Chapter 165 165:An Advice?

Inside the box, there was a small piece of parchment over which a few words were written.

Leon with his trembling hands read through it.

Things might not always go as we wanted.

The future might be bleak but you're not the one responsible for it.

You don't need to drown in guilt and blame yourself for other misfortune.

Regrets won't change yesterday.

Anxiety won't change tomorrow.

Just give all and ram the ones you need to ram in the present.

"Huh? What does he want to say?"Leon was about to put the back paper when he saw another inscription at the back.

Leon then flipped the paper over and there was another part.

They aren't mere shadows, there aren't mere puppets.

They are the flickering embers that will accompany you to avert the darkness

Understand them, listen to them, and form a connection with them to make them substantial and ethereal, only then they will show their true wrath making your foes tremble.

'I can feel something but I can't just get the hang of it and it feels as if Leon knew what was going to happen like me coming over.'

The first was one-like advice on a broader perspective as if he was talking about Leon's past life while the second one seems to have something about them or more like this power.

'Maybe this guy can see the future or something.'

'Truly a troublesome kid? Wait at the end isn't it me? Does that mean if I curse him, I am cursing myself?"

Leon sighed, putting back the parchment.

It seems he needs to find his old man before he goes crazy and loses himself.

"Did I say anything when I gave you this?"

Su Lin frowned seeing Leon's questioning gaze and tried to remember that day.

"Hmmm! You didn't say that to me but you mumbled something that you needed to make a quick decision otherwise you will lose yourself."

Leon scratched his head falling into deep contemplation.

Many question marks appeared like if he wanted to give this message why pass it through Su Lin instead of following the easy route?

'Unless that playboy wanted to make Su Lin fall for him, I can't think of another reason.'

"AARGHHH!"Leon ruffled his hair with irritation.

This was so frustrating.

"Leon, will you ..."

His years of novel knowledge were telling him that he shouldn't ignore this but it wasn't making sense. Like what did he need to decide particularly and was this message expected to reach him during this period or was it late?

Leon started to feel deja vu for some reason.

'Did I make a mistake by coming here and something bad happened outside?'

Once such thoughts bloomed in his heart, it was difficult to keep his mind at bay.

'Sophia….'

"Leon, are you alright?"Su Lin asked worriedly.

"Yeah, I am."

UUUU!

"It seems we need to gather up," Su Lin sighed in regret. She wanted to spend a bit of time with Leon alas she needed to follow orders.

The sound of a horn blew along with drums signaling everyone to gather for the march.

.....

At the front of the gathered troops Commander Mac, Cameron, and Irina stood with an icy expression.

For some odd reason, Cameron stood far away from Irina as if he was afraid of something which satisfied Leon greatly for some reason.

Mac took the stage and began the speech with a light cough.

"Due to Commander Irina and Cameron's assistance, we have rested well enough to recover our spirits. From now we will move jointly with Rose and White Tiger troops."

When Mac said this, the soldiers around Leon whispered.

"Wow, they have cool names?"

"What about ours?"

Excitement rose among the fellow soldiers only to be poured cold water by Ian.

"We don't have any special name. We are just the 31st regiment."

"What?"

"Why?"

"Disciples "Vice-Commander Thane growled fiercely at the people whispering.

Mac then provided the ins and outs of the situation.

They were now five days away from the base where all troops were supposed to gather. The monster, being clever, wouldn't sit back and watch so he asked them to prepare for a fierce resistance and brutal fight along the way.

Amid the speech, Leon could feel eyes aiming at him from the front. Meeting those gazes, Leon could already understand the feelings conveyed by those warm gazes.

It was like his mother mumbling and crying inside.

OH, my poor boy? What is he doing here? Just what the hell has he gone through to reach here? How much pain did he suffer? I am just a useless mother.

Leon averted his gaze, unable to bear it.

'It seems they had a good relationship until something happened.'

"To avert further inconvenience, we will advance as soon as possible so hasten your belts and begin the march."

"YES SIR!"

"YES SIR!"

With that cry, the whole place shook as the troops were mobilized carrying their march.

Cameron and Irina also did the same.

And at the front of the soldier, of course, Leon was looking around with his sharp hawk-like gaze.

The air he breathed felt heavy, and the smell of blood wafted through the air.

All the disturbing thoughts running through his mind vanished as if they never existed leaving behind a cold merciless war machine.

They crossed over the long grasses.

Monsters with a greenish body lay inside to sneak but they were uprooted and cut into tatters.

WAAAAAAA!

Cries of agony rang like a symphony of music symbolizing the end.

Cameron's lead and his tactics of diversion, scouting, formation, and leading were way beyond their league.

Each squad of his moved as if they had one mind coordinated by a different body. Similarly, the stamina of a woman in Rose's troops was incredible.

It was so incredible that the 31st regiment started crying and shed tears of blood due to being unable to follow the lead.

Irina and Cameron's assistance proved to be a blessing, otherwise the way things were going, leaving a handful of few, Leon was sure everyone's 31st regiment would be annihilated.

The troops of their regiment stitched together were completely newbies whereas those from families had trained and good experience.

Leon noticed the severity of the monster's attack on them was decreasing. Compared to the first few days it didn't hold a candle.

Even Cameron and Irina felt this odd nevertheless with full cautiousness they continued the march.

They managed to pass through the place near a huge Black Fortress that stood menacing amongst the mist and fog.

That was the base of the monster and everyone was terrified as they passed from the path that was a few miles away from the place.

It was a dreadful situation as time a Monster army could confront them. Fortunately, no one attacked and they managed to pass through the place.

And they managed to reach the base with fewer casualties. Out of 3000 troops, only 600 had died, and sadly two out of four-

part casualties were from the 31st regiment.

Everyone thought they could relax but after reaching the stronghold base the light-hearted atmosphere immediately turned grave when they heard the report of the other side.

Out of all forces having almost 50000 troops, only 29000 managed to reach here, and 6 regiments were annihilated leaving a selected few to escape and sing the tale of horror.
