Chapter 428 A hearty battle
The half moon slicer attack collided with the Serpentine attack and a small explosion occured. Zhan Chen had to take a step back to stabilize his body.
"Well, You are already proficient in condensing sword rays. But this is not enough if you want to participate in a full fledged battle. Let me see what level your sword expertize has reached", Deng Yue spoke.
Her aura suddenly changed as she gave off a sharp aura from her body. "Sword intent", Zhan Chen murmured slowly. His fighting spirit rose as he unleashed his own sword intent as well.
His sword intent was extremely sharp and it collided the sword intent of Deng Yue. Deng Yue had a tyrannical sword intent but Zhan Chen's sword intent was extremely pure. It felt like as if a treasured sword was placed in his place instead of him.
'What a pure sword intent!', Deng Yue felt surprised inwardly. But outside, she didn't show any emotion. She focused her eyes on Zhan Chen and launched two extremely fast attacks.
Zhan Chen was completely prepared this time. He swung his sword and launched a counterattack of his own. Two extremely fast attacks collided with eachother and the explosion of essence energy was heard in the surrounding.
"Zhan Chen, wielding sword is only a matter of convenience for me. My real strength lies in my elemental affinity. Do you want to give it a try?", Deng Yue asked.
"Elder sister, you have already put a limitation on yourself. It is only fair that you will use your other capabilities and expertise. To speak the truth, I rarely meet a good opponent. So, I will appreciate if elder sister do not hold back", Zhan Chen spoke. There was a look of yearning in his eyes as he looked towards Deng Yue.
"Okay, I will not hold back anymore. Let me know if my attacks are too much for you", Deng Yue warned.
The environment around her changed subtly as a fierce wind blew. The wind was not gentle at all. Rather it felt too hot to Zhan Chen's skin.
"Dual element attribute!", Zhan Chen murmured with a slightly surprised expression. From the fierce wind, he could tell that Deng Yue was proficient in manipulating both the fire element and the wind element.
"Inferno breeze thrust", Deng Yue suddenly thrusted both of her swords towards Zhan Chen and a burning sword came flashing towards him. The attack was extremely swift and fierce. It appeared before him even before he could react.
Zhan Chen used Ethereal cloud steps and shifted his body to the side. A dull sound was heard as the Inferno breeze thrust landed on the ground. There was a two feet deep burning hole appeared on the ground where the thrust was landed.
"Blaze typhoon strike", Deng Yue launched another attack as soon as she done launching her first attack. Zhan Chen dodged hurriedly as a burning slash came crashing towards his chest.
"Windbreaker sword", Zhan Chen decided to launch an preemptive attack as soon as he dodged her second attack. He swung his sword upward and launched a verical slash towards Deng Yue.
Deng Yue swung her twin swords and defended herself. Her eyes gleamed with interest as she observed the battle hunger in Zhan Chen's eyes.
Spectacular attacks came from both the sides as Zhan Chen and Deng Yue traaded blows. The sky was glimmering with colourful brilliance as both of them employed various techniques they had learned so far in their lives.
Both Deng Yue and Zhan Chen seemed to be equally matched at first. But gradually, Deng Yue fell into a disadvantage. Zhan Chen's attacks became more powerful and fierce, the longer he fought with Deng Yue. Finally a time came when Deng Yue had to use the cultivation of Martial ascension realm to defend herself.
"Elder sister Yue, please keep attacking. I would like to have a battle with equal cultivation base", Zhan Chen requested.
"Okay", Deng Yue smiled softly. She was hesitant to employ all her power at first but gradually she immersed herself in the battle. Zhan Chen's attacks were an eye opener for her as she got to learn some ingenious ways to use essence energy. Zhan Chen also learned few tricks which Deng Yue had employed in the battle.
It was first time in this life that he got to use most of his sword techniques in a battle. Zhan Chen let go of all of his restraints and started to attack Deng Yue freely. Deng Yue slowly fell into a disadvantage once again after fighting Zhan Chen for a while.
"Let's increase another cultivation stage. If he can still push me into a corner, I will admit my inferiority", Deng Yue thought to herself. She loosened up the restriction on her cultivation base and used a cultivation of second stage Martial ascension realm to fight Zhan Chen.
Both of them employed powerful techniques unique to Martial ascension realm cultivators. There were numerous collision sounds as both Deng Yue and Zhan Chen traded blows. Both of them didn't even realise that they were fighting for hours already. Huang Mei was planning to stop them but Shui Liying didn't allow her to interfere.
"Senior sister, don't stop them. I can tell that both of them are enjoying this fight. Little girl Yue is already fighting with a cultivation of second stage of the Martial ascension realm. If she couldn't overpower Zhan Chen with a higher cultivation base, she would give up definitely. We just need to wait patiently for one of them to stop", Shui Liying spoke.
The battle was fierce and deadly. None of them are using their most potent moves but their normal techniques were enough to cause lethal damage to their opponents. The blinding light engulfed her attack completely and approached her at a lightning speed. Deng Yue count even offer up a resistance as the blinding light engulfed her.
The attack subsided after few seconds. Deng Yue was not injured at all as she saved herself by using an essence energy shield but her mind was completely at chaos at this moment. The profoundness of Zhan Chen's last attack, far exceeded her expectation.
"Little brother Chen, I admit my inferiority. I am no match for you in the same cultivation level", she admitted her lose frankly.

A smile appeared on Deng Yue's beautiful face after she heard Zhan Chen's words. She felt, she could spend more time with this junior brother of hers.
"Little brother, let's head back to the Oak ridge town. It has been hours since we have left our base", Deng Yue spoke.
