Zhan Chen sensed a barrier outside his room when he spread his soul consciousness. The barrier was a wood energy barrier and very powerful. Zhan Chen immediately guessed whose handiwork it would be.
"Husband, you are finally awake", Zhan Chen heard the voice of Shui Liying inside his mind. He had already noticed one of her soul mark on the wooden energy barrier. So, it was not surprising that she found out after he ended his seclusion.
"Liying, thanks for protecting me during my seclusion. I do not have anything to payback. So, I can only offer my body to you", Zhan Chen replied.
Shui Liying who was floating along with other emperors blushed after she heard Zhan Chen's words. Her blush became deeper when she recalled her intimate moments with Zhan Chen.
"Husband, be serious for once. The situation outside is getting out of hand quickly. I suggest you to leave the Yellow stone city as soon as possible while we have time", Shui Liying projected her voice.
"Tell me, what happened?", Zhan Chen asked calmly. He could notice her concern for him from her voice.
"Devils are getting stronger by each passing moment. There is an endless number of devils pouring out from the spatial crack as we are speaking. There are four more devil emperors in their side now. As for the Heavenly tribulation realm devils, their number has reached almost fifty", Shui Liying spoke. She once again urged Zhan Chen to leave the Yellow stone city after considering the grim situation awaiting for the human cultivators.
"Undo the essence energy barrier. Let me check the condition first. If it is only emperor realm experts, the situation is not out of control yet", Zhan Chen replied. Shui Liying wanted to retort but he could see the confident expression on Zhan Chen's face. She thought to herself for a moment before undoing the essence energy barrier.

Her elder sister Huang Mei was also present with her. He saw their direction of gaze and found out that all of them were looking towards devil army. All of the emperors wore serious expression on their faces as they saw the surging devil forces infront of them.
'Looks like the situation is really grim. I need to see for once what is actually the situation', Zhan Chen thought to himself. He decided to take a risk and spread his soul consciousness.
He was quite cautious in spreading his soul consciousness and increased his reach little by little. His soul consciousness gradually passed through the confine of the Yellow stone city and spread towards the battlefield.
It took him few moments but he finally got to observe what the situation outside the Yellow stone city was like.
The number of devils in the devil army had multipled while he was in seclusion. The weakest devil in the devil army had Core condensation realm cultivation. As for the Martial ascension realm sldevils, they were almost four hundred in numbers. As for the Heavenly tribulation realm devils, their number was close to fifty.
A frown appeared on his face as he took a look at the gathered devil emperors. There were almost four new additions to their number.
Two devil emperor had mid emperor realm cultivation. One had late emperor realm cultivation as the for the last devil emperor who was standing next to a female devil emperor, his cultivation was at the peak of emperor realm.
Zhan Chen felt the peak emperor was slightly peculiar as he looked towards the peak emperor closely. Suddenly, the peak emperor sensed something and tried to look back at the source of the soul consciousness. A scarlet light appeared in his eyes as he looked towards the boundaries of the Yellow stone city.
Zhan Chen hurriedly retracted his soul consciousness and the devil found nothing but thin air. His soul consciousness linged on the city wall for a while before he retracted his soul consciousness. 'This devil is slightly troublesome. He has already pushed his soul strength to the early sage realm', Zhan Chen thought to himself.
He was slightly surprised but someone was more surprised than him. It was the peak emperor realm devil expert, Hua Zhen Long. "What a scary soul consciousness. The person was atleast a peak Law Manifestation realm expert. Fortunately, the emperor has send some treasures to deal with such experts. Otherwise, our forces are like chicken and dogs infront of such an expert", Hua Zhen Long murmured to himself. His carefree expression was vanished as he decided to warn his companions about the peak Law Manifestation realm expert.
Zhan Chen didn't know that his soul strength had helped the Yellow stone city somehow. The devils would become wary of his presence while attacking the Yellow stone city. It could give human cultivators some respite from the ruthless attacks of the devil army.
"Liying, can you come down? I need to talk with you", Zhan Chen murmured. He knew Shui Liying was observing all of his actions. So, his words wouldn't go unnoticed.
"Husband, what is the matter? Where do you want me to meet with you?", Shui Liying asked. She could see the thoughtful expression on Zhan Chen's face. So, she wanted to know what Zhan Chen was thinking.
"Come to the mansion where both of us are dual cultivating", Zhan Chen spoke. He flew back to the mansion where both of them were staying.
"Senior sister, I am going back to cultivate. Please inform me if there is anything urgent", Shui Liying spoke to Huang Mei. She was not keeping her voice low. So, other emperors could hear what she spoke to Huang Mei.
They merely glanced at her after hearing her words. It would not bother them if an emperor wanted to cultivate for a while. "Junior sister Liying, you can rest assured. Cultivate as much you want. I will inform if situation spiralled out of control", Huang Mei replied.
Shui Liying nodded at her before flying towards the small mansion where she was staying earlier. Huang Mei only fmgave a glance to the small mansion before shifting her gaze to the devil army. There was no hindrance when Shui Liying met with Zhan Chen.
"Husband, what do you want to speak with me?", Shui Liying asked after meeting Zhan Chen.
