Chapter 316 Attacking A Human Settlement

'Was this a trap?'

Jang-Do had made sure to tell what he did and hand over the incomprehensible code given to him by Leo, but the disappearance of the shadow-like Dealer for this long made him doubt his situation.

'Well… It's not like Baekho Hyung would have anything to gain by doing this.'

Even when his senses kept telling him that something was wrong, Jang-Do ignored his doubts as he saw no reason for them. If anything, his death or disappearance was bound to dissuade the others from following Leo.

As if to prove his doubts to be nonexistent, the Dealer finally made an appearance as soon as he concluded his thoughts!

"Please give Saja-nim our greetings, the target you are seeking is Dae Kyung Town."

'This was quite the strange request, but we have to accommodate that gentleman at all costs.'

While the Dealer smiled as he gave Jang-Do his answer, he was quite confused deep inside. He didn't personally interact with Saja Dokja, but his name had quite the weight in their insider circle.

As the only person who predicted the otherworldly monsters' invasion into Murim, Saja Dokja was first believed to be a collaborator with the enemy if not the mastermind behind everything. However, every now and then, he would send someone with a different piece of information, revealing a few important monster locations!

Rather than recognizing the person being sent, the one taking this name as his symbol was considered a wild card within their organization. Although he requested to be appropriately paid, his random information helped Shadow Star maintain if not strengthen its stand in such turbulent times.

"Can you give me more details in regards to the target?"

"All I can add is you can look forward to your find, the monsters' scheme will reveal itself to you."

'Don't worry, even I can't understand what this nonsense means.'

"I see, then I will be taking my leave…"

Being confident in their statements was something the Shadow Star's workers were famous for. In reality, the Dealer knew nothing about this Dae Kyung Town, he was only doing as he was requested!

It took some time for him to figure it out, but the message sent by Leo contained a book cipher. Although Leo had to add some details to make it obvious to the Dealer, the numbers and letters meant nothing to Jang-Do. After all, only Leo and Shadow Star had knowledge of the martial arts book that he wrote for them.

"I received a target, Baekho Hyung. They didn't tell me much, but they told me to head to Dae Kyung Town."

Just by using such an intricate trick, Jang-Do's doubts were quickly pushed away. The whole thing seemed like a weird play, but a Peak Stage like Jang-Do could tell that both the bartender and the Dealer's skills were more than real. Even if it was for the little time that they needed to convince him, they didn't seem like people that would be hired just to convince someone like him.

"Right, there was also a hint…"

'That settles it. From now on, we just have to do our best.'

Considering his standing and the chance that he provided, Leo didn't actually need to go through all of this trouble, but he knew he couldn't continue pulling things out of nowhere. Most importantly, the trust of the person who won the hearts of their dear classmates was absolutely necessary.

'We will need every last bit of it for the sake of the plan's success!'

"Thanks for helping me out with this. I would appreciate it if you relay the word that we will be moving out in earnest starting tomorrow."

"No worries, Hyung. Everyone will be ready on time."

'As long this isn't just a fake that is…'

To the last minute, Jang-Do was still skeptical. What he saw was surely enough for him to move, but the actual results remained under question. Although his stay in the Heavenly Strength Society wasn't that long, it wouldn't be the first time Jang-Do witnessed falsified reports for the sake of better achievements.

The almost sixty-strong group had already spent a week on the road to reach this point. Thanks to Leo choosing the town with his destination already in mind, the distance left wasn't too exaggerated, especially since Dae Kyung Town could be considered close to the Flat Plains…

Their large numbers couldn't fit in a carriage or a two and mounts were not an option either, so the march was mostly conducted on foot. It was hard not to grab attention, but at times like this, most people just minded their own business in fear of stumbling upon demon worshipers or the like.

The members themselves weren't too comfortable moving towards an unknown point, but Jang-Do's reassurance worked wonders. In a way, everyone was complaining in a tsundere manner while being excited for the opponent they would face in the end. However…

"Dae Kyung Town… This is it?"

What they came to see after all the anticipation was nothing but extreme disappointment!

"What are we supposed to do here?"

Everyone still had some expectations when they made their way into the town, wondering if this would be their first mission to hunt down demon worshipers who dragged the Society's name through the mud, but on the contrary, all they got to see was the most lovely town that they came upon in a long while!

Under the protection of mountains on both sides, monsters didn't seem to be a problem here either. The town's people were not only helpful to each other, but they also welcomed them as visitors in a very friendly manner. Although it had only been a few hours since they arrived, they were already invited to a feast in the visitors' name…

"Ready?"

All of the sudden, however, Leo left his seat as he gestured to Yeon before moving towards the town resident closest to him, directly taking the White Tiger out and slashing his head off!

"Wh- What are you doing?"

"Hm? Didn't you personally recount that hint to me?"

Only giving a short answer to the startled Jang-Do, Leo didn't sheath his sword as he moved out to his next target…
