The man looked a few years older than him. His bright, hazel eyes stared at Lucas as if he wanted to cut his head off.

Kali strode towards the guy and glared at him. Before he could react, Kali poked at him with her sharp claw and yelled, "Stay away from him!"
"Easy, the system sent me to you." The man wiped his blade with a grip. "Apparently you two need my help." He turned, his expression a mixture of annoyance and surprise at the two of them.
"Then why didn't the system say anything to us?" Lucas clenched his fists.

His dark circles under his eyes were very visible, he looked as if he hadn't slept for a while, which made his white skin go dry.
"How do we know you're telling the truth?" Kali replied to his ignorant question.

Lucas hated the way his voice squeaked when he was tense, "That depends on what you want to fight..."
"Rayrax is a giant crocodile." The man replied to Lucas' absurd question.
'A giant crocodile? His feet went cold after hearing this, he could not move a muscle no matter how hard he tried, 'not that feeling again?' he tried to fumble his thumb.
"How big is it?" Lucas stammered, making his voice sound dry.
"Do not tell me you are scared now?" The man raised one of his eyebrows and pursed one corner of his lips. "Do not worry, I'll protect you then."
The man's arrogant tone struck a chord with Lucas' ego, 'I will not let you do that.' He managed to get a grip on his emotions. This was not a moment for him to panic, Kali was there and he had to protect her at all costs.
Lucas took a step forward and stared at the guy with a look of anger, his eyebrows furrowed and the wrinkles on his forehead appeared like the waves in the ocean. "The only one who needs protection here is you."

The voice disappeared again and a small blue pill fell from the sky onto Lucas' palm, 'please work.' He closed his eyes and whispered as he squeezed the pill in his hands.
This time he did not even look at the pill, but placed it on his tongue, holding his hand in front of his mouth. He swallowed it.
Nothing happened again, no strong electric shock or any side effect, 'does not it work?' Lucas' voice sounded disappointed.
He lowered his head and bit his lips, 'the damn system lied again' He tensed his muscles and his teeth grinned.
"What just happened?" The guy stepped back a little. "What ability is that?" He scratched his forehead with one of his fingers.
"Do not worry about it." Replied Kali in Lucas's place.

A squeaking and annoying sound filled the forest, lifting the ground full of fallen dark brown leaves into the air.
"That thing is approaching." The newcomer spoke louder to tell them to keep an eye on their surroundings.
"Do not worry, it's not the first time we have approached a monster." Lucas immediately replied in a deeper voice than usual.
From Kali's point of view, his voice sounded different; she had never heard him speak like that before. It was deep and mature, very different from Lucas' still-changing teenage voice.
It seemed to Kali that Lucas was a different person.
"We should make a plan to defeat him." The man with no name interrupted again.
"We do not need to come up with a plan, I already have one." Lucas replied and grinned at the man.
Even to this new man, it looked like Lucas' personality had changed. "Okay, so what's your plan now?" He asked Lucas in a lower tone.
Lucas lifted his lowered head, smiled and let a confident sigh escape his mouth. He crossed his arms and replied with a devilish expression on his face, "We are going to run."
Without hesitation and without waiting for an answer, he turned to the east and began to run.
"Lucas, you fuxker! Where are you going?"
