Chapter 356: Fusing Them Into One, Time-Based Laws of Nature

“Noooo!”

Ludwig froze on the spot as indignation and despair filled his eyes. No matter what, he’d never have ever thought that he, an elder of the Bahamut Behemoth Gods and a powerful high-level Primordial Behemoth King, would actually die in such a way in a place like this!

Just how miserable was that?

He couldn’t accept it!

“How dare you bark madly like a dog in front of me? How presumptuous!” Meng Lei gouged out Ludwig’s divine core and took his spatial ring before tossing his dead body to the little golden tree in the Tower of Time.

A system notification rang out at this point.

“Ding! 1 Primordial Behemoth King killed. 920 million Divinity Crystals gained.”

“920 million? Not bad!”

Meng Lei smiled in satisfaction. Then, he took out Ludwig’s spatial ring and ransacked it, earning another 800 to 900 million Divinity Crystals in the process. Sweet!

It was only after he was done with all that that Meng Lei finally turned to the other Behemoths and Angels.

“Is there anyone that’s still looking for the great treasure now?” asked Meng Lei aloofly.

All the Behemoths and Angels had long since been scared witless. They shook their heads vehemently at his question.

“No, I don’t want it anymore!”

“We don’t want the treasure anymore! We were blind to have affronted you just now, sir. Please be magnanimous and let us off!”

“You don’t want it anymore? I’ve already prepared a treasure for you, yet you actually don’t want it? What a waste of my painstaking effort! You should die for that! All of you!”

Meng Lei let out a cold snort. Innumerable green-gold spears of fire appeared out of nowhere and turned into a storm of arrows that shot toward them from every direction.

“Noooo!”

“Spare me, sir!”

A round of arrows later, be it the 20-odd Behemoths or the 30 or so Angels, all of them had turned into swiss cheese. Even Rodd Gabriel, the Seraph and Highest Order Angel, was no exception.

Gouging out their divine cores, collecting their bodies, destroying their divine spirits, ransacking their spatial rings—the whole procedure was a walk in the park for Meng Lei, who made a net profit of 400 million Divinity Crystals. He had earned yet another sum of money!

“Awesome!”

Meng Lei, who was in a fantastic mood, then discovered that a group of people was currently staring at him with visible shock and horror in their eyes—it was the Fairy Goddess and the others.

Evidently, the “treasure emergence” phenomenon had also attracted them over.

Meng Lei smiled at the Fairy Goddess in greeting and then teleported and left. The goddesses heaved long sighs of relief as they watched him leave, fear lingering in their hearts.

“A lunatic! That guy’s a lunatic!”

“First, he slaughtered all 28 people from the Haber Colossal Dragon Gods, and now he’s killed 31 people from the Gabriel Angel Gods and 29 people from the Bahamut Behemoth Gods!”

“Isn’t he afraid that he’ll become the Divine Realm’s public enemy and attract all the major godly clans’ mad revenge on him?”

“So bold! So audacious! So perverse! That guy’s no different from a madman!”

The goddesses had received quite the shock.

The three major godly clans!

Those were juggernauts that stood at the pinnacle of Thunderbolt Divine Realm’s pyramid of power and had Chief Gods protecting them!

Who would dare to offend them?

Nobody!

Yet not only had Meng Lei offended them, but he had even so wantonly slaughtered the three major godly clans’ pillars of support. Just how bold must he be in order to do something so crazy?

“Is he really only 25, Diana?”

Laws of Nature:

Double-Elemental Fusion: ...

Triple-Elemental Fusion: ...

Quadruple-Elemental Fusion: ...

Quintuple-Elemental Fusion: Thunder-Fire-Wind-Light-Dark (0.1%)

“System, raise my Thunder-Fire-Wind-Light-Dark quintuple-elemental fusion laws of nature assimilation rate!”

“Ding! Raising a quintuple-elemental fusion laws of nature’s assimilation rate by 1% requires 120 million Divinity Crystals,” the system asked coldly, “May I know whether you’d like to raise it?”

“In other words, raising it to 100% requires 12 billion Divinity Crystals? Say no more, raise it!”

Whoosh!

His wealth decreased by 12 billion Divinity Crystals in an instant.

At the same time, a surging torrent of data gushed into Meng Lei’s mind like waters from a breached dam and lashed furiously against his divine spirit flame.

Fortunately, Meng Lei’s divine spirit was powerful enough, and its storage capacity and operational capacity far exceeded what they had been in the past. Otherwise, he really might not have been able to withstand the impact and end up becoming mentally disabled.

