Chapter 2022 Hostility

Dove didn't stop asking questions.

Sam got frustrated. He almost wanted to start a fight if not for the fact he knew he couldn't do anything to her in the Norse region. He is just not strong enough and he didn't have enough of his new toys in his hands.

"Did you become the leader of the Grade 4 by annoying the fuck out of your peers? Did they just give up the leadership because they are unable to take any more of your questions?"

Sam asked directly and Dove was stumped.

Anger surged and she wanted to slap the shit out of Sam. He could even sense her energy being riled up. He ignored her and gestured for the waiter.

"Get me some grilled meat. Tell the chef it's the fifteenth recipe. I want it fast."

The waiter nodded and ran. Literally. He ran in the restaurant which is known for its elegance. Dove finally stopped speaking. Sam took out a chilled jar of wine. One of Ape's latest creations. Sam poured a glass for himself and started enjoying the cool and refreshing drink.

As they sat there, the restaurant is slowly getting full.

Dove was surprised. The restaurant is very big. Too big to the point one would wonder how someone is even maintaining the service here. It could house a few hundred customers at a time and one-third of the tables are already reserved for the students that come from other realms.

The remaining tables are all full and soon Dove noticed that a lot of people are looking at their table.

She wouldn't have minded since it is common for people to look at the most eye-catching table, but she knew this time it is different. They are looking at Sam and then her. Before she could process this, there is some commotion in the lobby.

Many more people are trying to get into the restaurant, but the staff blocked them.

"There are no more seats. The rest of the seats are reserved for the Freshmen Tournament Candidates. You cannot go in."

The people didn't resist. Most of them are citizens. They didn't dare to lock horns with the people of the academy. But they all had one request, they wanted to see 'someone'.

They wanted to see if that 'someone' really came and how he looks.

Dove is smart enough to put two and two together and of course, the actual mention of Sam's name in the middle of the commotion also helped. She wanted to ask Sam, but then she remembered his words and got angry again.

At this moment, the crowd in the lobby made way. Several groups are walking in and they are all wearing different uniforms. They are the students from different regions.

They were all wondering why there are so many people in the lobby.

The Seniors in charge of the groups went to meet the manager and finish the checking in procedures. Meanwhile the rest of the teams were led to the restaurant. Their tables were already furnished with wine.

As soon as they entered most of them stopped in their tracks.

Dove once again noticed that their gazes are locked on their table. A few of them even took out their weapons and came at Sam. But right before they were about to attack, a voice reverberated throughout the entire restaurant.

"Anyone who causes a commotion in the restaurant will be banished from here and if they are a student that came for the tournament, their participation will be revoked."

Sam smirked and looked at the people that surrounded him.

"Go to your tables. I will see you guys in the tournament. Then you can try and fight me. Of course, it would turn into a premium grade ass whopping once again."

His voice sounded so unbothered.

"Who the fuck is talking? Come out if you dare?"

One of the more impulsive ones yelled out loud.

The same voice once again came.

"I am the owner of this restaurant and also one of the alumni of the Thor Academy. I also happen to be one of the invigilators of this tournament. So, if you raise your voice one more time, you can forget about staying in Norse Region or ever stepping foot in here.

If you don't take my threat seriously, go and tell your seniors that Ivar gave you a warning and if they still tell you take it lightly, you can do whatever you want here."

Dove was stunned when she heard the announcement. She is also a senior at Grade 4 and she knew very well who Ivar is and what that name represents.

She shuddered at just the thought of him.

"It is better for you guys to discuss with your Seniors before you make any decision. Go back to your seats."

The crowd dispersed, but of course everyone gave a threat to Sam before they left.

"What the hell did you do to attract this much heat? How do they all even know you? You are a Freshman and it hasn't even been a couple of months since you came to this realm."

"You will know soon."

Soon, the whole room is full. All the students came and Sam earned more hostile looks. And Ivar's voice came once again.

"Well, everyone is here. So, this is your welcome orientation.

It is for you guys to settle in here a bit before the tournament starts. For the next few days, until all the competitions are over, you are going to stay in Paradise Inn.

Specific rooms are allocated to you and special menus are provided for you. Anything you want to eat from those menus are free…"

Ivar went on to explain a bunch of stuff, about the tournament procedure. On the final note, he gave one sentence that made everyone curious.

"Our most premium suite rooms are reserved for the Gambler's academy and the whole floor is blocked along with the terrace for them. So, the rest of the candidates are not allowed to go there.

And the central table of the restaurant is off-limits. It is permanently reserved for Sam, who most of you might know.

Apart from that enjoy your stay."

Sam chuckled at this.

Dove is even more surprised. The reputation of Ivar is not a friendly one. To think that he showed such generosity to Sam is shocking to say the least.

Everyone looked at Sam with extreme hostility. The hatred he is attracting is unreal.

Meanwhile, Sam is looking at one particular table. His gaze is locked on a beautiful woman who wore a dark green robe with knee-length hair completely let lose. She is extremely elegant and graceful. Nothing like what Sam remembered her to be.

She looked at Sam and smiled before walking to the central table.

Everyone was curious why she is going to Sam, particularly to one more guy who actually shared the table with her. He stood up and looked at her as she took a seat at Sam's table. When the waiter was about to step forward, Sam gestured him that it is okay.

"Long time no see."

She said as she took Sam's luxurious wine bottle and poured a glass for herself. She crossed her legs and elegantly took a sip.

"Indeed, it has been long. How was your trip to this realm Noah?"

He asked as he clinked his glass with his.

"It was eventful, but I must say. My stay here is anything but boring. You have created quite a stir in a bunch of regions. You can never keep a low profile, can you?"

Then Noah looked at Dove who seemed confused.

"Hello, I am Noah. Freshman at Aranya's Academy."

"Dove, Grade 4, Gambler Academy."

"Oh, I heard a lot about you."

"I hope they are good things." Dove replied and paused before asking. "If I may, what do you mean when you said he stirred things in different regions? I feel like I am missing something with all the hostility directed to him. It is killing me."

Noah chuckled and looked at Sam.

"Can I tell her?"

He just shrugged.

"I think it is better if you know it by yourself. I am not going to ruin the experience for you. She stood up and then leaned forward towards Sam a bit."

"We can talk later. But I need a favor from you. Since you are already attracting these flies, I hope it wouldn't be a problem if one of it buzzes harder."

Sam looked at the guy who is staring at them from their table. He is even about to walk up to them at the moment.

"I am fine with it. But I don't think Kumar would be happy if he knows that I acted as a shield."

"Then that knuckle head should have been here by now. Thanks, anyway. I owe you one."

"Its fine. Let's have dinner tonight. We need to talk."

Noah nodded and left. She didn't even go back to the table and left the restaurant.

The young man who was staring at them finally came to Sam's table and slammed on it.

"You. Stay away from her. Or I will kill you."
