He Yuan sighed and did a patience chant before turning back around and walking towards them. "What?"
The Zhang madam choked and then her nostrils flared up. How dare he?! How could he be so rude to his mother-in-law? What kind of upbringing did he have at the Li mansion? She was beginning to loathe the day she went over to propose marriage to this mannerless omega.
Her sharp eyes looked over to Li Shiyu who was comforting her son. That was how a well bred omega should behave!
"Where are you always walking off to these days? Do you still remember you're a married omega?"
He Yuan rolled his eyes. "Does your son still remember he's a married alpha?'
The Zhang madam choked again and Li Shiyu stared at Zhang Jun with an aggrieved look. The alpha looked to the teary eyed Li Shiyu and then glared at He Yuan. "Do you think I want to be married to you? We wouldn't even be here if you just agreed to sign the divorce papers!"
He Yuan turned to leave but then decided to walk over to the kitchen instead. The servants were preparing dinner so this was the perfect opportunity to slip the concoction in. It would have no effects on anyone except Zhang Jun anyways.
The entire family just stared after He Yuan with wide eyes. The omega did not put them in his eyes at all!
He Yuan grabbed some milk from the fridge and then walked over to act like he was curious about what was being cooked. The servants stared at him with guarded looks but when they noticed that he did nothing but inhale and smile in satisfaction, they left him to get the table ready. He Yuan took this opportunity to slip the concoction in and then walked out with the milk.
When the table was prepared, they all sat around to eat. The Zhang madam kept throwing looks at He Yuan, who had a happy smile on his face. A short while later, she couldn't control herself and dropped her chopsticks with a clang.
"What are you so happy for? Do you know the company had been going through tough times these past weeks? Your husband has been stressed out to the max going from one place to another and instead of showing care, you go out to have fun everyday, what kind of a partner are you?!"
He Yuan rubbed his head. This woman was giving him a headache. When everything was rosy, she was the first to condemn Li Yexi and treat Li Shiyu like he was her real son-in-law but now that the Zhang conglomerate was in a puddle, she wanted Li Yexi to offer up his soul in order to appease her son. What sort of logic was that?
He was pretty sure the main reason she was after him like this was because she wanted Li Yexi to convince his brother to pool in the Li corporation resources to stabilize Zhang Jun's position as the CEO. It seemed the other shareholders were probably beginning to grumble at his constant failures.
He Yuan took two more bites of his food and then dabbed his mouth. "I'm not an employee in the company neither do I have any knowledge about business. How exactly am I supposed to help hmm?"
The family head cleared his throat and even Zhang Jun sat up straighter. "There seemed to be some deals that your husband has set his sights on and these deals happened to be the ones that have been drafted to the Li corporation. We're in-laws and should help each other out at tough times. If your husband should lose his position as CEO, it would give you no benefit. So if you c-"
"-If you're asking me to convince my brother to give up on those deals then I refuse." He Yuan said calmly. Did the Zhangs think that he was a fool? They were clearly aware that the Li family pampered Li Yexi to the max and would give in if he asked as long as it would make his position in the Zhang family more stable.
Even if Li Anjing now hated the Zhangs to the bones, the doting father would still swallow the trouble and do it as long as his youngest would be happy. Li Shu was just the same and whilst he disagreed with their overpampering of Li Yexi, it wasn't his place to meddle.
And what was with this 'your husband this', 'your husband that?' Are the Zhangs just remembering that Li Yexi and Zhang Jun were married? Were they scared he would forget that they were married if they didn't constantly remind him?
Lastly, even if he was foolish enough to open his mouth to Li Shu, there was no way Li Shu could hand out those deals without huge consequences as they had already been moved over to the new company under the table.
Zhang Jun smacked the table. "What are you being so stingy for? It's only temporary and I would give them even better deals in the future. You better not forget that I also have shares in the Li corporation!"
He Yuan laughed. "What can your meagre 5% of shares do? If you could get what you want with just that amount of shares would there be any need coming to ask me for help?
-Zhang Jun aren't you being too shameless? You reject me at every turn but when you get yourself in a mess, you turn to me and automatically expect me to help you like it is my obligation. Are you drunk? Why didn't you ask Li Shiyu to hand you deals on a platter?"
Li Shiyu's eyes reddened and he looked to He Yuan. "Yexi please don't be like that. I trust Zhang Jun. If he says he would give the Li family better deals in the future then he would surely give them better deals." He cast his eyes down. "If only I hadn't sold off my shares back then I-"
"You would what?" He Yuan cut the omega off with a glare. "Hand over the deals that were already under the Li corporation to Zhang Jun? Are you an idiot? It's a good thing the Li corporation did not end up in your hands else you would've have ruined it with your incompetence!"
He threw down his chopsticks and directly walked off. Li Yexi would not have been able to figure it out but he once owned his own company and was pretty clear on what Zhang Jun was trying to do. What was that nonsense about giving them better deals? Stupid lies. Zhang Jun couldn't wait to bring them down so how could he give them better deals?
He hadn't even talked about the blow the Li corporation would receive by handing over deals that had already been signed under them. If he had truly agreed then who would ever trust the Li corporation with deals ever again? They would just directly go over to the Zhang conglomerate to cooperate with!
After that night, he completely ignored the Zhangs and acted like he was just roommates with them. This went on until two weeks later, he'd just returned from the Li family home and the Zhangs alongside Li Shiyu were having a little celebration. It was quite late so the kids must be in bed.
What were they celebrating? He had no idea and felt uncomfortable with that. He observed Zhang Jun, the medicine was already working but it was a little slow. This was because, he couldn't perfectly recreate the concoction with the ingredients he found in this realm but he was sure the effects were good enough.
The Zhangs noticed him and they all sent him gloating smiles. Li Shiyu held Zhang Jun's arms and the alpha rubbed the omega's lower back with eyes full of adoration. Even the family head and Zhang madam were looking at Li Shiyu with eyes full of appreciation and approval.
He Yuan turned to the stairs. "What's up with them?"
