Chapter 96 96:Soul Entrapment

Hella immediately turned around, and twisting her torso gave a roundhouse kick but Leon's image flickered in the darkness and her kick met empty.

Alarmed by this, she took a step back in fear but flinched back when she felt a tight hold on her nape, and her vision distorted as her face crashed onto the ground.

BANG!

A dent formed on the concrete ground.

Leon raised her with a gruesome smile and was about to slam it when Hella whipped her hand at Leon's face which he avoided narrowly but weirdly, he felt a suction force from her palm and she managed to touch his face.

The moment she did this, her lips curled upwards.

"It's over."

"Huhh!"

Much to Leon's dismay, a bright light erupted from Hella's eyes.

Leon felt his consciousness sucked somewhere, along with the feeling of someone grabbing his hair and pulling him into the unknown. His vision constantly flickering and started turning black.

However, instead of fear, a hint of excitement surfaced over his face.

"Interesting!"

That's the last thing he muttered before passing and when his vision returned, he saw a completely different scene from the place that had been just there.

It was a world of gray. The slums, the rubbles, and death everything disappears leaving behind a world filled with loneliness that starts distorting, and in such a world, Leon starts to lose himself.

Unlike others, who always had regret for being unable to become cultivators and follow the superhuman path, it wasn't in Hella's case because the power she awakened could dismantle any cultivator with a mere thought.

No one in the same realm was able to withstand her physical attack and even those above had to suffer severe damage.

As long as one soul was vulnerable, her attack would work. However, that wasn't the limit to her powers.

She can make one hallucinate, manipulate one mind, control them, and even transfer her into that person for a brief moment.

The current attack was her supernatural ability that extract the soul of a person and trap it in an isolated world of myriad illusions controlled by her.

By doing this not only she can read through the memories and see the sweet memories, but she can trap the person in an endless dream while she can take over the person's body and use it as a puppet.

However, the prerequisite for this technique is to touch the person whom she wants to perform the trick on. Secondly, if she fails for some reason the backlash she was gonna suffer was quite severe.

"Let's see what we have here."Hella smiled softly and searched for the person's happy memories and emotions.

However....

"What?"

A scream of bewilderment and shock escaped from her lips as she found nothing.

A person's happy memories and emotions would be shown in orbs of various colors.

Happiness is bright yellow, fear in light black, sadness in pitch dark, anger in red, love in pink, greed in green, lust in purple.

But there was none.

Everything was darkish gray. A color that represents the feeling of nothing.

As if the person was incapable of feeling anything and as per the happy memories, a few orbs were floating around but it was too low.

Her curiosity was piqued, so she decided to pick one of the orbs and see herself to understand the person.

The scene was distorted, and she appeared in a park.

In the middle of the park, a small boy of around 4 laughed as a middle-aged man behind pushed the swing further and further.

Each upward wag was accompanied by a gleeful giggle, and the simple joy of the moment paints a picture of innocence and carefree happiness.

What intrigued Hella was the boy's appearance.

"I know people change as they grow older but the difference between the two is like heaven and hell. No, maybe he is in disguise."Hella concluded roughly.

The man who seemed to be the boy's father stopped the swing and, pointing in a certain direction, walked after whispering something into the boy's ears.

Whatever comes next might have brought great joy to the boy's lips but Hella decided to use her power to change it and give the boy a wonderful nightmare that was gonna last long enough to traumatize his life even if he managed to get out.

"Let's play."

With sinister laughter, Hella extended her hands. The gray world without any color started to fluctuate.

But just as she started changing the flow of events, as the boy reached the peak of his swing, an unnatural chill permeated the air. In an unsettling twist, the swing abruptly rotates 180°in the mid-air, causing the boy to face Hella with an expression frozen in an unsettling grin.

Hella's heart raced and a shiver crawled down her spine as the once-happy scene transformed into something unexpected she never imagined in her wildest dream.

"ARGHHHH!"

Hella let out a frightened cry seeing the blood-curdling smile on the boy who had hollow eyes tricking with blood.

With an eerie laughter similar to nails scratching on a metal surface, the boy spoke coldly.

"What happened?"

"Are you shocked? Are you afraid?"

"Ho...How are you still conscious?"Hella stuttered a bit.

'Calm down Hella! This is my world. I owned this place and I am the strongest here one can defeat me.'

"I don't know how you managed to manipulate things in my own world but it's over."

As if there were no restraints on Hella anymore, a bloody power burst forth from her whole body that quickly dominated the gray world and dyed the entire world in red.

Hella transformed her image into something frightening.

Many pairs of beastly heads and many pairs of reddish eyes arose. She looked like a crazy Demoness, the one parents tell their kids when they behave naughtily.

The boy grasped his chin with a serious look while the swing swayed to and fro, and asked with a questioning gaze.

"If my understanding is correct all of this is based on the assumption that your soul is stronger than the enemy."

"So what?"Hella asked with a grin.

"Then is your soul stronger than mine?"

Hella, who looked like a Bloody Demoness, lowered her head with a blood-red smile on her face. The answer to the question has already been decided. At least that's what Hella thought...

"Then why don't I test it out?"

A quiet voice flew out of Leon's mouth, neither bewilderment nor fear of the unknown existed in Leon who slowly raised his head.

It was a look of joy and excitement to test his limit.

Ever since he had been trapped in this body, he had always thought of one thing.

Is he the Leon of that world who crossed over here or is he the true Leon who gained the memories of his previous life or is this some kind of manipulation of Vesturon?

The question might be useless for some but for him, it matters cause this might prove to be a crucial point later.

His Martial Spirit might have given him proof but that wasn't enough. But now when Hella's attack directly struck the soul, the memories she unearthed from his soul weren't of this world Leon but of his.....

Then the question arises, just how strong is his soul?

Now it was time to find that answer.

In a world controlled by Hella where even a Martial Emperor might fight it is difficult to get out if trapped, a world which has been completely covered by Hella's power.

In such a world...

A foreign yet sinister darkness began to descend.
