What could have caused you and Mr. Yang Xue to drift apart in the first place? Was there really no questionable relationship between the both of you?"
Ding Weimin remained silent but his face felt hot and his fists were clenched under the table. Just how did he end up in such a situation? If only he hadn't given in to temptation back then and gotten involved with Yang Xue.
Admittedly, the mandron was very beautiful and difficult to resist but it wasn't worth the headache he was getting from being put under the spotlight in a bad way and being dissected by the judgemental stares of everyone.
His eyes trailed to Jin Qi only to find that she was already looking at him. She gave him a smile and he only nodded stiffly in return. Jin Qi was beautiful, talented, strong, decisive and many more beautiful things but... She didn't make him feel the same passion that Yang Xue made him feel.
If he was asked to describe how he had felt about Yang Xue when they had been together, it would be somewhere between love and hate. The mandron had been sweet, cheerful and very likeable but then again, he was a mandron and even worse, a male.
His mind went to the last time he'd laid eyes on the mandron in the military hospital. Yang Xue had looked the same but every single bit of his innocent cheerfulness had been scrubbed clean from his demeanor. The eyes that had stared at him that day were so cold, he felt a shudder whenever he thought about it.
He was very much aware that he'd wronged the mandron in so many ways but he just couldn't help it. It had all been a series of unfortunate circumstances piled on a heap. From his family almost finding out that they'd been together and pushing them apart to the event at the second Xor queen cave.
Even now he had no choice but to wrong the mandron again. If the entire Federation were to find out about them having been together then his entire reputation would crumble to dust. A select few might offer their support but he knew very well that he would not be as worshiped and admired as he was now. His stellar reputation meant everything to him.
At that moment, Xia Yuyue let out a sigh and pinched her forehead tiredly. "Min'er, it's no use remaining silent in order to protect him. Things have already gotten to this stage and the truth would be out sooner or later. Why not just say everything and let the people judge for themselves?"

The plasma suddenly went off at that point and 888 turned to look at the control in his He Yuan's hands. The Dings had revealed their stand on the issue and pushed all blame on Yang Xue which meant that his host was going to face all the heat from the media and the population at large. "What are you going to do?"
He Yuan placed the control by his side and shrugged. "Nothing."
888 blinked. "Nothing?"
He Yuan nodded. "Hm. What could be done? Even if I were to go outside and bleed my throat dry trying to explain things, who would believe Yang Xue was innocent?
-On one side is their beloved General who had once sacrificed himself for millions of his soldiers and on the other side is a lowly mandron who everyone already believes had tried to seduce said general. The odds are clearly-"

Both men turned to the entrance of the living room at the same time to see a very angry Yang Zhi coming in through the door with his four children right behind him.
All five people looked quite disheveled. He Yuan raised a brow and slowly turned away, pretending not to have already seen them.
"Yang Xue!" Yang Liqin screamed angrily. "You still have the nerve to show up here after all the trouble you caused?!"
He Yuan slowly turned to face them with wide eyes. "What trouble?"
Yang Zhi's finally realized that He Yuan was present and he glared angrily at him. This current situation could have been cleanly avoided if Yang Xue had not left Earth in the first place!
The more he had waited for Yang Xue to return, the more time passed and the faster the end of General Ding's vacation came. When he'd received news of the engagement party four days ago, he'd panicked and quickly thought of this method to hold off the party.
Who knew that nothing would go as he planned and the news would end up receiving so much resistance? The Ding family were already on his trail and, even if he'd handled everything as anonymously as possible, there was still a chance that they could discover that the entire issue was his own doing!
How was he meant to get himself out of this?!
Yang Teng looked from his father to Yang Xue and then he frowned at his mandron sibling. "You really tried to seduce General Ding?"
He Yuan stared at him nonchalantly for a couple of seconds before slowly asking, "Says who?"
"Don't try to deny it!" Yang Liu cut in swiftly. "There are tons of reporters camping outside the mansion as proof. Do you know how difficult it was for us to get in?!
888 bit the inside of his cheek to keep himself from laughing but still failed to hold in his laughter in the end. That was the reason they all looked like they were mauled by bears?
Yang Xiang just stood to the side glaring at He Yuan with so much hatred. General Ding was Jin Qi's fiance and Jin Qi was Jin Rusheng's sister. Just thinking of how this situation could ruin her chances with president Jin made her want to claw Yang Xue's eyes out.
Yang Zhi finally raised a hand to silence everyone. He'd suddenly thought of an idea. If he could somehow prove that Ding Weimin and Yang Xue had indeed been together then all this would be a problem of the past. His lips thinned in contemplation as he subconsciously said out loud, "In fact, there's nothing particularly wrong with General Ding and Yang Xue being together."
He Yuan and 888 sneered in their minds whilst the heads of the Yang children whipped in their father's direction so fast He Yuan heard a neck crack.
Yang Liu looked at her father like he'd just vomited a frog as she asked. "Father... Do you know what you're saying?"
Yang Zhi 's eyes widened when he realized himself but in the end, he waved at her dismissively. "Yes. Yang Xue..." He looked a liitle constipated as he slowly continued, "...Loves the general and they had actually been together. I don't see why anyone should tear them apart."
Now the faces of the Yang younger generation turned to He Yuan with bewildered expressions. Yang Teng was the most shocked. "You and General Ding were together?!"
