Chapter 805: Chapter 805: World Calamity, A Parting Gift

After watching the entire process, Changsun Zhong’s expression was also grim.

"Why does Doctor Zhou have permission to open the gates of the Iron Prison?"

He wanted to know how a psychological expert could travel unimpeded to the Iron Prison and how he could open its gates effortlessly.

This area detains the world’s most dangerous superpowered felons. How could the other party enter?

"Psychological experts assess the mental states of the felons regularly, hence they have the permission," Changsun Shi explained.

He was also at a loss, unable to fathom how the other party influenced Doctor Zhou, much less how he managed to escape.

Song Jing, on the other hand, had an unpleasant look. His injuries were healed by Changsun Zhong through time reversal, yet he still had lingering fears.

"Can you tell me what’s really going on?" Although Song Jing didn’t know Changsun Zhong, he was aware that he had been cured by him, so his question was directed at Changsun Shi.

He was cured, but Xu Lan wasn’t. Xu Lan’s superpower had encountered a problem, and even with Changsun Zhong’s time reversal, recovery was ineffective.

Changsun Zhong couldn’t find the root cause; it wasn’t his field of expertise.

In the future, he had studied Quantum Ability Science, a new discipline that combined superpowers, physics, and other fields.

If you asked him to dabble in medicine or philosophy, he truly had no way.

However, Changsun Zhong did notice something amiss; the opponent’s superpower seemed to have developed an activated structure, which wasn’t a good thing.

"You only need to know that this person is a criminal with extremely powerful superpowers and that he used his bewitching abilities to control Doctor Zhou and free him," Changsun Shi said helplessly.

"Bewitched a doctor out of the Iron Prison?" Song Jing laughed in disbelief, feeling the explanation was too perfunctory.

The Iron Prison seemed like it was cast from metal; however, in reality, it was not. It contained other materials capable of completely isolating the influence of mental superpowers, let alone that the other party worked through surveillance, making it impossible to influence.

"Indeed, that’s how it is; the other party isn’t an ordinary person." Changsun Zhong clarified for his grandfather, which stopped Song Jing from making things difficult, considering his help in treatment.

Changsun Zhong also knew Song Jing. In the previous timeline, he didn’t meet Wang Linchi initially, but his end wasn’t great either; he died in battle.

His remains were later reutilized and made into a Divine Speed Space Capsule to combat an entity.

"What do you mean?" Song Jing didn’t understand. How could a metahuman be ordinary?

"One more thing: who are you? Why haven’t I seen such an SSS-level metahuman as you in the Strategy Bureau?"

At this point, he remembered Changsun Zhong, who seemed to have authority over Changsun Shi, the director, and possessed extraordinary abilities. His healing prowess was simply more powerful than that of the healing-oriented metahumans.

Song Jing didn’t think about time-aligned powers. There were space-oriented powers, but not many with time-oriented powers, and even if they had them, they were exceedingly marginal and couldn’t measure up to the grandeur of the word ’time’.

"My background is quite complex; it’s hard to explain in a few words." As Changsun Zhong spoke, he paused, contemplating whether to reveal his identity.

The current Strategy Bureau, although independent of various countries, was still constrained, especially with many ambitious individuals wanting to dismantle, contain, or destroy the Strategy Bureau.

Should he disclose, it would be easy to influence him; hence, he considered whether Song Jing was trustworthy.

From the outcome, the other party seemed trustworthy, but who knows what the situation would be now.

"To put it simply, I’m from the future, with a time-aligned superpower; I’m here to prevent the future apocalypse."

Finally, he decided to speak directly.

Changsun Shi was visibly surprised, and Song Jing was taken aback, then laughed: "You’re quite the joker."

"Your injury wasn’t healed; it was time-reversed," Changsun Zhong said calmly.

This stopped Song Jing’s laughter abruptly.

"Are you serious?" Astonishment was evident in Song Jing’s demeanor.

