Chapter 321 Lu Bao's Revelations, Playing Along

"Tell me why I'm going to spare you. Xie Dou has at least provided me something to spare his life," Yang Lujia talked to Lu Bao as he stared at the man with darting eyes. It was as though he was staring at his prey, ready to pounce on it anytime—not to get themselves some meat but information.

Xie Dou was only a mere Fiend Ancestor of the Fiend Emperor Palace. To Yang Lujia, the information he would get from him would not be as much valuable as Lu Bao could give him. Despite his strength, Xie Dou was merely an ant in his eyes that he could kill at any time.

Lu Bao circulated his qi as he tried to summon some attacks. To his horror, however, none of his arts worked. Even after his repeated insistence of using his power to counter Yang Lujia's deterrence—he found out that he could not do so.

Afterward, he looked at the little boy beside Yang Lujia. That little boy's eyes were shining blue. It terrified him that he almost prostrated to the ground to beg for the little boy's mercy.

The Path of Dominance!

Long Guang had cultivated the Path of Dominance! Unlike him, Long Guang could be said to be his nemesis.

Ancient sayings said that no one could conquer the dark. However, there would always be exceptions to the rule. Just like how dark could not be conquered by anyone, so would its absence be—light.

Long Guang's Path of Dominance had a domineering light that could wash away the darkness in his body. In fact, from Long Guang's gaze alone, he felt like his whole body went weaker—and not just by a small margin!

"You are not even a match against me. How are you going to fight my master? It's futile to struggle, little ant."

'You're the little ant, you fucker!' Lu Bao almost cussed that his entire face turned red after being called out by a little brat like that. He would not have imagined that after becoming a Saint Emperor, someone would dare to call him a 'little ant'.

"If you can be of use to me, I can spare you. Moreover, no matter how you want to escape from my grasp, you won't be able to," Yang Lujia interrupted their staring competition as Lu Bao also looked his way toward him.

He was speechless. Uttering a single word seemed to be much harder than he had thought. This matter alone shocked the hell out of him. Lu Bao, like any other Saint Emperors, was very proud of himself. After all, only a few people could reach his realm. However, in front of the young man, he was nothing but a speck of dust in the middle of the rain—he could not be seen at all.

Yang Lujia looked at the changing expressions of Lu Bao and knew that the man was having a hard time making his choices. He understood this part. However, becoming part of a scheme that was against his disciple's favor, he could not afford to forgive him. Although he had only been with his fourth disciple, Sheng Ao, for a very short time, he had a glimpse of this young monk's character and he liked him quite a bit. Moreover, becoming his disciple would mean he would be under his protection.

No matter what, no one would be allowed to touch the people around him and those who and which belonged to him.

"I want to know everything you know about this Realm Amalgamation," Yang Lujia said. "If you dare to lie to me, I wouldn't mind searching your memories."

Not knowing that it was only a bluff, Lu Bao suffered the blow of lightning striking the depths of his heart—evoking the fear he thought he had already long abandoned. Seeing that Yang Lujia was interested with their plans, he realized that an unknown variable this time had appeared and even if they succeeded in this Realm Amalgamation, they wouldn't be able to reap its benefits.

Lu Bao heaved a sigh and breathed in like it was the last breath he could take.

"The Realm Amalgamation, just like…" Lu Bao looked at Sheng Ao and then at Yang Fei. "I assume that you already know the general knowledge about Realm Amalgamation. Yes, Realm Amalgamation is the fusion of Da Shikong, Da Sishen, and Da Shenghou, the three lower realms under the Realms of Destruction and Creation. Once we achieve that, we would be able to reach new heights in our cultivation. However, there is more to this than what others know… I heard it once from the Temporal Lord himself while talking with his equal, the Time Temporal Lord."

Yang Lujia raised one of his brows, interested of what this Lu Bao heard from these Temporal Lords.

"Legends say that Da Shikong and the other realms were created by an extremely powerful being. To say the least, he should be an immortal god that had lived for eons—someone who could not be killed. In the records of the Space Temple, he was called 'The Creator' or 'The Divine Realmer,' and there are other bunch of names that people from the ancient times called him like that—"

"Get to the point."

Seeing the impatience in Yang Lujia's eyes, Lu Bao did not dare dillydally and immediately explained what he was about to say. With that, his face turned dark as he looked at the young man in front of him. Despite his fear, he still felt the chills every time he'd recall what the Space Temporal Lord told the other lord.

"None shall stop his descent. When he arrives, he shall be in a war. When he ascends, calamities shall cease. By the time he becomes insuppressible, the direction of the wind you intend to blow shall change…"

For some reason, when Yang Lujia heard what Lu Bao said, his heart twitched a little as though it was happy... or rather… as though he was happy upon hearing this statement.

"That poem?" Yang Fei looked at Lu Bao in surprise. "What does this have to do with the Realm Amalgamation? I have heard this poem quite a number of times. I didn't think it would be something significant that it was something related to Realm Amalgamation."

"Yes," Lu Bao said. "As for its correlation with Realm Amalgamation—well, it's say to say that Realm Amalgamation, in a certain sense, is a calamity that would befall in Da Shikong. After all, with its commencement and after it was done, the realm would experience a state of being shield-less, defenseless… and with such, void beasts would attack the natives inside—inciting bloodshed and war in small towns and cities alike…"

"And with that, only the person who descends can prevent this calamity from happening?" Yang Lujia got the gist of everything as he looked at Lu Bao with fiery intent evident in his eyes. "Does that mean that there is someone who can stop it?"

Lu Bao shook his head and said, "No matter whether the poem was true or not, the fact that the Realm Amalgamation had begun, it means that it could not be stopped anymore. I think what the poem meant is for that 'person' to stop the wars and bloodshed from happening despite the exposure to imminent and endless danger during the Realm Amalgamation."

"It's not a problem to stop it actually," Yang Lujia casually said. "I don't need to stop the commencement of the Realm Amalgamation. However, there is someone who can stop the void beasts' invasion."

Lu Bao was shocked. In fact, he already had suspicions in his heart. That Yang Lujia, this young man before him, might be the person referred by whoever wrote this poem, this prophecy. After all, given Yang Lujia's strength, he really couldn't say anything at all. This kid was just too abnormal. He could not feel this type of invisible intimidation from anyone he had met, including the Temporal Lord himself.

"Yang Fei, as a void beast, I leave this task to you. Prevent the void beasts from invading the realms. I don't want to become a savior, but with that poem, it's interesting to just follow what it means. I also wanted to know who wrote it."

To be able to peer into the future like this, and given how ancient this poem was, the one who wrote this must be a very powerful cultivator.

'In that case, why don't I play along? With my strength, I find it boring to just sit and not do anything anyway.'
