Chapter 2002 Trial

Gambler's academy

Dormitory Area.

Riwan is nervously walking as he held a cube while fidgeting with it. He has many doubts and one of them stemmed from the fact that these cubes didn't even cost much. The dealer only asked for one month of his expenses.

At that time, he didn't think much.

But now that he thought about it, he felt like this might have been a sham and if it is, then things wouldn't be good after he closed in on the seniors and used the cubes.

As he overthought until he decided on giving up the idea, he noticed that some of the kids that came to harass him at the bar just watched him and went running towards the senior's dorm.

Even before he could react, the seniors came out and spotted him.

Before he knew the seniors are already in front of him.

"I heard that you made some powerful friends in other academies. A guy actually beat some of your peers for you? What the fuck are you doing mingling with other academies and making the Gambler academy look bad?"

One of the seniors closed in and started yelling.

"Yeah, are you trying to tell them that the Gambler's academy students bully each other? It was just a spat between friends, why are other involved?"

*PAK*

He slapped him directly.

Riwan was dumbfounded. Based on those far fetched words and their stupid logic along with their wicked smiles, it is apparent that they are just choosing this as a reason to pick on him.

He felt exhausted once again and at the same time a surge of anger assaulted his mind.

Riwan bit his finger and pressed it on the cube. The blood enter the engraving of the name before it glowed. The seniors were surprised for a second and the next moment, the shot out of his hand towards the person whose name was engraved on it.

With a very bright flash, Riwan disappeared.

The flash was so effective to the point it not only blocked the vision, it blacked the spiritual senses and hearing as well. Riwan appeared a few streets away and stood there in a completely different place.

He checked his storage and found the remaining three cubes there.

He doesn't know what happened to the cube he held in the hand and what happened to the person who the cube targeted.

He fidgeted his hands nervously before deciding to send the bird puppet to check up on them.

When the bird puppet entered the air space and Riwan got a clear visual, he could see that the flash stayed for a couple of minutes before it disappeared.

All the people who were enveloped by the light flash were standing still as if they are stunned completely out of their consciousness. After a couple of minutes, their minds cleared up and they shook their heads.

The cube was nowhere to be seen and the senior who was targeted by the cube was also back to normal.

"What the fuck did that bastard do? What happened to us?"

He yelled since he also saw that the cube hit his body, he didn't know where it disappeared to, but it certainly hit his chest pretty cleanly.

And to think that he lost his consciousness for almost five minutes is pretty scary. They are at the stage where wars change tides in seconds. Five minutes is way too much.

They looked around and after failing to find out where he is, they just walked back to the dorm.

Riwan is a bit relieved and a bit disappointed as he saw the senior who was targeted didn't show any signs of pain or attack apart from the flash light. He was relieved that there would be no one in the school who would blame him for attacking a senior.

After all, if the senior really suffered, he would be the one to get the blame since there would be many eyes within the academy. He wouldn't be able to handle the consequences that easily.

And the reason for the disappointment is pretty obvious.

He just followed the group with the bird and as time passed, his disappointment only increased.

But right before he was about to give up watching that person, he saw something.

The group of four are walking leisurely as they discussed what they would do to Riwan when they find him again.

"That bastard did something with that cube. There is certainly something up with it. I am going to beat him until he spills where he got it."

As the senior who got tagged with the cube spoke, he suddenly tripped.

His leg stopped moving. It laid limp on the ground and no matter how much he tried he couldn't move.

"What the fuck? I can't move my leg."

Even before he could finish that scream, his second leg also fell limp.

The next moment, he felt his arms go limp as well and finally his neck. Then came a searing pain in various points within his body.

When he noticed where those points are, he felt absolute despair. Those are key acupoints for his energy circulation and from what he could feel right now, those acupoints are burning up. Flesh around that area is being seared by an energy that is very similar to the death energy.

But instead of just death energy that would eat vitality away, this energy is more corrosive and focused on just deteriorating the flesh.

"HELP. HELP. HELP ME"

He started screaming on top of his lungs.

His friends came to his aid and took him to the medicine hall.

Riwan was stunned. He called the puppet back and watched the video again and again. He gulped in nervousness.

He was scared that he would be caught.

Meanwhile, in the medicine hall, the Elder looked at the patient and was stunned.

"What happened to him before this? Who did this to him?"

The friends looked at each other's faces. They didn't know what to say. After much hesitation, they explained what happened.

The Elder frowned and immediately sent orders.

Crow who was about to get ready for the trial of these four seniors was called again to investigate something before the trial and as part of it, he directly went to Riwan.

Within half an hour after the incident, Crow is standing in front of Riwan.

"So, those guys said that you threw some sort of cube at him and that is what caused him this plight. What do you say for that?"

Riwan gulped in nervousness. He is sweating bullets and Crow sighed.

He gently tapped Riwan's shoulders and said.

"I know those guys tortured you for no reason and I am sorry that you had to deal with it because of the school's lack of rules and turning a blind eye.

But you shouldn't be afraid of me like this. You can tell me what happened and if you really did this, even if you might get a scolding, you would still be able to get away scot-free without a punishment.

The only problem is that he would also be going away since you already executed your own punishment. So, speak freely."

Riwan pursed his lips and said.

"I didn't do anything. It is true I threw a cube, but it was just something that creates flash and distraction. I escaped using a space transference token when they surrounded me to beat me up."

Crow frowned.

"Okay, you need to be there in a hour for the trial. There is a complaint registered against four of them, Sam and you are the victim in the middle. Come there and testify and whatever you said right now better be the truth."

Crow left and met with some of his friends.

"So, what is the situation there?"

"Whatever Riwan said checks out. It was indeed a distraction and he disappeared and there are indeed traces of spatial transference and spatial transference alone. Something else must have caused this."

"There is someone who might have caused it and he would be in the trial. Let's go." Crow said and walked towards the Disciplinary hall.

Within the Disciplinary hall an hour after the incident.

Riwan is standing on one side. The three friends out of four are standing on the other and Sam is standing in the middle. Crow stood in front of them and explained the whole thing to the elder.

This process is very similar to the trial Sam went through when he was pissing off Zeus academy.

Riwan and the Seniors said their piece, now all suspicions are on Sam.

"Sam, why did you have to attack Riwan with such viciousness? The death energy trap he set up was indeed his own fault, but to use the death energy to put him in such a comatose state. Don't you think you went overboard?"

"No, I don't think so."

"You don't think you went overboard?"

The Elder of the disciplinary hall is not happy with Sam's answer.
