Chapter 312 - Didn’t This Already Happen?
That night Kana had a nice hot bath and was given new clothes. After eating a hardy meal, she was ready to get a good night's sleep because she had a feeling the nights to come would not be so easy.
"Alright, do you have everything?" Instructor Shelly asked. She had no idea if she would see this little girl again, but she hoped that she would be able to survive this upcoming trial.
"Mm… I do. But… I think I will take these shoes off. They will only slow me down." Kana said as she bent over. She took off her shoes and handed them to Instructor Shelly. "I'm off."
"Alright, let me get the li… Wait! Seven!" Instructor Shelly looked at the little figure who just jumped off a wall that was more than seven stories high.
"Relax, she's fine. Let's go to the camera room." Senior Miyu said as she walked off.
Instructor Shelly couldn't help but take another look down below. Only when she saw a small figure runoff under the trees did she let out a sigh of relief. "When did I get so attached to the little girl?" Instructor Shelly scratched her head. She was never like this before…
Down on the forest floor, Kana slowed her pace as she got further from the wall. She looked around and investigated the area. "As always, lots of trees! One day I hope to see a highly advanced world. It would be a nice change."
Kana stretched her arms a little before quickly swinging her arm out to her side. Her hand catching something as she did. Kana turned to look at the strange creature in her hand. "Cat? No… But it does look similar to the monster's back on my world. I wonder how it tastes…"
With a crack, Kana snapped the cat like monster's neck and took out her dagger to skin it. "Now to find a flat surface…"
Kana walked around for a bit, holding the monster upside down to drain its blood. Only when she found a large rock did she start skinning it and cutting off the meat. After all the meat was cut off, she wrapped it in a large leaf and stuffed it in her bag. She couldn't eat it just yet since she still had to set up a small camp and without a water source nearby.
Kana continued to walk around deeper into the forest in search of a water source. As she did, she noticed that this forest was quite dense with different and strange flora and fauna. "Hmm? Why does this fruit look familiar?" Kana walked over to a bush that had a round fruit on it that looked somewhat familiar. She reached out and grabbed it with both hands, and pulled hard.
"Umm… This… Sh*t!" Kana wanted to let go, but it was already too late. She found herself suddenly flung through the air towards god knows where. All the while screaming: "That fucking plant again! Now I know for sure this is a damn trial!"
By the time Kana finally touched down, she had crashed into a large tree about nine Kana wide head first. She was perfectly unharmed, but her head was currently stuck in the tree. Back at the base area, Senior Miyu was bent over laughing while Instructor Shelly watched on in shock. "What the hell is she made of!?"
"Who knows, but she is quite entertaining." Senior Miyu said, wiping the tears from her eyes.
"What the hell pecked my butt!" Kana yelled out. She was still trying to pull her head out. She was really stuck, and now some damn creature was pecking her butt. No, it was worse. The damn thing was had just pulled her pants down! Now her little butt was exposed for all to see. "Wait until I pull my head out of this thing. I will cook whatever you are for dinner!"
With one finally strong push, A cracking sound was heard, and part of the tree suddenly exploded as Kana pulled her head out. She turned to see a large black or monster thing standing there pecking her. "Damn oversized Chicken!" Kana was so enraged her intelligence seemed to jump out the window as she began fist fighting the bird monster. It seemed to be a repeat of events that had happened to her before.
Kana could care less about her appearance or what others thought of her right now as she punched and kicked the damn bird to death. To her surprise, though, the bird was rather thick skinned. It could take her punches and kicks like they were nothing for a while, but after being hit over a hundred times, the bird's defense could no longer keep it protected.
"Humph! I will cook you later." Kana snorted. She then looked around at her surroundings and smiled when she realized she was actually right at the edge of a large river. "Seems I got lucky."
Kana went right to work creating a base camp. She cleared out a large area and built a fire pit. She then built a makeshift roster before de-feathering and shoving a large stick up the bird monster's butt to roast it. The cat master meat was all shoved onto some sticks and slowly roasted on the outside of the fire. Once the smell of cooked meat filled her nose, Kana smiled brightly as drool dripped from her mouth. "Time to eat!"
She quickly dug into the bird monster meat by tearing off a leg and munching on it. She had a canister of water at her side. The pack she had brought with her had the essentials from matches to some simple cook wear. So she was actually all set for a while. She also planned to make a small hut for herself to live in. But she knew this would take some time. She was just happy that she was at least able to find a source of water.
