Chapter 313-Auction hall

Roco felt embarrassed, his face red with shame. He had no thoughts of revenge; instead, he planned to flatter Dave and establish a connection with him.

Dave nodded as he collected all his wealth. His clothes could sell at high prices, and there were many spirit stones in the spatial ring.

"Now that you've returned my treasures, I will forgive you. But you must ask forgiveness from that kid," Dave said.

Roco nodded and kneeled in front of Jiang Chen. "Please forgive my actions. I was blinded by greed," he said, sweating and feeling immense shame, but determined to live on without caring about it.

Jiang Chen was amazed and unsure how to handle the situation. The once arrogant young master was now begging for mercy in front of him. Jiang Chen understood that this was the display of power, something only someone like young master Dave could do. He also sensed danger from Dave but was relieved that Dave wasn't his enemy and had been kind to him.

Though angry at Roco, Jiang Chen saw that Young Master Dave forgave him. He decided to let it be because he admired Dave's benevolence.

...

Inside the carriage, Dave and Grace sat close to each other, with Jiang Chen in front of them. Roco, wearing only underwear, drove the carriage pulled by unicorns. The scene would have been majestic if not for Roco's outfit.

Many women saw Roco and shouted at him for being shameless, but he had to bear it as he couldn't afford to offend Dave. To gain Dave's favor, he had informed him about the Alexander Auction Hall, where there were many good treasures and a rumored item about to be auctioned. Dave became interested and commanded Roco to lead the way.

Dave decided to bring Jiang Chen along and talk to him. Upon scanning Jiang Chen, he realized he was a protagonist-type character with overflowing luck. Dave knew that even if he hadn't saved Jiang Chen earlier, he would still be fine and eventually benefit from the experience, becoming stronger. On the other hand, Roco might have sought revenge, and Jiang Chen could have been hunted down by Roco's family.

In essence, Dave's intervention saved Jiang Chen from enduring more chapters of suffering and gave Roco more exposure in the story. Now, Roco acted like a loyal dog to Dave.

The plot had been set, so Dave decided to interfere further and befriend Jiang Chen, making him owe a favor. He had learned about Jiang Chen's origin from the sword art he displayed. He had asked Old Ming about many things, and Old Ming had told him about the five sword saints in the Alexander Clan. One of them was called the Mist Sword Saint, known for being elusive and preferring a simple life. The Mist Sword Saint was a True Saint being and had been incredibly loyal to the clan for thousands of years. Dave found it surprising that Jiang Chen didn't know this information, but he assumed it was part of the protagonist's training and thus kept it from him.

Dave planned to find the old man (the Mist Sword Saint) and get some sword ideas from him to strengthen his swordsmanship. He was also intrigued by Jiang Chen's physique called the Sword Immortal Body. It was on par with his own Sword Heart Body, but it had different abilities. The Sword Immortal Body allowed its owner to control any sword at will, absorb swords to strengthen the body and comprehension and wield any sword art with ease.

Given that Jiang Chen's name had appeared in other novels about sword experts, Dave believed he would become a formidable figure in the future. He saw his investment in befriending Jiang Chen as worthwhile and thought that Jiang Chen would be useful to him in the long run.

The Sword Immortal Body was useless to Dave, and the system hadn't given him a mission related to it. Right now, he was more interested in the upcoming auction, where some main character would likely offend some powerful figures over an item. Others might raise the price of an item during the auction, only to give up and tease the other party. There might even be a beautiful elf or a seemingly worthless treasure that was actually valuable, causing a stir during the auction. After the auction, someone might try to attack them to snatch the treasure and threaten them to use their clan name and status.

...

Alexander Auction Hall.

Dave looked out of the carriage window and saw a 100-meter-tall building with many people lining up. The guards emitted a strong aura on par with Yudi, preventing any troublemakers.

Many people were excited to enter the auction hall, and numerous prestigious individuals were present, eager to obtain valuable treasures. However, not everyone could enter; they either needed to pay a significant entrance fee or be a loyal customer or VIP.

Owned by the matriarch, this auction hall was off-limits for chaos.

When people saw the carriage and Roco, they were stunned and laughed at his outfit. Though Roco was used to such reactions, he proudly sneered at them and said, "Give way, young master Dave is inside."

He then took out a token carved with the text "Alexander," amazing everyone present. Only true bloodline members possessed such tokens. Those who had accomplished great feats only had star tokens, which allowed them to skip inspection at the portal and directly enter the domain. On the other hand, the token with "Alexander" was the highest honor, reserved only for direct descendants. Those who received it were either greatly appreciated by the patriarch and the supreme elder or had achieved significant merits.

As for why Dave had such a token, it was because his father had given it to him, explaining that it was a gift from the matriarch. Dave had a positive impression of the matriarch, despite her being feared by others, and he planned to give her a significant gift on her birthday.