Even so, Meng Lei still felt giddy and dizzy as though back when he had stayed at an Internet cafe for three days and three nights straight and ended up mentally exhausted to the extreme.

“Damn! To think there’s actually such a vast amount of data! I can’t handle it anymore!” Meng Lei turned pale with fright and hastily barked, “System, enhance my divine spirit!”

“Ding! The host’s divine spirit is currently comparable to a mid-level higher deity’s and will rival that of a high-level higher deity’s after enhancement. Enhancement cost is estimated at 900 million Divinity Crystals,” the system asked coldly, “Will you enhance it?”

“Yes, enhance it!”

Upon his command, a wave of golden energy flowed into his sea of consciousness and toward his divine spirit flame. The moment the two made contact, the intensity of his divine spirit flame instantly surged as though it had been doused with a bucket of petrol.

It doubled, tripled, quadrupled...

At the same time, Meng Lei also felt his exhaustion clearly ebbing away. His consciousness became clearer and clearer, and his woozy mind also gradually regained clarity...

“Whew~”

Meng Lei rubbed his temples as he remarked, “No wonder only Great Perfection-level divine spirits can fuse five types of laws of nature together. There’s simply too vast an amount of data involved in the fusion!”

Meng Lei took some time to have a quiet rest. After a long while, when he had more or less recuperated, he finally began to look through the laws of nature information in his mind.

Meng Lei wasn’t disappointed—the five types of laws of nature had fused together perfectly!

This was a true blue fusion!

It wasn’t like a simple intertwining of five different strings. Rather, it was a perfect blend that made no distinction between one and the other and no longer displayed five different colors!

They had ultimately come together to form an all-new... golden color—or rather, an all-new type of golden laws of nature!

The all-new type of golden laws of nature was not as dazzling, resplendent, ostentatious, and sonorous as metal-elemental laws of nature. Rather, it brimmed with an aura that was eternal, immortal, detached, and noble.

“An all-new type of laws of nature was born after the five types of laws of nature—thunder, fire, wind, light, and dark—were perfectly fused together. So, are these golden laws of nature time-based laws of nature?

A thread of golden chains made out of laws of nature formed at Meng Lei’s fingertip with a thought. It gave off a profound and enigmatic aura of time.

Dodola had always paid close attention to Meng Lei at all times. At the sight of the golden laws of nature chains at his fingertip, it flew right out of the Tower of Time.

“Time-based laws of nature! That’s time-based laws of nature!”

Dodola could hardly suppress its surprise and elation. It was so worked up that it nearly broke into tears. “How many years has it been? I’m finally seeing time-based laws of nature...”

“Is this time-based laws of nature, Dodola?” murmured Meng Lei softly, his agitation barely concealable.

“The dimensions rule over all, while time is honored above all; when life and death are absent, destruction shall reign!”

Dodola couldn’t get any more agitated. It said, “Back then, Master had fused thunder, fire, wind, light, and dark-elemental laws of nature into one and successfully gave birth to time-based laws of nature. It was exactly this type of subtle and understated eternal gold. I’ll never mistake it for anything else!”

“Time-based laws of nature...”

Meng Lei murmured as he glanced at the stats interface. The Laws of Nature comprehension column had indeed changed.

Laws of Nature:

Double-Elemental Fusion: ...

Triple-Elemental Fusion: ...

Quadruple-Elemental Fusion: ...

Quintuple-Elemental Fusion: Thunder-Fire-Wind-Light-Dark (100%)

Supreme Laws of Nature: Time-Based (0.1%)

Time-based laws of nature had been added to the stats interface!

“System, how many Divinity Crystals does it cost to raise my time-based laws of nature comprehension rate?” asked an excited Meng Lei. After all, an Ancient God that had fully comprehended supreme laws of nature would become comparable to a higher Chief God!

A higher Chief God!

Just the thought alone was enough to make one unable to stop themselves!

“Ding! Raising time-based laws of nature assimilation rate by 1% would cost 50 trillion Divinity Crystals,” replied the system coldly.

50 t-trillion?”

Meng Lei sucked in a breath of chilly air.

“Raising it by 1% would cost me 50 trillion Divinity Crystals? Oh my god, doesn’t that mean that I’ll need 5,000 trillion Divinity Crystals to raise it to 100%?!”

Meng Lei could only laugh wryly in response. Even though he had already expected buying credit for supreme laws of nature to cost an astronomical price, he nevertheless didn’t expect it to be such a ridiculous price.

