Chapter 413 Sinister plot
Zhan Chen's soul consciousness delved deeper into the memories of the shadow devil named He Jun. As the memories unfolded, he gained insight into the planning and actions of the shadow devils. The vicious plot of the devils became apparent, and Zhan Chen realized the extent of their cunning and deception.
"So, you five are called shadow devils," Zhan Chen spoke to He Jun within his mind. "As for the one hiding inside the ground, it's an earth devil. You devils are surely treacherous. No wonder you were able to kill a group of Xuantian sect disciples on your own."

He couldn't say directly that devils had laid a trap for all of them. No one would beleive him because he couldn't produce any evidence. He had his devil slave as a proof but he wouldn't prouce him before others unless it was absolutely necessary. Everyone would doubt how a young man like him could subdue a Martial ascension realm devil and that would raise further complications.
"Senior brother Chen, don't worry. I will take care of our group", Zhen Yuan replied. Zhan Chen nodded at him and ran towards the eastern direction. His silhouettes merged in between the think foliages and he soon disappeared from the view of his group members.
"There are at least seven group of devils who are hunting the Xuantian sect disciples. I can handle almost two. Other groups are spread farther and I have no information about their location", Zhan Chen thought to himself.

"Brother Hou, he is not my type. He appears very thin and I can't satiate my hunger with such low quantity food", a shadow devil spoke.
"It is only a single human. There is no need to think much", another devil chimed in.
"In that case, let me go first. I will not compete with you brothers, if another lone person shows up", the devil who had initiated the conversation earlier, proposed. Other four devils agreed to this arrangement and let their companion made his move on Zhan Chen.
Zhan Chen behaved like he didn't notice anything. He pretended to be cautious and walked across the path where the shadow devils were hiding. The shadow devil who had bargained with his companions for Zhan Chen, made his move after Zhan Chen passed through the pathway. His figure materialized in the thin air and in the next moment, he turned into a black streak and flew towards Zhan Chen's body.
"Interesting!", Zhan Chen's lips curled up a little. He suddenly made a backhand slash with his sword and a shriek came from the behind.
"What kind of sword energy is this!", the devil exclaimed with a horrified expression. He couldn't hide anymore and materialized into his true form after Zhan Chen slashed him with his sword.
There was a long cut on the chest of the shadow devil. Black blood oozed out and the devil looked towards Zhan Chen with a horrified expression on his face.
The shadow devils were generally blessed with a flexible body. They could mould themselves into any shape and avoid the essence energy attacks threw at them. Their movement technique was among the best of the devil races. Yet, a young human cultivator manage to wound him severely while he was using his movement technique. How could the shadow devil not be terrified? Even his four companions were looking at Zhan Chen with tepidation in their eyes.
"Brothers, what should we do?", a devil sent a mental communication to his companions.
"Let's attack together. We do not have a option to escape since it is a mission from that mad man", another shadow devil spoke
"Fine", all the shadow devils decided to attack Zhan Chen simultaneously. Another four figures materialized infront of Zhan Chen as the shadow devils encircled him from every direction.
"Bloodline technique, shadow claw", a shadow devil roared out and swung his hand towards Zhan Chen. Other four also coordinated and attacked simultaneously. Four attacks came crashing towards Zhan Chen but one attack, directly went towards a shadow devil who was attacking Zhan Chen.
"Mountain breaking slash", Zhan Chen crouched down slightly and launched a whirlwind slash upward. The four gigantic claws cut into pieces after they came in contact with Zhan Chen's technique.
"He Jun, you traitor!", a shadow devil roared out furiously. He had a gaping hole in his chest after being attacked by He Jun.
"No one shall touch master", He Jun spoke coldly. He had already accepted his fate. So, he was now completely devoted to Zhan Chen's cause.
"Escape, we need to inform commander", a devil muttered. His figure vanished into thin air as soon as he spoke. Other devils also noticed the situation was our of control. So, they chose to fleee decisively. They needed to inform their upper echelons about the variation regarding their plan. A young human could actually control one of their tribe member, it was a very dangerous variable. They needed to inform everyone and eliminate this young man for their own safety. Such a dangerous person was a threat to their Abhorst empire's ambition.
"You think, it is so easy to escape", suddenly a voice came. The shadow devils who were trying frantically to escape, found out that they couldn't move their bodies. A piercing pain came from their souls all of a sudden and they collapsed on the ground after struggling for few moments.
