[Covering] is the third and the latest technique Alex has learned in these months.
[Covering] is a technique Alex learned after buying a book on it for 2 million Pokedollars. when using this skill, it turns Psychic energy into a substance that amplifies everything it touches.
These exact "Enhancements" are user-selectable, and the strength of these enhancements depends on the mastery of that skill and the amount of Psychic Energy used.
However, Alex can only use this technique on himself or objects that he is constantly touching.
He can make a wooden stick as hard as an iron staff by using [Covering]. But as soon as he lets go of that wooden stick, it will stop being as hard as an iron staff.
[Covering] is also a skill that is an "increased consumption" type and the longer this skill is used, the greater the consumption of Psychic energy is.
Alex has done many tests with this skill and also tested the different "enhancements" he can give himself and his body parts.
The simple and energy-effective enhancement is the [hardness] enhancement, which improves the hardness of a body part or object.
In the beginning, Alex had a lot of problems in being able to move his body flexibly after making his body as hard as stone, but after he left a few places on his body 'softer' and didn't improve them, this problem almost went away.
Alex can now make his body almost entirely as hard as Steel with unrestricted movement, with his now better mastery.
This "Enhancement" is extremely useful against all types of normal weapons and is more acceptable in energy consumption than [Energy Shield] when it needs to be used for more than 1 instant.
but, against Pokemon attack, this "enhancement" was very mediocre and not as effective as Alex had hoped.

Another "Enhancement" option with [Covering] was [Accelerate].
[Accelerate] as the name suggests, increases the speed of movement.
Alex has to do the movement himself and this Enhancement only speeds up the basic movement.
He tests this by augmenting his arm with [Accelerate] and then performing a punch which causes that punch to be many times faster than humans are capable of. (Alex's world humans)
Unfortunately, Alex broke several bones at the same time during this test. Especially his shoulder was completely useless after this one hit.
"Fortunately," Gardevoir was able to heal Alex, allowing him to do even more tests with this enhancement.
Alex was glad at that moment that this body was a lot tougher than the body from his old world or that this test could have ended worse than a few broken bones.
After several tests, Alex finds out that by distributing the Psychic energy, the burden on the whole body can be avoided.
He uses about 50% of the Psychic Energy on his hand and forearm, about 30% of the Psychic Energy on his upper arm and shoulder, and the rest distributed throughout his body.
That was the most effective distribution without straining his body.
Of course, when using [Accelerate] on a different part of the body, such as the legs, a completely different distribution must be used.
[Covering] is a very complicated technic and Alex had only learned these two enhancements so far.
This skill is almost too difficult for a Tier 3 Psychic and Alex is only trying to learn it because it is extremely useful.

Alex doesn't expect Daniel to give up his own interests for him but he does expect him to use his head at least a bit to understand what he can gain by being 'loyal' to him and what he loses if he ceases to do so.
Daniel continued to show an unemotional expression as he said, "Don't worry boss, I'll fulfill your expectation."
Alex gave a fake smile as he said, "That's good to hear. Then come and let's train together. I can show you some training tricks that I stole from Gym leaders and Elite four members."
That was a complete lie but Alex believed that his Pokemon training is many times more effective than Daniel's and that training with Alex's Pokemon can help Daniel and his Pokemon a lot.
He only said "Gym leaders and Elite four members" so as not to hurt Daniel's pride and make it easy for him to steal these training exercises.
Alex wasn't afraid that this would make Daniel stronger than him and he would even be happy if Daniel got even stronger than he is now.
It would help him a lot if Daniel had a strength similar to that of the average Gym leader. Especially in Hoenn.
The chance of treachery is very slim as long as he's much stronger than Daniel and he's giving Daniel enough benefits.