"I have no need to deceive you, and I am the grandson of the director, with some acquaintance with Aunt Song Kui. Consider the time; she should have passed the bar exam this year, right?" Changsun Zhong said.

"Wait a moment, let me sort this out," Song Jing was a bit bewildered.

Song Kui was his daughter, and this year’s bar exam was something he hadn’t shared with anyone, although it didn’t rule out the possibility of Changsun Zhong investigating through his position.

"No need to sort it out; what he said is true, though I wish it weren’t, but the fact remains so."

"The person who escaped from the Iron Prison today isn’t any ordinary metahuman, but a thought of some indescribable entity," Changsun Shi sighed.

Since Changsun Zhong had spoken, as a grandfather, he had to support him, even if his grandson was older than his own son, which was indeed absurd.

"You’re making it more confusing for me," Song Jing was unable to accept this at the moment.

"It’s okay, you’ll need to know later; in any case, letting him escape will cause great trouble," Changsun Zhong sighed as well. His last attempt with a Space Slash to sever Wang Linchi’s escape route failed.

Merely touching the Divine Speed Space Capsule’s structure and the Space Walker’s space move logic allowed the opponent to execute a space leap with scant data. Such learning and evolving capability was indeed befitting of an indescribable thought.

However, the opponent most likely wouldn’t take the Soul Master’s route for superpowers, as their superpowers weren’t fixed but would take various forms depending on the environment.

Reversing the future wasn’t their first attempt; it was Changsun Zhong’s first encounter with Wang Linchi, though not humanity’s first from the future.

The Soul Master was merely Wang Linchi in the timeline Changsun Zhong resided in; previously, they had faced numerous Wangs Linchi of various superpowers through various scenarios. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

There was the Bug Race Sovereign, the Dark Spirit User, the Alchemist, and many other variants of Wang Linchi, each causing substantial upheaval.

These were annihilated timelines or parallel worlds still struggling.

As for his original Soul Master timeline, it might well have already been destroyed.

His goal was not merely to reverse the immediate timeline’s world future but also to address this newly diverged timeline’s parallel world.

Even if it couldn’t be reversed, before the final cycle, everyone from this world should merge into the Human Community to avoid extinction.

"Now, we can only issue a warrant. We must..." Changsun Shi considered this his only option.

"No, arrange a digital summit with the monarchs of various nations. I need to have an open and frank discussion with them," Changsun Zhong realized everything was already too late; collective effort was necessary to face the impending disaster.

"This... might cause problems, and they might not believe it," Changsun Shi naturally understood the mindset of politicians. If Changsun Zhong dared to expose himself, those politicians dared to detain this visitor from the future.

"It doesn’t matter; I will make them believe."

"Even if I can’t, the one who left will."

"I don’t mind sacrificing some people as proof." Changsun Zhong was indifferent to the human death toll, for him, it was all necessary, having seen countless deaths.

In his timeline, when integrating into the Multiverse Human Community, the death toll came close to extinction.

A stone heart wasn’t just a metaphor.

After finishing this sentence, Changsun Zhong turned to look at Xu Lan. Just then, he sensed some disturbance from Xu Lan and then suddenly widened his eyes.

"Divinity!!! Impossible!" He detected divinity emanating from Xu Lan, originating from deep within his superpower.

"Why impossible?" A sound like metal clashing came from ’Xu Lan’s’ mouth.

In that instant, Changsun Zhong realized that this person was no longer Xu Lan but the entity known as the Iron War God.

"Ability Activation..."

"Such a big parting gift he left me before leaving," Changsun Zhong’s expression grew grave as he didn’t hesitate to attack.

Ability Activation Disasters didn’t exist in his timeline but in others, known as the Investiture of the Gods disaster, with the opponent’s superpower being the Heavenly Edict, capable of influencing through thoughts, spirit, soul, and more, causing the root of superpowers to gain divinity, finally activating into a deity.
