Chapter 430 Going back to the Serene bamboo peak
"Let me have few words with little brother Chen. All of you go prepare for our travel to the Jade harmony city", Deng Yue spoke. She took Zhan Chen to a nearby room after giving her command.
"Let me see whatever enchanting technique you are practicing. You need to hurry up though, we don't have much time", Deng Yue spoke. There was a curious expression on her beautiful face as she looked towards Zhan Chen.
"Elder sister, you can't blame me. You are allowing me to use my technique on you", Zhan Chen spoke. A brilliant glow appeared in his eyes as she looked towards Deng Yue.
'Soul seed technique', he murmured inside his mind and an imperceptible illusory strand floated towards Deng Yue. Deng Yue didn't even feel anything as Zhan Chen used the Soul seed technique on her.
"Elder sister, will you allow me to visit the Jade harmony city later? I have some matters to deal with in the Xuantian sect. At most it will take a day's time", Zhan Chen spoke.
"No problem. You can visit the Xuantian sect and join us later. But what about your enchantment technique? Have you changed your mind?", Deng Yue asked.
"Elder sister, my technique is different. It is almost impossible for you to detect it but I have already used it. Now, let us see whether my technique is effective or not? If you think about me often in the coming days, my technique will be a success", Zhan Chen spoke.
"You have already used it?", Deng Yue muttered with a confused expression. Zhan Chen nodded his head in return.

"Little brat", Deng Yue got flustered for a moment before calming down. She was angered yet amused. If it was anyone else, she would have cut him up already but in Zhan Chen's case, she felt less angered. Zhan Chen returned to the side of Shui Liying and Huang Mei after bidding farewell to Deng Yue. "I have already got permission to visit the Xuantian sect. Will both seniors accompany me? We can have our alchemy competetion there", Zhan Chen looked towards Shui Liying and Huang Mei.

"I don't have any problem either. We can arrange the alchemy competetion in my Serene bamboo peak", Shui Liying spoke.

It was a smooth journey for Zhan Chen with two emperors accompanying him. They were riding the flying boat of Shui Liying. Before leaving the Oak ridge town, Zhan Chen had directed his devil slaves to move closer to the Xuantian sect on their own. He had shared a map of the Earth province with them through their soul link.
It took Shui Liying, Zhan Chen and Huang Mei only an hour before they could reach the periphery of the Blue qilin mountain range.
The Xuantian sect was located in the depth of the Blue qilin mountain range. Shui Liying led both Zhan Chen and Huang Mei into the Serene Bamboo peak after entering the inner court area.
"Do you two need any rest?", Shui Liying asked.
"No need. I am not at all tired", Zhan Chen replied. Huang Mei only shook her head in response to Shui Liying's question. It should be a cakewalk for her when she was competing with a junior like Zhan Chen in alchemy but few incidents in the past few days had made her slightly more apprehensive. But she still did not believe that Zhan Chen could defeat her if she became slightly more attentive. She was determined to get her hands on the Five harmony soul resurgence pill after defeating Zhan Chen fair and square in the alchemy contest.
Shui Liying led both Zhan Chen and Huang Mei into her personal peak. Her personal peak had the best arrangement for practicing alchemy. So, Huang Mei felt quite thankful to her after seeing her junior sister becoming so cooperative.
"Senior, what pill are we concocting?", Zhan Chen asked. He had left the matter of choosing the pill in Huang Mei's hands. He beleived she wouldn't pull a trick while competing with a junior like him.
"Crimson cloud pill. It is an ordinary pill used by Core condensation cultivators. I hope you will not find any fault in the selection of such a pill", Huang Mei spoke.
"I don't have any problem. I would have accepted even if senior had choosen a more difficult pill for our alchemy contest", Zhan Chen replied.
"Let us begin. Junior sister Liying will be the judge of this alchemy contest", Huang Mei spoke.
"For it to be a fair contest, I suggest both of you to use my pill furnaces. Both of you can choose any sky grade pill furnace from my personal collection", Shui Liying spoke.
The alchemy contest began after Huang Mei took out ingredients for the Crimson cloud pill. She had collected a total of six sets of pill ingredients. She gave three sets of pill ingredients to Zhan Chen before preparing to concoct the Crimson cloud pill.
"There will be no time limit in this competetion. The winner will be decided after both of you concoct pills using all three sets of ingredients", Shui Liying spoke.
"Do anyone has any objection?", Shui Liying asked. Both Zhan Chen and Huang Mei shook their heads in reply.
"Good, it is settled then. The competetion will end after both of you finished consuming all three sets of ingredients", Shui Liying spoke.
"Begin", she shouted softly. Both Zhan Chen and Huang Mei sprang into action after hearing the words of Shui Liying. Huang Mei did not notice Zhan Chen's actions but Shui Liying had her eyes only for Zhan Chen. She observed carefully as Zhan Chen sorted and arranged the pill ingredients.
There were three types of pill ingredients required for concocting the Crimson cloud pill.
'Jade orchid petals'
'Blades of Crimson grass'
'Binding amber'
Zhan Chen separated the pill ingredients and started to refine them one by one. He picked up the Jade orchid petals first and put them inside the pill furnace. He controlled the intensity of the earth fire and started to refine them.
Huang Mei was very attentive during the refining procedure although she was concocting only a fourth grade pill. She took almost an hour to completely refine the three ingredients. Zhan Chen had finished refining his ingredients before her.
To her astonishment, he had already moved onto the process of pill condensation. "Haste will only make you lose earlier in such an alchemy contest", she thought to herself. She took a moment of rest before proceeding to begin the pill condensation.
Zhan Chen deliberately tried to slow down. Otherwise, his pace would create suspicion in Huang Mei's mind. Both of them continued the process of pill condensation and it took both of them almost forty five minutes to condense the pill.
"I am done", Huang Mei declared confidently. She threw a look at Zhan Chen to see his response.
"My Crimson cloud pills are ready as well. Seniors are welcome to examine my pills as they wish", Zhan Chen spoke. He lifted the lid of his pill furnace and a refreshing aroma wafted into the surrounding.
'How many pills have you managed to concoct?", Huang Mei asked. She felt curious and took a look at Zhan Chen's pill furnace.
