1845 Dead Forest
When the White Sand Guard looked at the forest in front of them, they were shocked to say the least.
In fact, Shocked is rather an understatement.
Every one of them has been to this place before. Dark Sea Sect has launched many attacks, both under the radar and above the radar on this place.
Even though the Dark Sea Sect didn’t break through this coastal line, it is still their favorite place to attack because the forces of the solar sect are very alert and on edge to protect this.
So, whenever Dark Sea Sect attacks another place and wants to attract some forces away from the Solar Sect, then they would send some troops here.
The battles here happen not so frequently, but they are fierce and this gave them many merits.
The forest in front of them is one of the great obstacles they faced time and again.
But when they looked at the forest now, they couldn’t relate it to the forest they knew previously.
The whole forest is completely filled with various vines and the trees are covered as well.

The vines are very similar to what Sam showed in the demonstration, but they are slightly different.
Apart from the appearance, another difference is that the vines are not actively absorbing the trees, even though they covered them like crazy.
But they couldn’t sense the presence of a single beast there.
Sam cracked his fingers and took out a crystal tablet. He looked at the situation in the deeper areas of the forest through the crystal table.
He nodded in satisfaction.
This vine is actually modified to serve Sam’s purpose. Even though they look at a lot of energy from the forest, it is not significant enough to completely wither the forest away.
Instead, they are currently gaining a lot of energy from the underwater elemental energy vines, they have spread deep into it.
The vines acted like regular creepers and go onto every single tree within the forest.
The only thing they devoured are the beasts, at least that is what the coast guards of the Solar sect and seven-star alliance thought.
The day Sam left, the vines started growing and soon they spread all over.
The soldiers reported it back immediately.
Seven Star alliance faction leaders immediately talked to Envoy Fog about the situation. They told them exactly what Sam told them.
In their eyes, the vines are the primary weapons of their enemies and they need Sam’s trees desperately. Luckily, even though Sam had left, they still have some spare seeds.
They hurriedly planted the seeds inside and outside the forest to absorb the vines.
And just like that for the past few days, the vines kept on growing and the trees kept on absorbing them while providing the fruits.
Envoy Fog squeezed the information out of the Seven Star alliance faction leaders regarding these fruits and in return, he ‘graciously’ gave them ten percent of the harvest.
In the past few days, the vines kept on giving out these fruits and their yield is very very high to the point, the harvest had to be carried every hour and each tree gave over four dozen fruits every hour.
The energy of the fruit benefited their cultivation greatly and everyone in the sect started taking it.
There are currently a few Divine Plane Pre-transcendent cultivators organizing the forest while a few more Pre-transcendent cultivators are organizing the transport of these through a space gate.
The land that was so against the space gates is now actively using it.
Since this is wartime, they are all trying their best to improve every single territory under them.
In fact, they even captured beasts from different regions and different elemental energies as they fed the vines.
This brought some different elemental fruits as well.
As Sam observed the growth of the vines, the presence of White Sand Guard already attracted the attention of the existing Divine Plane Pre-transcendent cultivators.
They ran through the forest and took some elevated positions as they gazed at the White Sand Guard.
“If it isn’t the White Sand Guard, it seems like they came to face another defeat.”
The person who is wearing the Solar Sect’s robe spoke arrogantly, but he didn’t come out of the forest.
They knew that the forest is one of the great defenses if the other party wants to enter the forest, they have to use spatial transference, but they would be immediately discovered and many people from Solar Sect will appear just to keep them there permanently.
And of course, that is not all the forest is capable of, there is more and that is the reason for these people’s courage.
They are trying to taunt them.
Sam just chuckled at this and clicked on the tab.
The elder in the solar sects’ attire recognized him immediately and was stunned. Before he could speak again though, he hurriedly leaped to the side.
A vine was about to creep over his body, but what he didn’t know is that he jumped from one vine to another one.
He struggled crazily as he saw all of his subordinates that are hurriedly harvesting the fruits were all being caught.
The Pre-transcendent cultivators that are responsible for sorting and transport, sensed this weird movement within the forest and immediately hurried over.
They were dumbfounded to see that these large vines hurriedly absorbed by every tree in the forest.
They are very thick, way too thick compared to what Sam showed in the demo because for a week they have been consuming a lot of energy from the mines directly.
If they didn’t grow well, nothing in the world will.
The White Sand Guard saw as their low-level opponents of theirs were being devoured by the vines and Sam’s trees that were planted within the forest by the Solar Sect were giving out a large number of fruits.
It is to the point, the fruits fell off the branches and formed some small heaps.
The Elder from the Solar Sect managed to get rid of the vines holding him and flew high into the air.
“You guys are up. I am sure, you can handle some aerial battle.”
The White Sand Guard came back to senses, the Captain made his move as he fought with the Elder. The Vice-captain and a couple of other senior members also didn’t waste any time.
As soon as the other Divine Plane-Pre-transcendent cultivators came from within the forest, they started engaging them.
They were outnumbered, but they are not really afraid, because their goal is to not have an all-out battle.
Rather, they just have to make them retreat into the forest.
While they are engaging in the air, Sam just sat leisurely on the harbinger as he operated a crystal tablet.
He could see the structure of the vine and its growth rate through it.
It is growing at a speed visible to the naked eye. The whole forest was devoured in no time. Obviously, a lot of trees within this forest are very special.
Otherwise, they couldn’t be used as nodes for a powerful formation like that.
The vines absorbed all of that power and soon the low-level members started falling, it took some time for the vine to subdue a Divine Plane Initiation cultivator, but it far less time to take down the second and even lesser time to take down the third.
It just went on like that very easily.
As the members fell one by one, the vines grew larger.
Sam used the tablet to stop the trees from absorbing the vine energy and producing fruits and he made the vines focus their strength on the high-level elites battling in the sky.
The captain noticed this and kicked his opponent back into the now-dead forest.
The vines entangled his legs as he tried to fly out and they even found a wound on his leg which they directly penetrated to enter his bloodstream.
In just a split second, the elder could feel a chunk of energy escaping from his leg.
Even White Sand Guard Captain noticed this and he made his move, he took out a bunch of pikes from his storage and started throwing them at the Elder.
The elder was stunned, he chopped the vine that coiled to his leg and tried to dodge the pikes, one of them hit him in the leg and slowed him down just for a moment.
The vines immediately came after him and now that there are two injuries as entry points, they started attacking him there.
Soon, the elder couldn’t hold anymore as a pike managed to hit his chest.
He fell into the forest and was soon devoured by the vines.
This caused the rest of the vines to strengthen and the remaining White Sand Guard started having a much easier time with their opponents.
Before they knew it, they swept the whole group of people, and the forest is rendered useless.
Now they only have to clean up the residual force.
Finally, the low-level members of the White Sand Guard had a task.
Meanwhile, Sam also made a move, but he didn’t attack anyone, instead, he went on to collect the fruits.
There are currently two types of fruits, the fruits that came from the trees that absorbed energy from vines and some fruits that just grew to the vines directly.
He collected the fruits on the vines and put them in his storage, meanwhile, he threw the fruits from the trees into a couple of storage rings and threw them away into the dead forest.
