Chapter 499 Astonishment
"How can you be so sure?", Hui Guo who was silent untill now, spoke out. He felt that Zhan Chen was needlessly frightening them even before the war had begun.
"Senior Guo, I can understand your reasoning but you have yet to witness devils' true prowess. Their fighting capability aside they excelled in cunningness and deception. If it is a head on fight, your strategy is viable but you can't escape devils to fight according to your wish. Both of your armies will face significant dangers even before you could reach devils' stronghold", Zhan Chen spoke.
"Zhan Chen, are you concerned about devils with special abilities?", Li Wei asked. He had heard about the Earth devils and shadow devils. So, he could relate them to Zhan Chen's concern.
"Yes, our Xuantian sect has lost many disciples thanks to their deception. I don't understand why you are strategizing to push forward even after knowing about their capabilities", Zhan Chen looked towards Li Wei with a questioning expression on his face.
"I know, some devils possess annoying abilities. But, so what? We can slaughter them after detecting them with our soul consciousness. I don't believe, they can do much with the presence of our Heavenly tribulation realm experts", Hui Guo spoke.
Zhan Chen shook his head after seeing how stubborn Hui Guo was. "Senior, I have spoke what I thought about the situation. As for what choice you will pick, that will upto you. My army is here to only give you support in your most difficult times. So, I am not losing anything no matter what decision you take.
There is also another information I want to give you before the battle begins. Devils with special abilities are not limited to shadow devils and Earth devils. "Seniors, I am leaving. I need to scout the surrounding areas before taking any decision", Zhan Chen bade his farewell to Hui Guo and Li Wei before leaving the place. "Brother Wei, I think we need to observe first. There is no hurry in attacking the devils", Hui Guo spoke after a while.
"Agreed", Li Wei nodded his head. Unconciously, both of them looked towards the direction where Zhan Chen had gone.

"Senior sister Chunhua, do you want to join me?", Sima Chunhua heard a voice while she was standing alongside Jia Lingyi. A puzzled expression appeared on her pretty face after she heard Zhan Chen's voice inside her mind. She looked around but
didn't find Zhan Chen's presence in the surrounding area.
"Sister Chunhua, what is the matter?", Jia Lingyi asked.
"No.. nothing", Sima Chunhua stuttered slightly but didn't expose Zhan Chen's conversation with her. She was still wary of other cultivators's reaction if they found out her relationship with Zhan Chen.
"Senior sister, I have yet to hear your response. If you want to join me, you can descend the hill and walk in the northern direction", Zhan Chen spoke.
Sima Chunhua 's heartbeat quickened after she heard Zhan Chen's words. She thought about the things she had done with Zhan Chen and her cheeks reddened completely.
"Sister Lingyi, I need to find junior brother Chen. I have something important to ask him", Sima Chunhua spoke. She tried to appear as normal as possible but her reddened cheeks puzzled Jia Lingyi.
"Junior brother Chen! Do you know where you can find him?", Jia Lingyi asked.
"Yes", Sima Chunhua nodded her head.
"Do you want me to come with you?", Jia Lingyi asked.
"No need, I will return quickly after seeing junior brother Chen", Sima Chunhua replied.
"Okay, don't go too far. Ask junior brother Chen to be cautious. I don't want you and junior brother Chen to face danger so early in this battle", Jia Lingyi spoke. Sima Chunhua bade her farewell to her and left the hill.
Their captain Qian Shanni noticed her departure but she held herself from speaking anything after she received Zhan Chen's mental communication. "Strange, I can't find him with my soul consciousness", she thought to herself with a puzzled expression on her face.
"Senior sister, you are finally here", Sima Chunhua saw Zhan Chen in her path after walking for a while. An expression of relief and happiness appeared on her face after she met Zhan Chen.
"Junior brother, you are amazing. How can you send mental communication from such a far off distance?", Sima Chunhua asked with a curious expression on her face. She was feeling both happy and curious at the same time after seeing Zhan Chen.
"Senior sister, my soul is slightly special. So, it is only natural that I can send you mental communication from such a distance", Zhan Chen spoke.
"Oh", Sima Chunhua nodded her head. Although, she wanted Zhan Chen to explain more, she held back herself. She knew everyone had their own secrets and as a renowned prodigy, Zhan Chen most have his own secrets. Rather than being dissatisfied, she felt thankful that Zhan Chen chose to expose his ability infront of her. It went to show his trust towards her.
"Junior brother, why did you call me? It is rather difficult to explain to sister Lingyi", Sima Chunhua asked. Although she had a hunch about why Zhan Chen called her, she still chose to ask Zhan Chen.
"Senior sister, I can't control my impulse to see you. It has been only few days since we have dual cultivated but I am already missing you", Zhan Chen spoke. He didn't bother to hide his desire for her as she looked towards Sima Chunhua.
Sima Chunhua blushed after seeing the heated expression of Zhan Chen. "Junior brother, how can you think about such matters in such a tense atmosphere?", she murmured in a shy voice.
"I also find it inexplicable. This baddie only have such thoughts inside his mind. I am looking forward to see some battle but I am disappointed", a somewhat immature voice interrupted both Zhan Chen and Sima Chunhua's conversation. A vein appeared on Zhan Chen's forehead after he saw the culprit.
"Little dragon, are you asking for a spanking?", Zhan Chen asked with an irritated voice.
"Ah! So cute. Little sister who you might be?", Sima Chunhua asked Long Xinyu who was floating in the air.
"Senior sister, you don't need to look at her. She is only a hungry little dragon who only knows how to make trouble", Zhan Chen spoke.
"Senior sister, I am Long Xinyu. Don't let this baddie bully you. You can call me if you want to escape from him", Long Xinyu spoke. She struck out her tongue and made a taunting expression at Zhan Chen.
Zhan Chen should feel angry but his lips curled up slightly after he saw Long Xinyu's face. She was looking so lovely at this moment that no one could get mad at her.
"Little dragon, what do you want? Can't you see I am busy with this senior sister?", Zhan Chen looked towards Long Xinyu.
"Big baddie, don't you remember your promise? You have promised to bring me magical beast meat but you are doing other stuffs without caring about me", Long Xinyu spoke with an aggrieved expression on her face.
"Heh~",.Sima Chunhua couldn't hold back her laughter after hearing Long Xinyu's words. Long Xinyu's antics were so funny that she couldn't hold back her laughter. Zhan Chen also smiled alongwith Sima Chunhua. All of his irritation quickly washed away after having a conversation with Long Xinyu.
"Fine, I am wrong. I will cook some magical beasts meat for you after I send away this senior sister", Zhan Chen spoke.
"You better remember. I want to eat all the magical beasts' meat in your possession", Long Xinyu spoke. She glanced towards Sima Chunhua before disappearing. Both Zhan Chen and Sima Chunhua smiled towards eachother after Long Xinyu vanished. Her presence lightened up both of their moods and relaxed their minds.
"Senior sister, let's find a good place for us while scouting the surrounding area", Zhan Chen spoke.
