318 Chapter 317: Cocky words of a cocky God

Alex had no time to pay attention to the war of the God of death when he had an army to swap with ahead of him. His forces were far smaller than that of the enemy so he was lacking severely.

“They are not attacking even when they have the number advantage, strange... This is not the Beyond’s style” Cassius said with a deep frown.

The enemy wasn’t advancing or retreating, they just stood there in wait for minutes now. Looking at this, Alex agreed that this wasn’t the Beyond’s style.

Someone who took the initiative to confront him as soon as he stepped into the battlefield. It felt like the Beyond was holding back from throwing everything at Alex. But who was holding the Beyond back?

Buzzz!

Alex frowned deeply as Damon’s image flashed across his mind and his spine shivered as fear crept into his body. Just like the way of manipulating the army of the God of Death, the God of Death was manipulating the Beyond’s forces.

By having all of them focus solely on defense their chances of falling are lower, meanwhile, it will give Damon enough time to deal with the issue in the southern province and come over here.

“Damn... I really underestimated that bastard” Alex said with a crazed grin on his face.

Only Damon has managed to surprise him with each encounter, regardless of the situation. Even when he was on the losing side, he always found a way to make things difficult for the enemy.

.....

“Do you think you have won?”

Damon’s words rang in Alex’s head as the God of deaths image became more detailed and vivid in Alex’s mind.

“Prepare for battle” Alex’s eyes chilled with resolve as he looked at the battlefield ahead, fearlessly.

Since Damon is fighting back, he should at least do the same.

His words shocked Cassius who was expecting a retreat order yet he got something different.

Swoosh!

Alex jumped off the platform and to the ground.

Buzzz!

Cassius shivered as he watched the man in the black leather jacket and jeans, walking toward the twenty thousand strong soldiers of the soldiers alone.

“Just watch my back and make sure I don’t get flanked by the thirty thousand hiding in the shadows” Alex waved his hand carelessly as he walked forward alone like it was something normal.

He didn’t even give Cassius the chance to protest against his decision.

“A world of magicians... I would like to see what you all are capable of” Alex said with a cold look in his eyes as his murderous intentions flared.

On an elevated platform, Belial the God of sword could be seen seated with the cosmic spirit of Sun seated beside him. Belial was dressed in bright blue robes with drawings of the sea embedded into the kimono. He had dark blue hair tied back into a ponytail and four swords strapped to both sides of his waist meanwhile the Cosmic spirit of the Sun was in a bright golden knight’s armor with a sun symbol carved into the chest of his armor. A mighty golden broadsword stabbed into the floor of the platform where they sat.

The duo wore ugly looks on their faces as they watched a lone figure approach their army. Never did they expect one man would dare walk toward an entire army alone. The only two people crazy enough to do things like this, are the Beyond and the God of Death and Destruction, Damon Ross.

“We have another mad man to deal with. This explains why the Beyond requested we deal with him together” Belial said with a deep frown.

With each step this man took his power kept swelling, it felt like the Beyond was inferior to this mine. The only person who has ever made them question the strength of the Beyond was Damon Ross, now another person is doing the same.

“Prepare for war... Archers, forward” the cosmic spirit of Sun was in no mood to entertain wild thoughts against his master.

He gave the order and quickly his soldier began to move forward and take positions.

His eyes shifted to Belial who seemed lost in thought while looking deeply into the battlefield.

“Are you thinking of getting our reserves involved in this battle? With that we can increase our chances of killing this man” The cosmic spirit of Sun said but Belial shook his head with a disapproving smile.

“This is exactly why those soldiers are yet to move” Belial pointed in the direction of Cassius and his ten thousand strong soldiers.

“Once our reserves appear, they will act as a shield and protect the otherworldly invader but the same goes for them. As long as our reserves don’t appear, they will not move” Belial said with a cruel smile.

“As long as we don’t move our forces, the battle will remain a stalemate and we will maintain the statement we wish for,” The cosmic spirit of Sun said and Belial nodded with a smile.

The duo stood up from their thrones and placed their hands on their weapons with crazed smiles.

“Our soldiers don’t need to move. We can simply use them as support while he keeps this otherworldly invader pinned” Belial said and the cosmic spirit of Sun nodded.

As long as they don’t lose sight of their goal there is nothing to fear.

They are not here to win a war, they are just here to make sure they don’t lose.

Sending in soldiers at someone like this will only fuel his power without achieving much. The best thing to do is depend on ranged support while holding these men down themselves.

Thud!

Thud!

Roar!

Soldiers of the Northern province let out loud cries as their two deities stepped forward to fight for them personally.

Watching the two walk through the thousands of organized soldiers, any man would feel ecstatic but Alex felt insulted.

“These small fry deities dare stand in my way? Not even the God of death has the right to stand in my path! Alex Briggs has no equal!” Alex declared in one furious bellow.
