When Kans looked at me, there was a hint of pity in his eyes that even he didn’t realize. I had always been raised by my father as a future Alpha, so I’d never received such a look before. It kind of reminded me of….a stray dog on the roadside.

I didn’t think that I missed a beat but Kans saw through me too easily. He scratched his cheek with his index finger and embarrassedly said, “I have a house nearby. You can stay there.”
I was a little surprised. After all, we were currently in a very remote place surrounded by woods, very far from the city center. Being in such a place was actually quite unlike Kans who was one of those people who liked to buy their coffee from a cafe.
And unsurprisingly, Kans saw through my doubts too as he covered his head and started to laugh. “The scenery here is great so I thought it would be the perfect place to spend my older years with my mate.” As he spoke, his wheat-colored cheeks turned red.

His father was my father’s most loyal elder. And now that my father had cut off all ties with me, his father definitely wouldn’t accept me coming into contact with Kans.
But on the other hand, I really had no other solution. I couldn’t expect to live a normal life so easily with my current situation. I was in a dilemma.

Kans was standing behind her and heard what she had said. He started to look a little unhappy and quickly pulled Yili away to grab me so that he could also take a good look. “You must be mistaken. How can Ellie lose weight with me taking care of her?”
