Chapter 2106 Dayus' Plan
Similar scenes were occurring in the other Academies as well. The Olympian Deans suddenly felt like they were hit by lightning. Sam who was behind all this laughed his heart out when he saw the plight of these Deans.
Lawsuits were not a thing in this world. After all, everything is based on a person's strength and the stronger one always wins. Whatever that winner says is the truth, it is the justice and it is the law.
However, back on earth, Sam had his fair share of games with lawsuits, a person can be dragged through the mud and more with that power. A saint can be reduced to a devil and a rich man can be reduced to a beggar.
It is a great and convenient weapon and those who knew how to wield it, used it to a great extent.
Now, Sam is using the same weapon against these people. The city guard captain was stupid enough to reveal what a person can do with the judicial proceedings in this realm. As Christos said, no one really knew what it was.
Now that Sam knew, he has more than ten ways to make the lives of all these people miserable.
But they have to wait until the first pocket dimension was opened and done. Until then, he just needs to let the situation ferment. Kill some more Zeus Academy members and fan the flames by spreading the news more and piss off any many people as he can.
While doing that, he was observing Dayus' actions.
Dayus followed the Dean's plan perfectly. First he went to the Academy tower and went up to forty-five floors on the first try. It might not seem like much, but even Vidyuth who is a talented guy only went up to almost thirty floors.
Forty-five is a big number. He didn't stop there. After that was done, he heard about Sam's exploits and instead of going to the Hub like the Dean said, he went to get an Olympian pass. This made the Dean also a bit happy. This improvisation can only help him out.
The impact will be better. And if Dayus creates enough commotion, then a bit of attention will be diverted to that side.
He attempted the other towers one by one at the maximum speed. Up on his request, Christos even sent some very high quality recovery medicines that helped with energy consumption. Particularly the mental energy.
He fought through the night and went to the Hub.
He attempted one arcade game after another and set some very high scores. In a couple of machines he even beat the highest scores and made look at him in awe.
He was only done with all of this by the next day afternoon. After he was done, Dean announced handing over the Flaming Skulls case to Dayus. After the announcement was made, Sam had a very intriguing thought.
And it only strengthened when he saw what Dayus did next. He arrived at the city square and made an announcement.
"Recently, there were a lot of attacks on the Zeus Academy and its reputation. Many people who were jealous of our legacy and envious of our strength are trying to smear our reputation and harm our Olympian honor.
This caused a lot of our seniors and instructors to be busy with a handful of things and taking this as advantage, the flaming skulls and some vicious ba… fiends behind it are attacking the first grade students of the Zeus Academy.
To put an end to this, I was asked to catch the Flaming skulls.
For that, I need a team. At first I wanted to recruit only from the Zeus Academy, but I believe this is not just the problem of Zeus Academy, rather the Olympian Academy. So, I would like to recruit from all the Olympian Academies in this temporary team.
Our team's one and only goal will be to catch the Flaming skulls and that is what we will do.
Everyone who participates will be compensated. However, time of essence, so I want everyone wants to be a part of this to come and register in the Zeus Academy's dorm area.
The test will be concise and fast so that we can get on duty immediately."
The announcement of Dayus shook them. Even more when they found out what the test was. It was just basic one on one combat. They had to fight with Dayus.
Sam kept an eye on the whole recruitment process and the only surprise was when White showed up. He actually applied for the recruitment which only delighted the Dean a bit more. Two competent individuals is obviously much better then one.
However, Dayus had his reservations.
He doesn't trust White as much as he did with others. Because he couldn't find much information on White's background like he could with the other candidates. The test process appeared to be transparent to the people's eyes. But what they do not know is that Dayus has rigged it a little bit. There was a hidden criteria which will decide whether they could pass the test or not.

Courtesy to Christos, Dayus managed to access the detailed background information of the candidates. Dayus is going to allow these candidates to get some really high level rewards, so he wants someone that he could easily control as well as someone who is blindly loyal to Zeus and the Olympian Gods, preferably Zeus of course.
If they satisfy this criteria, it will be easier for Dayus to control them. However, White doesn't fit any of those criteria.
He is not a devout believer of Olympus, much less Zeus. He first came with the intention to join the Gambler academy. He had made it known that he and Sam had a connection, which also made Dayus extra vigilant.
Whenever it concerns Sam, his brain is on overdrive and he cannot overthink enough. Sam is a person who thinks all kinds of possibilities. After facing several defeats, he tried to start thinking like Sam and those thoughts led him to several speculations regarding White.
Majority of them made him suspicious. After all, for all Dayus knew, White could be a decoy set up by Sam to raise chaos in the realm.
He wanted to reject White, the only problem is that he cannot. Unlike the rest of the candidates, Dayus didn't have the prowess to defeat White bad enough to not meet the announced criteria. To last a certain time with Dayus in the ring. White proved more than worthy, almost defeating Dayus to a tie. Even though Dayus didn't reveal all his trump cards, judging from the discussion of the audience, the case could be same with White.
So, just like that, White and Dayus became reluctant teammates. White seemed to have sensed the reluctance, so he spoke.
"I am only here because I want to fight the ace of the flaming skulls again. I won't interfere with your matters and I will not be part of any other situation other than the flaming skulls investigation. You can rest assured."
Dayus was a bit stumped. His intentions were exposed way too easily.
After the recruitment was over, the whole team went for a meeting. Dayus selected eleven people including White, making the team twelve.
The meeting was simple. Dayus wants to set up a plan and it is not even a unique plan of some sorts. It is the oldest trick you could find in the oldest book. To create a fake assignment for the Flaming Skulls.
They will use some decoy and ask for flaming skulls to deal with a certain target who would also be part of the set up.
"You really think that no one thought of this before? I am pretty sure the student unions of every single academy within the region must have tried this. But it didn't work. Its almost like the other party knows exactly what the fake assignment is and what a real assignment is."
"I know. That is why we are not going to set up a single assignment. We are going to set up multiple random assignments all with different set of parameters. One would be revenge against a second grade student, another is stealing something from a peer, etc, etc. And we are also going to set up the whole thing in a much more secretive manner. I want each of you to randomly pick two people from the people in the academy. They shouldn't be your friends or people you are acquainted with.
You should barely know them.
Just give me the names that come to your mind. Of course, don't say them out loud. Write them don secretly in slips of paper. Don't copy each other."
The whole team was a bit confused, but they did as they were told. After that, Dayus collected all the slips without letting anyone take a peek. "I will be back."
He went to a different room to make sure what he is about to do remains a secret. If only, he had the sense to not take the new puppet that he just gained from the Hub.
