Chapter 414 Leaving the White mist forest range
The lifeless bodies of the shadow devils fell to the ground after they fought with Zhan Chen. It was only few minutes since they attacked Zhan Chen but the group of five shadow devils were completely demolished by Zhan Chen. Four were killed due to soul injuries and one became a slave.
Zhan Chen left his shadow slave, He Jun, to protect the rest of his group members while he ventured deeper into the White Mist Forest. He proceeded cautiously although he was aware about the location of the rest of the shadow devils. He had already witnessed the insidious plot of the shadow devils . So, he chose to stay cautious while approaching them. After walking for a while, he reached the location where the previous group from the Xuantian sect had been ambushed and slaughtered by the devils.
Zhan Chen looked around and a frown appeared on his face. The Xuantian sect disciples fought such a desperate battle but there was no trace left behind on the spot. Even he would have got fooled if he had not witnessed the memory of He Jun.
"These group of devils were really troublsome. They were good in both sneak attack and wiping out the evidences," Zhan Chen thought to himself. He spread his soul consciousness and found the leader of the shadow devil and the Earth devil who was hiding below the surface. 'Shadow devils are troublesome to deal with but the most difficult ones were Earth devil', he thought to himself. He came to this conclusion after seeing the memory of He Jun.
He decided to prioritize dealing with the Earth devil before confronting the leader of the shadow devils. The Earth devil posed a significant threat due to its formidable defense and earth manipulation abilities, making it a challenging opponent even for Heavenly tribulation orealm experts.
Using his soul consciousness, Zhan Chen took a good look at the Earth devil who was hiding approximately three hundred meters below the surface. The devil had a burly physique with yellowish skin and was covered in spikes on its hands and legs. Its appearance was fierce and it was completely in sync with the underground environment.
"Such a combination of defensive abilities and earth manipulation ability. No wonder He Jun, a shadow devil had such a huge impression about them," Zhan Chen acknowledged the devil's strength. Despite being only a Martial Ascension realm cultivator, the Earth devil's power could challenge the Heavenly tribulation realm experts.
"There is no point in killing such a devil. These devils were more useful to me while alive", Zhan Chen pondered inside his mind. He contemplated his options and found getting an Earth devil as a slave was the best idea.
He was a helpless witness to the tragedy, his people had suffered in his previous life. In this life, he had vowed to become powerful and was planning to establish a power which could face any challenges in this world. To create such a power, he would need many subordinates. So, he made up his mind to get the Earth devil as one of his subordinates.
A glint appeared in his eyes, causing the Earth devil to sense an imminent threat. It instinctively tried to resist, but its resistance was futile infront of his soul strength.
The Earth devil's eyes became dull for a moment before regaining it's previous colour. A complicated seal appeared on its soul and it had no more resistance towards him. "Travel underground along with me. I will make arrangement for He Jun and you before entering the sect territory of the Xuantian sect", Zhan Chen spoke inside it's mind.
"Subordinate obeys your command", the Earth devil spoke. Zhan Chen looked towards a distant direction after dealing with the troublesome Earth devil.
A golden eyes monkey was hiding amidst the thick foliage of a big tree. It's eyes were cautious as it looked towards Zhan Chen.
Zhan Chen smiled slightly after seeing it's cautious expression. He knew how crafty the shadow devils actually were. So, he decided to deal with the shadow devil while it was inside the body of the golden eyed monkey.
He separated a tiny portion of his soul and mould it into a sword shape. He gave a command and the soul sword went flying towards the golden eyed monkey.
If it was any martial technique, the shadow devil could have dodged somehow but the nature of technique was extremely mysterious. It took only a moment before soul sword stabbed into the body of the golden eyed monkey. It easily passed through the body of the golden eyed monkey and stabbed into the soul of the shadow devil.
The soul sword was very accurate as it didn't injure the soul of the golden eyed monkey. "How is it possible?", the shadow devil muttered in disbelief. It's body materialized outside the body of the golden eyed monkey before it's conciousness started to get blurred.
"Thud!", the body of the shadow devil crashed into the ground and produced a dull sound. It was already dead by the time it's body landed on the ground.
The golden eyed monkey had a confused expression for a moment before it regained clarity. A look of rage appeared on it's face when it's eyes fell upon the body of the shadow devil.
It drummed it's metallic chest before jumping towards the ground. It swung it's hands wildly after falling upon the body of the shadow devil. The shadow devil's head deformed after the golden eyed monkey pounded it's fist.
The rage of the Golden eyed monkey was yet to abate as it pounded on the chest of the shadow devil. Zhan Chen shook his head after seeing the scene. He could understand the behaviour of the golden eyed monkey. It was extremely enraged after being posessed by the shadow devil.

Ying Chao rushed towards the White mist forest after receiving the signal from Zhan Chen. He was slightly nervous because he didn't know what kind of danger Zhan Chen had faced.
Zhan Chen had already killed another group of shadow devils when Ying Chao appeared by his side. A kook of disbelief appeared on Ying Chao 's face after he saw the corpses of five shadow devils.
"Zhan Chen, what is going on?", He looked towards Zhan Chen. His mind was still in a mess because all the dead shadow devils were Martial ascension realm experts.
"Senior, the White mist forest is a trap all along. The devils has dispatched group of shadow devils to ambush our disciples. I don't know the fate of the disciples who has come earlier but I am sure that they are either eliminated or are still being chased by the shadow devils", Zhan Chen spoke. He didn't disclose the matter of Earth devil because he didn't want to expose all of his cards.
"An ambush!", a frown appeared on the face of Ying Chao. He felt a bad premonition after hearing the words of Zhan Chen.
"Senior, please keep my kills a secret. I don't want to expose the fact that I have already broke through to the Martial ascension realm", Zhan Chen spoke.
