A few minutes earlier***

"Peri, I will summon Renexa, but it will cost me a lot of energy, so when I call Renexa's name, you must stay on the left side and when he appears, use all your power to erase his memory!" He commanded this little spirit.

*pure* *pur*

"Renexa, I am calling for you!" Lucas straightened his hand and squeezed the remaining fingers together with his index and middle fingers extended.

His hands shook a little and the veins became more visible with the pressure he was now applying.

The white bird appeared in front of him, nodded its head, and greeted its master.

Amazing white wings fluttered in the air, showing what a graceful creature it was.

"Renexa, fly into the air and when I call your name, use your wings to attack the target!" Lucas commanded the white phoenix as if it was something simple.

The bird listened to its master and pressed its wings to fly quickly into the air. In a few seconds, it was about 30 meters above Lucas and the ghost Peri.

"This has to work!" Lucas hoped it would work, he was close to them.

****Present****

"Renexa, now!" Lucas shouted loudly, confusing the man in the black coat.

"What did he do?" was an expression on this person's face, Lucas could not see it but it seemed obvious to him when this man lifted his head.

The white phoenix appeared in front of Lucas, hid its body from this man, pulled its wings back, and thrust forward with full energy and force.

He caused a strong wind to come up in front of Lucas so that his body slid back of its own accord without Lucas trying.

Sharp, glassy shards of wind struck the dark-robed man, "aah, where did that come from?" He hid his face with his hands to avoid being attacked.

This attack robbed him of his concentration and he fell out of the hole onto the ground.

'I hope you enjoyed that.' Lucas could hardly suppress his joy when he saw the man fall, but he could not just stand there.

Knowing how much mana Renexa needed and how much energy it would drain from Lucas, he had to take every opportunity to bring this man down with all his strength.

"Renexa, one more time!" He commanded the white phoenix.

A sudden burst of stabbing pain in his chest began to pierce his heart, Lucas grimaced in pain and fell to his knees. He put his hand on his rib and began to squeeze it harder.

'Cough,' the red, wine-like blood was flung from Lucas's mouth. He clutched his hand tightly as the pain struck the upper part of his body one more time.

*Roaaar*

Kali raised her head and roared when she saw Lucas on his knees, holding his body with one hand.

*Roaaar*

Kali's muzzle was also marked by pain, but even with her barely functioning jaw she managed to roar.

She turned to face the man who had been attacked yet another time by the majestic bird she had seen a few times, and planting her front foot, she drew back her neck and began to absorb fire into her throat.

Lucas knew immediately what Kali was up to, she was a dragon. She breathes fire.

'If she burns him alive now, we will not be able to get him to Haya and Xina, we need him alive.' A brief thought ran through his mind and he pulled himself together.

"Kali, do not do it!" With an outstretched hand, he shouted to his comrade, hoping she would desist from what she was about to do.

Kali froze.

The attack she was about to let go of disappeared and she no longer felt the burning heat in her throat, she stopped.

Lucas wiped the blood from his lips and looked at her, eyes full of hope he whispered, "I am sorry..." Kali could not hear him well, but she could read from his lips.

Lucas turned his gaze back to the man lying on the ground and forced his legs to move forward.

He walked slowly as the stabbing pain returned with every breath, it was time for him to let Renexa go, he looked at the white phoenix and nodded slightly as if to tell him to go now.

The white phoenix flapped its wings and vanished into thin air, "it's time," Lucas bent down to grab another stone, "time for a rematch," he spoke as irritation rose within him.

This time the stone was a little bigger than the first one he had thrown at him, "It's over for you, uugghh." He groaned as his face contorted with pain in his lower body.

Lucas was near the man who had beaten Kali up, and as he looked down at him from above, he found his situation pathetic.

Normally he would not hit a person lying helpless on the ground, but this man had hurt Kali, so he did not care. And this world was strange to him, this man was already attacking everyone from behind now, so they couldn't hit back.

That thought made Lucas' blood boil even more, so he tightened the stone in his hand and swung it at this man.

The man in the black robe moved aside, he was just pretending to be knocked down by Renexa.

The black hole appeared beneath him and immediately sucked him into it without Lucas's blow reaching his body, 'how predictable...' Lucas pulled up the corners of his lips and turned to his left side, knowing that the man would appear there.

The autumn-looking sky was looking dark and vengeful right now. Streaming veils of clouds snaked and twisted. The wind whipped up to fury. It was a shrieking, wailing omen of the carnage to come.

The clouds raced across the sky, vibrating with the charged energy they were desperate to release. It began again with large, dripping drops of moisture.

Falling raindrops cleansed Lucas' bloody face, mixed with red paint the water fell on Lucas' already-soaked clothes.

He breathed in and waited for his enemy to reappear, "there you are," he sighed briefly, no longer surprised but disappointed at this attack.

Lucas had anticipated his actions and planned everything in advance.

The dark, night hole began to expand again and Lucas felt more comfortable being able to foresee his attacks, turning his body completely to face him.

The man moved his head first, he had a wide smile on his face that reminded Lucas of an Izek,

'you are all the same here... ' He spoke to himself, lowering his lips and letting the sarcastic smile disappear from his face, Lucas was ready to hear what this man wanted to say.

"It's over." He spoke in his cracking robotic voice. The man raised his staff and aimed it at Kali with a maniacal smile.

This was not even a surprise to Lucas, he sensed this man was cunning and Lucas silently thanked God for his common sense.

Lucas moved his head to the side and spoke,

"It's over when I say it's over, Peri!"
