Chapter 1994 Big Slap

Sam kept on ascending.

He didn't know what is happening outside of the tower. At least not at the moment. He just focused on enjoying himself as he made the whole fight kind of meaningless.

With his energy tricks, it is becoming a bit easy for him to deal with these humanoids and the beasts.

The numbers are also not making much of a difference. The clearance for the next floor was much faster than when compared to Pearl. His ascension speed just made the mood outside much more somber.

The died down mood only cheered up when they noticed the ascension of Vidyut and White.

Both of them finally broke the record. They broke past the twenty-sixth floor and from their speed, they are pretty fast even in the next floor. Most people in the crowd tried their best to ignore Sam and kept on cheering for Vidyut and White.

There are even some betting pools, each betting to see who will reach a higher rank.

A part of the lost zeal was recovered once again. But it would take a while for it to reach its former glory. Time passed and the points increase on Vidyut and White's side finally slowed down a bit. But they still managed to ascend further at that slower pace.

They crossed the twenty-seventh and twenty-eight floors at that same slower pace before they landed on twenty-ninth.

Now the points rise slowed down by a lot. They are raising at a snail pace.

As both of their scores approached closed to five hundred, the hopes of everyone increased. They wanted them to pass it and finish the thirtieth floor too. But to their disappointment, Vidyut was stopped around early four hundreds and he had to stop his ascension.

Within no time, White also stopped. Their score difference is only five points, it is not that much. At most White must have just landed a couple of hits more on a target before he was kicked out.

Even though the crowd is a bit disappointed, they are still in a good mood.

Not only an age old record was broken, two people broke it on the same day and at the same time and they are going to stay here in their academy to break it even more.

As mentioned before, the whole point of these towers is to start their journey to glory with a bang and these two people really did a great job.

Many students ran to the entrance and they started cheering for both White and Vidyut who just came out of the tower. Both of them looked spent and haggard. Even though their energy recovered, they still had all the accumulated fatigue from the battles. Both physical and mental.

Some students carried them to their dorms to let them rest.

"Hey, which instructor do you think Vidyut and White are going to select? I am sure the instructors and elders would be fighting over them."

One of the students asked his friend within the crowd.

His one question thus triggered a large discussion among them. Until then the students were so drunk on that victory that they didn't think much about the instructors and elders.

But now that someone mentioned it, they fell deep into it.

Only fact is that they didn't notice that the instructors and elders are awfully silent with a very solemn expression.

Even though they are glad that the record is broken by two of their students, they are in no place to celebrate it. They are focused on Sam and Pearl's ascension.

While White and Vidyut are in the spot light, Sam and Pearl already crossed the tenth floor.

Pearl for some reason sped up a bit as if she got the news that Sam is leaving her in the dust. As for Sam, the raise in his points almost seemed like he is moving up at a leisurely pace. The instructors and elders all had that feeling.

And they don't want that feeling to be true.

Because if it is, then the consequences of what is going to happen next will be a huge blow to their students and the academy reputation.

As they awaited, Sam crossed the eleventh floor and went to twelfth, with a perfect score. Pearl followed suit and she also hit the perfect score of thousand points in the eleventh. Then when he cleared the twelfth the pace of his points increasing didn't slow down and he still had the perfect score.

Pearl also did the same. She crossed floor with a perfect score, but the she is late.

By the time she finished the twelfth Sam is already two hundred points into the thirteenth. The instructors all gritted their teeth and one of the older elders who is at the back sighed and walked towards the Dean's office.

He is the first elder of the academy and he belongs to the same generation as the dean.

"Why did you let that kid attempt the tower ascension? Do you know how good he is before you made the decision?"

The Dean also sighed.

He knew from whatever stories he heard from Zeus or at least the lackeys of Zeus, Sam is a big trouble for their academy. But he still can't do much. Sam never asked for anything other than the ones he was given by the gods themselves.

And the Dean didn't really want to mess with a child who is probably one tenth his own age.

"I know what he is capable of. But I don't know to what extent. I can't do much. Let's just hope that this generation can hold him and build a tolerance to his genius."

"What do you mean tolerance?" The elder asked in confusion.

"Because from what I heard, he might be the first one here that came to disrupt our balance, but he is not going to be the last. This is just the beginning and the fate is going to head into a direction that we cannot predict because of these unknown variables of which Sam is a part of."

As the Dean sighed and spoke those words, the students finally noticed what the instructors are seeing. The First elder meanwhile in the office collapsed on the chair and said.

"This might break the students completely but the ones that don't will definitely be once in a generation level genius with excellence to back that talent up. Let's hope more people will do so."

As the two senior most people lamented about something, the students are witnessing it.

Sam cleared the thirteenth floor and the clear time is almost the same as twelfth and on top of that he has the perfect score once again.

Meanwhile, Pearl who cleared the floor a little later once again, didn't even have the perfect score. She only scored around nine hundred. A total loss of a hundred points. That is just the start.

Fourteenth floor. Sam finished first, Perfect score. Pearl finished seven minutes later. Score 850

Fifteenth floor. Sam finished first, Perfect score. Pearl finished eight and a half minutes later. Score 830

Sixteenth floor. Sam finished first, Perfect Score. Pearl finished nine minutes later. Score 826

Seventeenth floor. Sam finished first, Perfect Score. Pearl finished nine minutes and forty-five seconds later. Score 828

Twentieth floor. Sam finished first, Perfect Score. Pearl finished twelve minutes later. Score 750.

Twenty-fifth floor. Sam finished first, Perfect Score. Pearl finished fourteen minutes later. Score 700.

Twenty-Sixth floor. Sam finished first, Perfect Score. Pearl finished fifteen minutes later. Score 679.

Another one of their students broke the record, but none of the students are happy at the time. Instead they are sweating and they all had somber expressions on their faces. Just like the instructors and elders who realized that this situation will happen since the start.

Twenty-Seventh Floor. Sam finished first, Perfect Score. Pearl finished twenty minutes later. Score 620.

A massive drop in Pearl's score.

Twenty-Eight Floor. Sam finished first. Perfect score. Pearl finished half an hour later. Score 548.

Another massive drop.

Twenty-Ninth Floor. Sam finished first. Perfect Score. Pearl finished forty-five minutes later. Score 500.

Barely passed. Barely and before she could enter the thirtieth floor, Pearl was kicked out. Everyone looked at Sam who is already way ahead into the thirtieth floor. The pace with which his score is increasing didn't change at all.

His score is increasing slowly and steadily.

Everyone watched as he closed into the perfect score once again. But right when his score hit 999, all of a sudden it stopped.

The spectators felt like their breath is stopped in their lungs. They felt suffocated and some sort of craziness overwhelmed their minds. Some directly pulled their hair as they watched the tower door open and Sam walked out at a leisurely pace.

The same pace he had when he walked into the tower. As if he is going on an evening walk. With the hands in his pockets and a faint smile on his face.

And as he made his way out, every single student of the Zeus academy wanted to tear him apart. Kill him right there and then, but they knew they couldn't.

One of the instructors couldn't hold back and raised his hand to attack Sam.

Sam turned to him and smirked as if taunting him to do it. But there is no reaction from him. The instructor unwillingly put his hand down. He smashed the stone pillar beside him in anger as Sam sneered at him before leaving the academy.

Everyone watched as his shadow being cast into the academy because of the sunlight and they could only imagine it as the shadow cast by Sam on the Zeus academy with the biggest slap they could possibly feel on their faces.
