1775 Mysterious Powerful guy

Sam looked at the young man nonchalantly.

“Who are you? Who do you work for?”

“I know you don’t work for Ross. Chasin doesn’t have enough capital to hire someone like you.”

“You are right, he doesn’t. This is kind of a voluntary situation.”

“Let me go. I will pay whatever he offered you.”

“Are you stupid? You just said that he cannot afford me and I said I am doing this voluntarily. What made you think that you can fucking buy me?”

Sam said as he closed his fist. All the wind birds that are flying around, zoomed towards the target and clashed at the centre of his abdomen. This caused a concentrated mini-tornado of windblades to occur in that small area, destroying him completely.

Sam just looked at him and in the surroundings. He picked one of the female corpses and used the spectre’s ability to suck the last remaining vitality from the very core of the body.

The body started withering quicker than it should.

.....

The energy that was sucked out of the body made the skin go dry. The flesh is dried out and the skin is sticking to the bones. The hair fell off.

Sam took out the blood he got from Maya and started injecting into dried-out dead body. Of course, it didn’t really make the body that different. Sam is just trying to cover some bases with this. First, the body is completely unrecognizable and the traces of the blood and hair he just attached will give the scent and some aura.

Sam destroyed the uterus of the deadbody and finally Sam closed his eyes and drew a very small inscription on the back of the deadbody. It dissolved into the spine and it started creating a very slight resonation.

The formation that imitated the faint residual aura of Maya.

He stored the prepared corpse and then went on to collect the corpses of the whole group. He used the dimensional drifter to go back to meet Captain Ross’ subordinate. He directly walked through the front door of the inn and met with the manager.

“Tell them, the mission is done.”

That is all he said. He just went back to his room waiting for the call.

Soon the manager came back running to his room.

“Sir, Captain Ross is calling you.”

“Lead the way.”

Sam didn’t care much about the manager’s reaction. The manager is shocked out of his wits. He didn’t expect that Sam would come back in less than an hour and say that the mission is done. It is obviously not believable.

But if it is, then in his eyes, Sam’s range increased by a thousandfold.

Sam walked to Captain Ross’ team.

Inside the room, there are ten people are sitting at different corners of the room. In the middle of it all stood a man behind a table. He had an aura of authority and arrogance.

“This manager said that you finished the mission. I don’t believe it. Are you really that good? Do you know the consequences of lying to me?”

Sam just sighed and waved his hand. A bunch of corpses piled up one after another.

And out of all of them, only two corpses caught that guy’s eyes.

The corpse of the target of course. Then there is the corpse that Sam himself prepared.

Currently, that corpse has the spatial ring, attire, and hair of a Maya. The aura is also faintly similar to Maya’s own aura.

Captain Ross obviously saw her before and when he sensed her presence, he felt like he fell into a dream. This is not something he expected.

“Whose corpse is this?”

He asked directly pointing at it.

“I don’t really know. It is like that by the time I reached there. It seems like there is some weird ritual going on and she is in the middle of an inscription circle. I just brought it back. I kind of feel like she is related to you guys. Otherwise, there is no reason for them to kill her in such a cruel way.”

“You… You come with me. We are going to meet Young master Chasin.”

Sam raised an eyebrow.

This is going way smoother than it should.

Sam didn’t even feel any pressure until now.

Within two hours, they directly went to meet the young master Chasin.

Sam got a good look at him. From the strength point of you, his instincts are telling him that Chasin is pretty decent for his level.

But he is still weak. His aura or demeanor are that of a great warrior or a killer. He is relatively mild in that sense. As Sam evaluated him, Ross already filled in the details.

Chasin held his blond hair in shock as he looked at Sam once again. He tried to pry and check Sam’s cultivation level, but he wasn’t able to do so, which made him a bit surprised.

“May I know who you are and what your objective here is? A person of your power should definitely not lack opportunities to work like a normal mercenary.”

“True. I just got bored as I was traveling. I heard that there is some excitement going on here. 25 organizations fighting each other. A good warzone. I don’t really care who I fight for. Your location is the nearest for me, so you got lucky.”

Everyone in the room got shocked.

Almost all the personnel in the room are either loyal subordinates and companions of Chasin or some elderly from the clan that support him.

This must be their base of operations for this large-scale war.

Sam looked around as he tried to find any trace of a child.

It seemed like he was being a bit too obvious.

“Are you searching for something?”

Sam stayed silent for half a second and spoke.

“No. I am just gauging how long it will take to kill all of you if I want to do so.”

Sam’s reply brought another cold silence to the room. Chasin shook his head to get out of the daze and looked at Sam. He felt like he got a jackpot. He felt like this is what he is looking for and Sam’s presence is going to solidify his position in the war.

“Sir, I will be straightforward with you. I want to enlist your service. Since you want war, you can fight my war on my behalf. Just tell me what you need for that.”

“I don’t mind fighting your war. But I need you to be honest with me. Why the fuck are twenty-five organizations fighting for little kids? What is so special about them?”

Sam asked so nonchalantly as if he couldn’t really see the point to it.

“How do you know that?”

Chasin suddenly became vigilant.

“Flea bugs in the next realm know this information. What do you think? Twenty-five organizations are openly fighting. Do you think information is hidden? At this point, there are almost no secrets. So, if you give me an answer, I might support you all the way.

And don’t try to brush me off. You can not afford me with your worth. So, when you are prepared to answer, you can contact me. Meanwhile, I will be off. I am hungry.”

Sam said as he rubbed his stomach and left the room.

One of Chasin’s subordinates, a direct bodyguard wanted to make a move.

“Stop…”

Before he could finish the sentence, a wind blade cut the arm he extended out. Sam didn’t even try to turn around or talk. He is still lazily rubbing his belly and the arm is cut off.

“Goodbye.”

That is all he said as he reached the door.

Sam disappeared but his image is stuck in their minds. Just like that, within a day, Sam already placed himself as some mysterious powerful guy in the minds of some stupids who started a war that is way beyond their scale.
