*Pant* *Pant* *Pant*

Heavy pants roamed throughout the air, the three were rushing down a long hallway, running for their lives.

Behind them were countless Zombies, with the majority being abnormal.

They were pushing after one another in chase of their prey as they starved from the thought of not eating them.

Some abnormals were on the walls even and were showing no signs of giving up.

[The Chase Continues.] Mentioned the System

Aurora who was following behind Gray was the most exhausted out of all of them, she had been doing her best to keep up with him but they had been on a run for the past hour and she still hadn't gotten any rest.

Things were looking bad for her, and as for Gray, he was too focused on what was ahead of him and the situation at hand to even think of letting her rest. After all...

*CRASH!*

Two Zombies came crashing through the door to their left lunging at them.

[Future Sight: Level 1]

Gray who had foreseen this, paused the air in a rectangular shape to their side, blocking the Zombies in the process.

Aurora who was behind, twitched as the Zombies crashed into the air wall.

Her heart almost jumped out of her mouth from the jump scare.

Gray who was in front suddenly leapt up and at that moment, so did she-

*CRASH!!* *CRASH!*

Zombies came from the door to their right, one specifically which was about to collide against them from the front, ended up sliding down from beneath as it watched them fly over it's heads.

They had landed on top of a horizontal platform.

*SPLURT*

The platform impaled the head of the zombie to their right, instantly cutting it off as it crashed into it in it's blindness

The chase continued and without looking back, the two carried on with their run over to the end of the hall.

"We're almost there...!" Gray mentioned as he ran with all he had.

His future sight was on full throttle, his silver eye glowed as it flashed left and right.

The closer they got to the end of the hall, the closer they were to their escape.

"Come on... Make it!!" He yelled out as the two took the leap forward towards the door.

*WHAM!*

The door slammed opened, Aurora rushed in after Gray before slamming it shut.

*SLAM!*

Inside the two glanced around the room whilst panting heavil, they were exhausted and trying to catch their breath but at the same time had to confirm it was clear of Zombies or any monsters.

Gray had already checked ahead of time with [X-Ray: Level 1]. It was how he found this room in the first place.

After confirming it was safe, Aurora's eggs gave out. She dropped to the floor in front of the door and let out a long sigh of relief.

"Finallyyyyy~~~"

They had finally reached a safe spot.

Why was it a safe spot, you might ask?

*SLAM!* *SLAM!* WHAM!*

The Zombies from behind began banging on the door in order to open it, but the door just wouldn't budge.

The two felt no fear as they watched the Zombies repeatedly bang against the door. Especially considering how they had locked it from the inside upon entering and also how it was a a grand reinforced steel door.

The reason they had risked coming here was because this wasn't your average room.

*Switch* free(w)ebnov(e)l

With the flick of a light switch, the room lit up in a glowing light blue light.

Upon lighting up the entirety of the rooms, they could see not only fridges but arsenals of weapons at the end of the room from just the entrance.

There were two other rooms to explore alongside the kitchen which was in the same room as the entrance's.

Everything was clean and in top condition. The windows and walls were both reinforced and sound proof.

There were supplies in the fridge and cupboards and even an open deck of playing cards on top of the kitchen table.

It was a safe haven.

With such a great place, why might there not be anyone home?

'The owner probably left... The only way I even found it in the first place was thanks to using X-Ray while we roamed around. Finding a place like this was purely coincidence and definitely a good stroke of luck.' Gray thought to himself.

After all, it had electricity.

Gray analysed the infrastructure of this particular room after it caught his interest, it had it's own solar powered generator connected to it from the outside.

As long as nothing were to damage the generator, they'd be great on power.

This was another tempting part which made them risk it.

*BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!*

"T-They won't get in here, will they?" Aurora asked nervously.

"They won't, ignore it. Let's check the rooms and after that, we'll shower and eat." He muttered as he placed Violet down on the living room's couch.

Aurora nodded and the two made their way over to the two rooms.

Gray's eyes slowly opened.

He looked left and right; a confused expression painted all over his face.

"Where am I...?" He asked after clearing his throat.

There was nothing but darkness, as far as the eye could see. If there was even anything it could see in the first place.

"This place... Is it my consciousness?" Gray asked.

[That is correct.] A feminine robotic voice responded.

Gray recognised the voice right away, there was no chance that he wouldn't. After all, he'd been hearing the very same voice every day since it all began.

"System, what am I doing here?" Gray asked.

[I have summoned the User here.]

[The User's main body is now at rest alongside Aurora and Violet.]

Gray looked around once more before nodding.

"So, why have you summoned me here?" He asked.

A bright glow lit up his surroundings as a round orb manifested before him.

The orb was one of the system's forms, but to his surprise the form didn't end there this time.

It slowly began to change from the orb and shape itself even further into a humanoid appearance.

Due to the glow the orb's body was radiating, it was hard to get a clear look at it's face. But everything else was viewable.

Long flowing glowing white hair and a petite feminine body covered n light.

Gray's pupils dilated the more human the form became, and after only just a few seconds, it was completely perfected.

"System... This is."

[That is correct.]

[I have assumed a temporary form which I believe to best suit me.]

[I believe using this form will make interactions easier with you.]

Gray was shocked at first, but after taking a deep breath and clearing his mind, he calmed down.

"You say that as if interacting with me is hard." Gray responded with narrowed eyes.

[That is c... More importantly, we must discuss what is happening with Violet.]

Gray's eyes widened.

-Memory

The three had made their way throughout the city, leaping from apartment from apartment in search of a place to stay.

Unfortunately, everywhere they went was filled with Zombies, and for some unknown reason, they could detect their location each time.

Aurora and Gray eventually realised that there was no doubt to the case being Violet, they had conducted a slight test by leaving her on the top of a building and leaping away and just as they had expected, the Zombies went right towards her.

There was something about her that was attracting them, but neither of them knew what.

Fortunately, it only applied to Zombies within a certain distance, specifically, the vicinity.

They eventually found a building voice of Zombies to rest at, but it wouldn't be long until the building would be infested with zombies.

-Memory end.

'I'll really need to think of a way to end the spread of this virus...'

'The zombies are slowly growing stronger, more and more abnormals are appearing. The longer they live, the worst it is.'

'Should I kill every single one of them if things are just going to keep getting worst?'

[The user is stirring off topic.]

"Ah, right. Keep going, mind reader." He responded.

Gray raised his brows.

[Evolution Energy, that is the source of energy which fuels your abilities.]

Gray's eyes widened.

[And... That is the Key to understanding why the Zombies and monsters have been attracted to Violet.]

"Explain."

[Evolution Energy is the source of energy which awakened in Earth after the Labyrinths apepared.]

[Each person's body works as a storage to this energy, it can hold up to a certain amount of capacity.]

[The more energy they have, the more of their ability they can use.]

'So stamina...?' He wondered.

[That is correct, by increasing one's stamina they can increase their capacity.]

[However the extent would be minor in human cases, you are an exception.]

[There are other ways to increase the capacity but that is unknown for now. All that is known is that people have their capacity decided at birth.]

[Your energy capacity far exceeds that of humans as a result of your status points and evolution.]

[This explains why your body would break down whenever you would stop time before but can barely manage holding out with it now.]

[Your energy capacity has increased.]

"This is all intresting and all... It also answers a lot of my questions... But..."

"How does it all link to Violet?"

[I have explained the prior points in order to get to this conclusion. Violet's energy capacity is...]