1 trillion = 1,000 billion!

This meant that 5,000 trillion would be... 5,000,000 billion!

,000,0000 billion Divinity Crystals!

Meng Lei currently only had 16.5 billion Divinity Crystals. It couldn’t even count as spare change for the sum of 5,000 trillion Divinity Crystals!

Buying credit?

To hell with buying credit!

He had better just hurry up and make more money instead!

“But I’m already very satisfied right now after I managed to comprehend time-based laws of nature!” Meng Lei let out a pent-up breath, his eyes filled with joy.

“I really didn’t expect you to comprehend time-based laws of nature so quickly!” Dodola had a complex look in its eyes, though it could hardly conceal its joy, too. “Nevertheless, I’d still like to congratulate you!”

“Haha! This is all thanks to the laws of nature fragment that the God of Time left behind.” An awfully delighted Meng Lei said, “Thank you, o noble God of Time!”

“You can skip the thanks,” Dodola shook its head and said, “All I hope for is that you can do something for me when you’ve fully comprehended time-based laws of nature in the future!”

“Revive the God of Time?” asked Meng Lei as he raised an eyebrow.

“How did you know that?”

Dodola looked absolutely surprised. It had never brought up the matter to Meng Lei before in the past!

“I guessed it,” Meng Lei smiled and said, “Don’t worry. If I really can revive the God of Time, I’ll definitely do it!”

“Thank you!”

Dodola said sincerely.

“You’re standing on ceremony too much.”

Meng Lei waved.

“Is it time you deify now, Meng Lei?” asked Dodola all of a sudden.

“If you split off a time-based divine incarnation from yourself by using the time-based laws of nature that you’ve comprehended as a source of nutrition, that divine incarnation shall possess strength capable of contending with a lower Chief God.”

“Deify?”

Meng Lei was stunned at the suggestion. After a long while, he finally said, “Now that I’ve comprehended time-based laws of nature, it is indeed time that I deify.

“And with a divine incarnation, I’ll be able to convert power of faith. However, I feel that it’s still not the right time for me to deify just yet.”

“You mean...”

Dodola’s brows drew together slightly.

“I’ll deify when I’ve fully mastered time-based laws of nature instead!”

Meng Lei had his own concerns, too. What if the time-based divine incarnation wasn’t entitled to the system’s benefits after he split it off from himself? How was he supposed to buy credit for his time-based laws of nature, then?

Therefore, he’d better put it off a little further. It didn’t affect much anyway.

“It’s your call!”

Dodola didn’t persuade him any further. Meng Lei was already stronger than Dodola and had his own views now.

“It’s time to go out and make some money now!”

Meng Lei took a deep breath and said, “I’m very poor and am a total pauper from head to toe right now. I need Divinity Crystals! Lots and lots of Divinity Crystals!”

He was certainly very poor!

The terrifying 5,000 trillion Divinity Crystals price tag weighed down on Meng Lei’s heart like a heavy mountain. The only thing on his mind at the moment was making money, lots and lots and lots of money!

“Let’s go!”

The moment the thought occurred to him, Meng Lei promptly went to the area where the dimensional gate had appeared. He intended to hunt the experts who were coming from Thunderbolt Divine Realm to the Boundless Plane.

Unfortunately, the dimensional gate had actually vanished. This meant that everyone from Thunderbolt Divine Realm had already entered the Boundless Plane and had already split up and gone to various unknown areas of the plane.

“Damn it. I was too late!”

Meng Lei cursed under his breath. Then, he released his divine cognition into the surroundings and began to search for targets whom he could hunt.

“Eh? There’s a melee going on over there!”

Meng Lei teleported over at once, upon which a huge volcano then appeared before his eyes.

The majestic volcano was spewing boiling hot lava and thick, roiling smoke into the vicinity while an intense battle took place above the bubbling lava.

A group of pitch-black Divine Netherworld Phoenixes was currently besieging a crimson-red, Qilin-like[1] beast that had eight horns on its head and six legs below its abdomen!

Dodola explained, “That’s an Eight-Horned Fire Unicorn, a type of fire-elemental divine beast. An adult Nine-Horned Fire Unicorn is extremely powerful and possesses strength capable of contending with a high-level Great Demon God!”

“No wonder those Divine Netherworld Phoenixes are besieging the Nine-Horned Fire Unicorn. So it’s a fire-elemental divine beast!”

Meng Lei nodded slightly. However, just as he was about to attack, another group of people charged over.

“The Fire Phoenix Gods?”
