"Why are you in the frontline?", Zhan Chen asked with a frown and appeared behind Lan Yueyue 's back. He placed his hand on Lan Yueyue's injured back and sent his essence energy into Lan Yueyue's body.
"Brat, who are you? How dare you touch young miss like this?", an expert howled from the side. Lan Yueyue 's other subordinates also had angry expression on their faces as they glared towards Zhan Chen.
"Shut up. Don't embarass me infront of our guest. All of you return to the wall. I will accompany him for a while", Lan Yueyue spoke to her subordinates. Her subordinates had doubtful look on their faces but they couldn't ignore her order. For a while, all of them found themselves struck because they couldn't decide what to do.
"Go back. Your young miss will be safe with me. To make you more assured, the strongest among you is allowed to stay", Zhan Chen spoke. All of her subordinates found the proposal of Zhan Chen acceptable. So, they left quickly. Only a single subordinate who was at Tribulation realm stayed back and Zhan Chen didn't have any problem with him. It was because he was completely familiar with the tribulation realm expert whom he had made his slave, the previous time he met Lan Yueyue.
"Greetings master", the tribulation realm expert greeted Zhan Chen after everyone left. Zhan Chen nodded his head nonchalantly and looked towards Lan Yueyue.
"Zhan Chen, why are you here?", she asked with a concerned expression on her face. She was clearly happy that she got to see Zhan Chen but she was also worried because the ongoing battle with the devil army. His presence soothed her heart but she still felt worried about the safety of Zhan Chen.
"I also want to ask the same question. Lan Yueyue, why are you here? Don't you know how dangerous a battle is? Moreover, what we are facing is no humans, they are devils, far more stronger than ordinary warriors", Zhan Chen looked towards Lan Yueyue.
He had already stabilized her wound but he was visibly upset by her recklessness in the battle. He couldn't understand why would she poke her nose in the matter of a different city other than her own Hundred blossom city.
"Zhan Chen, I have a good reason for joining this battle. I will explain to you but let us leave this place first. I also want to know why have you decided to join this battle?", she looked towards Zhan Chen.
"Fine, let's move away from crowd. Battle is at a standstill now. I can join the battle when both side decides to clash again", Zhan Chen spoke. He picked up a quiet location with his soul consciousness and led Lan Yueyue towards that location.
It was a small building that Zhan Chen had picked. It's owner probably had fled after learning the arrival of devils. Zhan Chen led Lan Yueyue into the house while the tribulation realm expert stayed outside. Lan Yueyue immediately latched herself to Zhan Chen after they entered the building.
"Zhan Chen, it is nice to see you again", she spoke while holding Zhan Chen's hand. "I am also glad to see you here. But it is unexpected that you were in the frontline", he replied with a soft voice.
Zhan Chen, I found imperial family 's attitude doubtful. They are more than capable to vanquish this devil army but they have yet to act. Even my family has received an order to not mobilize our experts to fight the devils.
I feel doubtful and come here to check the spatial cracks. Who knows, situation will become so drastic within a day? I have sent letters to imperial army and they had promised to come. But you can see, no one from the imperial family is here yet.

She had a determined expression on her face as she explained the reason for joining the battle. Zhan Chen found her more attractive, the more he listened to her.
"Zhan Chen, what do you think? Am I foolish? Have I done the right thing to disobey my family 's order and join the battle in the Yellow stone city?", she looked towards Zhan Chen. Her valiant self now had an insecure expression on her face as she looked towards Zhan Chen.
"Who said, my Yueyue is foolish? She is the most brave and benevolent girl, I have seen. Even I am unaware that my Yueyue is such a good girl", Zhan Chen replied. He had a tender expression on his face as he looked towards Lan Yueyue.
"Do you really think so?", she asked with a shy expression on her face. She was feeling sweet all over her heart after listening to Zhan Chen's word of praises. Moreover, it was the first time Zhan Chen had used such intimate words for her.
"You do not have to worry about your city. I will make sure that your city is protected no matter how powerful an enemy is", Zhan Chen spoke. He pulled her closer by holding her waist and looked towards her with a tender expression.
"Zhan Chen, I have told you my reason. But I have yet to learn, why are you here? Is it your sect's order or have you come here with your own choice?", she asked while looking at Zhan Chen.
Zhan Chen could see her concern for him. So, he felt really touched. He lowered his head to put a kiss on her lips and proceeded to tell her his reason for coming to the Yellow stone city.
"Yueyue, you probably don't know but I am more selfish than you. I have no concern for the Earth province but I am concerned about my people. The sole reason I am here because few of my women are fighting. Moreover, I thought it would best to take a look at the evolving situation and the battle prowess of the devil army", Zhan Chen replied. He had nothing to hide infront of her. So, he spoke her the reason for his arrival truthfully.
"Zhan Chen, can you do it again?", Lan Yueyue asked suddenly. She felt a sudden impulse to have a taste of Zhan Chen. Zhan could easily understand what she need. So, he obliged readily. He lowered his head and connected his lips with Lan Yueyue's.
Both of them tasted eachother's saliva for few minutes and Lan Yueyue finally excused herself when she felt breathless. "Zhan Chen, can you promise me one thing?", she looked towards Zhan Chen.
"Sure, let me know what do you want?", he looked towards Lan Yueyue.
"Don't be reckless in the battle. I will join you in the battle after cultivating for a while", she spoke. Zhan Chen shared another kiss with her before leaving the stone building. He instructed the Tribulation realm expert to guide her properly and walked towards the city wall.
All the cultivators of the Xuantian sect had gathered near the city wall. The elders who led them were floating on the air. Zhan Chen took a look with his soul consciousness and found there were total nine Tribulation realm experts who had come from the Xuantian sect.
As for those who were at Martial ascension realm, there numbers was around two hundred. As for cultivators with cultivation of Core Condensation realm, there numbers was plenty. They could add upto almost eight hundred.
It was a staggering number of cultivators which highlighted the martial power of the Xuantian sect. The Xuantian sect seem determined to eliminate the devils which was evident from the fighting force, they had gathered.
The battle was stalled at this moment as both sides were careful about their opponents. Zhan Chen kicked the ground and easily climbed the twenty feet tall city wall. The experts who were standing on the city wall were all elites. They felt surprised for a moment after seeing how easily Zhan Chen leaped on to the city wall.
"Are you a disciple of our sect?", an elder looked towards Zhan Chen. He generally stayed in seclusion. So, he couldn't recognise Zhan Chen after seeing him.
"Elder Mu, he is the new core disciple, everyone is talking about. But I don't understand, why the sect has allowed someone like him to join this battle", another elder spoke before Zhan Chen could reply. Zhan Chen slightly bowed towards elder Mu to show courtesy and focused his eyes on the devil army.
'Devils have less experts compared to us but they have numerical advantage. Moreover, that group of young devils are a formidable bunch. If more devils come in from the spatial crack, it will be problematic for our Xuantian sect. So, the key is early strike and eliminate as much as possible before support arrives for the devil army', Zhan Chen thought to himself.
