Chapter 312 Gu Tian's Planned Scheme

Those words overturned Long Sheng's world.

It was said that the most hurtful words come at the time when you least expected it.

Gu Tian was a friend of his ever since he was young. When he had no one to play because all of the dragon royalties were busy with their own businesses and every day, as a kid, he would be left alone. Their maids would not dare talk to a royalty like him as well, so he had no one to talk to.

At that time, he felt how monotonous his life as a child was. However, his monotonous became suddenly very bright because of his appearance—another child who visited his courtyard like a ghost. It turned out that this kid was one of the geniuses raised by a Temporal Lord. He was a mischievous one and he always liked to escape from the Temporal Lord's sight.

Before, it seemed like an accident when they met. Now, Long Sheng thought different.

All of those happened for something. There was a motive behind his every action.

"What are you talking about?" Long Sheng almost stuttered and looked at Gu Tian incredulously. "Brother Gu…"

"Don't call me Brother Gu anymore." Gu Tian sneered and snorted. "Just like what I said, you are no longer needed. You have already fulfilled your task. It turns out that the Dragon Ancestor of the Dragon Emperor Palace was this easy to manipulate."

Yang Lujia, who was watching by the side, felt goosebumps crawling up his back. This scheming that stemmed from Long Sheng's childhood until now was one of the most sinister plots he had encountered.

How would Long Sheng feel? How would he react? He couldn't even drop his jaw to try to utter a single word. Nothing came out of his mouth. Only the glistening tears demonstrated all the unspoken emotions he was feeling at the moment.

What did he do? Did he do wrong? Where did it all go wrong? Were all of those memories he had with his best brother fake? Were any of those even real? Long Sheng didn't know what to feel anymore.

"Tch," Gu Tian reacted.

He had a refined face but was much younger-looking than the Dragon Ancestor. It also seemed like he used some manipulation of the time rules to distort and change his appearance into someone younger. The Dragon Ancestor could probably do the same but chose to remain growing old like a normal person. That was why he looked old—like an ancient old man who woke from his long-term slumber.

"Long Sheng, I never thought of you as a brother. Don't you know my nickname was? Did you not know that I was hailed as the 'Master of Emotions'? I control people's emotions and let them rot away as a source of my strength. That's how I got to become who I am today. And you…" Gu Tian looked at him coldly. "You are not an exception."

'Ouch,' Yang Lujia commented in his mind. 'That's quite harsh. I am curious, though. Is it some kind of path to be able control or manipulate someone's emotions?'

"Master, if you're wondering about what he said. I can tell you more about it. Gu Tian is one of the highest-standing chiefs of one of the temples. He was called the 'Master of Emotions' because he had already manipulated several people through his schemes and wise moves. It was like he was playing chess when he does this, according to the rumors," Sheng Ao explained, seeing his master's confusion.

Yang Lujia merely nodded and looked at this Gu Tian seriously. 'He's like me, then. However, he seems to be shrewder. I don't know if I handled this kind of situation in the past but I got through all of them. It seems like it pretty went well having them going against me from all sides.'

"Long Sheng, you expected so much of me. However, it is true that we are of the same generation. However, my task in the past is to have you do something that's against the principles of your palace. That's why I tried to get closer to you. Only then will I be able to get past the boundary between us," Gu Tian elaborated. "Now, the plan has commenced. All the vessels should have already been activated."

Human Emperor Palace.

Phoenix Empress Palace.

Holy Light Palace.

Four Regions.

Fiend Emperor Palace.

All of the palaces and their respective territories already activated their respective vessels. The Dragon Emperor Palace's Paramountcy Vessel had been activated by Long Sheng himself, going against what their ancestor forbade them to do.

He did not know the implications of doing so and he only did it out of impulse—his son's life was at stake.

"I actually have the cure in my hand right now. However, for what reason should I give this to you?" Gu Tian asked with a grin on his face.

Long Sheng wasn't able to speak. Instead, his body fell involuntarily as though he was kneeling in front of his so-called long-time friend. He did not know what to do. However, when he tried to move and looked at the pale face of his son, he resolved himself and said, "Please give me the cure. I will do anything you want."

He tried to be calm, but the emotions were plastered on his face—vividly. Long Sheng also knew that no matter what he would do, the Paramountcy Vessel he had activated could not be turned off anymore, unless the creator of these vessels himself would make all of them stop.

"Vessels?" Yang Lujia was a bit surprised and looked at Sheng Ao. "Baldy, you mentioned something about these vessels, right? What is it? Realm Amalgamation?"

"Yes, master. It seemed like the two temples are now advancing very fast with their plans. We have to be careful, master. Once the Realm Amalgamation commences, all sorts of void beasts may attack and swarm the realms, like a scourge."
