Chapter 488 Following your heart
"Big brother, what is the matter? What makes you so much furious?", Long Xinyu appeared infront of Zhan Chen. There was a concerned expression on her adorable face as she looked towards Zhan Chen.
It was rare of her to be so polite infront of Zhan Chen. Otherwise whenever she appeared infront of Zhan Chen, she would call him big baddie.
Zhan Chen tried to calm down himself after seeing the concern on Long Xinyu's face. But no matter how he tried, he couldn't calm down himself. His anger only soared when he thought about the fate of Zhan clan's allies.
"Big brother, if you need my help, please tell me. My ability is limited now but once my Ancestral dragon city's army descend on this world, I can help you with whatever you want", Long Xinyu spoke. "Little girl, you are so considerate", Zhan Chen's anger subsided slightly. He felt a movement from his sword, Celestial night when he was talking with Long Xinyu.
A bewitching beauty appeared infront of Zhan Chen after he spoke to Long Xinyu. Her expression was distant and aloof as she looked towards Zhan Chen. Zhan Chen could see through almost every cultivator's emotion in this world. But when it came to the bewitching beauty infront of him, he couldn't perceive what was she thinking.
She was Celestial night, the sword spirit of his sword. She had raven black hair and pitch black eyes. A puzzled expression appeared on Zhan Chen's face because of her appearance.
"Celestial night, is there anything you need?", Zhan Chen asked.
"It is not about me, it is about you. Master, you should know that I can sense your emotions because of our soul connection", Celestial night replied.
"It seems like I have startled you. Sorry about that. It is about my Zhan clan allies. So, I can't calm down myself after seeing their situation", Zhan Chen spoke.
"Master, you shouldn't supress yourself too much. Otherwise, it may affect your dao heart. You should vent your emotions once in a while. Be it battle or mating, you should act according to your heart's desire. What is point in suppressing yourself in such a manner. Even now, you are trying to suppress your emotions", Celestial night spoke.

A thoughtful expression appeared on Zhan Chen's face after he heard what Celestial night had spoke. Celestial night successfully managed to divert his attention with her words. He was no longer disturbed by Zhan clan allies's fate rather he was pondering the meaning of Celestial night's words.
Long Xinyu felt puzzled as well but she couldn't comprehend anything from Celestial night's words. "Forget it, that big sister is too much. How can she talk about mating so randomly? I am not ready yet", she thought to herself. She automatically forgot majority of Celestial night's advice. The only thing she remembered was mating and battle. "Big brother is supressing himself? But how so? Is not he mating whenever he wants, in the past few days", Long Xinyu thought to herself. She didn't understand why Celestial night spoke such words.
"Forget about it. That big sister is too much. I should act as I please when I am in this lower world", she thought to herself. She took a look at Zhan Chen's pondering expression and a blush appeared on her adorable face. "Big brother is really good looking", she thought inwardly.
"I understand. I should act according to my heart whenever I can. But to follow heart's desire all the time, it is impossible. I will rather focus on maintaining a clear heart. As long I do not supress myself too much, I will not face any difficulty in the cultivation path. My cultivation path is on my own. So, I should trust my own instincts and methods", Zhan Chen thought to himself. His mind became more clear as he pondered over the words of Celestial night.
He didn't know that Celestial night had a smile on her face now. Her face which generally appeared aloof and distant, now had a small smile on it. 'He is really amazing. His cultivation may be weak but his talent is unparallel. He is able to cleanse his heart to such an extent despite being at a tender age', Celestial night thought to herself.
"Little dragon, let's go", Zhan Chen spoke. He stretched his hand and held Long Xinyu 's hand with his own. There was a big smile on his face when he looked towards Long Xinyu.
Long Xinyu would have protested in ordinary situation but she fell silent after seeing the warm smile on Zhan Chen's face. Her mood uplifted as well as she followed Zhan Chen into the Grey ash city.
"Big brother, let me go. I need to hide myself from other cultivators", Long Xinyu spoke when they approached the city gate of the Grey ash city.
"Wait a little. I will find something delicious for you after I receive a mission tomorrow", Zhan Chen spoke. He combed her beautiful violet hair a little before letting her go. Long Xinyu escaped immediately after Zhan Chen removed his hand from her head.
'My heart, please stop. Why is it beating so rapidly? I think I would die if big brother combed my hair a little more', Long Xinyu thought to herself. A dazed expression appeared on her pretty face as she stared towards the direction of the Grey ash city.
Zhan Chen didn't know how much his tiny actions had affected Long Xinyu. He walked into the Grey ash city and released his soul consciousness.
"Where are they?", he murmured while looking for Hui Ling and Yin Ran. He search through their living quarters but couldn't find them.
The Grey ash city appeared very active despite it was late night. Cultivators were roaming here and there while talking among themselves. Ying Chao 's decision had not only affected the peak experts rather they affected each and every cultivator present in the Grey ash city. Everyone was talking about new commanders and which captain to follow.
'So, they have already assembled infront of the Lu clan's base', Zhan Chen nodded his head after finding Hui Ling and Yin Ran infront of the Lu clan's base. He directly headed towards that direction without bothering about anyone present in the streets.
