instead, they would probably run away in defeat.

Lin Jie retreated hurriedly as his health bar was drained greatly. He gulped down a health potion, and he unleashed Dragon Armor Removal. He stabbed with Broken Blade and cast an Army Obliteration move, followed by Shield Cut!

The Ogre’s health bar was greatly drained and was pushed back by Lin Jie’s Broken Blade. The Bloody Demonic Ring’s health absorption skill also regained 200 points for Lin Jie. His current attack was up to 1,700 points, while the Heart of Enrage and Bloody Demonic Ring boosted an additional 50% of attack power after Lin Jie’s health bar decreased by 50%. Coupled with the defense disregard skill of Dragon Armor Removal, Lin Jie’s attacking power was off the charts!

From how the Ogre retreated, Lin Jie understood why the Wind Rider Sword Saint said that this was a great training ground. This Munjo Ogre was two men tall and his weakness was exposed. Furthermore, he would retreat a great distance when he was being attacked. In other words, his ‘layback’ time was very long, making him an easy target! Broken Blade stabbed at his navel, and the Ogre repeatedly retreated as he was pierced by the blade a dozen times.

There was an additional boost when a combo attack was accomplished in the Blade Peak Canyon! Lin Jie cast a great output from his Broken Blade, and the Ogre was instantly pierced by the blade aura. It groaned and fell to the ground. There was a loud crash as a giant axe exploded out.
