Chapter 322: Pokemon master of tactics: Chapter 322

While both, Alex and Misty were waiting for the signal from the referee, Misty suddenly started talking to Alex.

"I will defeat you!"

Alex looked at Misty with a surprised expression when he saw her serious expression and when she said those words with such a self-assured expression on her face.

He can understand why Misty hyped herself so much up even if most Experts don't think she can win against Alex with a level disadvantage.

Alex read a few reports about this fight and he knew that he was by far the favorite in this fight.

It was not surprising when man considered that Alex was able to defeat Misty when she had a ridiculous level advantage against him. and now Misty has to fight him with a level disadvantage.

"Well, self-confidence is important."

Misty, hearing the indifference from Alex's voice and she started to get angry. She managed to calm herself down and so to get into this fight without that her emotion influenced her.

From her first defeat against Alex, she had painfully learned what happens when she lets her emotions influence her.

The referee began to inform both Trainers that, they should both call their first Pokemon at the same time, as soon as he showed his signal.

When Alex and Misty got the signal, they both threw almost at the same time a Pokeball.

--------------------------------------------

Alex showed at first a surprised expression when he saw that Golduck not only trained 2 new moves on the Expert rank but also trained a move on the Master rank.

He knew that an Innate Talent move would only take half as long to train on the Master Rank as a non-Innate Talent Move, but that would still take Golduck at least 3 months. And only if it trains with the maximum efficiency. otherwise, it would take longer.

Alex began to think deeply, 'Hmm, maybe I should bring at least 1 Innate Talent Move on the master rank and not let Crobat, Scizor, and Gardevoir wait before they reach the Shallow Diamond potential? But it's more effective if I train their Innate Talent moves on the Master rank after my Pokemon have a Shallow Diamond potential. So it's time-saving later or more strength now? '

He stopped thinking about it and looked at the referee who was about to start the fight.

"3,2,1, Go"

Gardevoir teleported to the outside of the arena almost immediately to get as much distance from Golduck as possible.

He had created rudimentary tactics for Gardevoir against every Pokemon from Misty so that Alex doesn't even have to say a word. Of course, he will say something when a situation becomes so unoptimal that it is worth modifying the taktik.

Misty said quickly, "Plan 3"

Alex had no idea what she was planning but he still showed a calm expression.

Gardevoir started preparing her move as Golduck was running in the direction of Gardevoir while he was preparing a move.

Although Golduck is a Water-Type Pokemon, his Species is still relatively quick on land so that it wouldn't take him long to get into attack range.

Gardevoir completed the preparation of her move and when she saw that Golduck watching her, she used her move immediately.

Golduck looked at Gardevoir, to be able to avoid a possible move and to see it coming, but when Golduck unexpectedly looked at Gardevoir he felt so tired.

Alex smiled when he saw Golduck fall asleep to the ground.

Because Gardevoir had a level advantage and Golduck was looking at her, it makes it impossible for Golduck not to fall asleep after Gardevoir used her move. Especially because [Hypnosis] is on the Expert rank.

Misty looked surprised and started screaming loudly at her Pokemon to wake up Golduck as quickly as possible.

Gardevoir started preparing for her next move almost immediately after using [Hypnosis].

She was used [Thunder Wave] and easily hit Golduck, who was still sleeping. Unfortunate, because it was a normal-rank move, it wasn't as effective as it could be.

Alex still has to get used to the fact that a Pokemon can be affected by several status moves. but gradually he found it no longer so weird when a Pokemon can be affected by more than one status move.

"Gardevoir use [Psychic]"

According to his standard plan, Gardevoir would buff herself with [Calm Mind] and waste as much time as possible with [Teleport] at the same time. But because Golduck can now use [Psych Up] and even had it on the Expert rank, the original plan was no longer optimal.

Gardevoir immediately started preparing [Psychic] when Misty was still trying to wake up Golduck.

Golduck suddenly woke up, but almost immediately afterward, Gardevoir finished her move.

She used [Psychic] and hit Golduck who didn't have the time or a chance to try to evade her attack.

Golduck took good damage and lost a little over 20% from that one hit.

Misty did not give Golduck any new calls but immediately called him back to her Pokeball before Gardevoir had time to prepare a new move.

The referee said aloud, "Participant Misty makes a successful switch."

He then looked at Misty when the referee said, "You have 30 seconds to switch to a different Pokemon.

Although each Pokemon can be exchanged once per fight in this tournament, it is not permitted to change a Pokemon in the middle of combat.

This rule was very similar to the one in the Kanto Rookie tournament.
