Chapter 186: Chapter 183: Dragon Vein
"My dear brother, could you please give a heads-up before you unleash your power like that? A fragile guy like me can’t take this kind of abuse!"
Qian Duoduo wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, still shaken from the experience.
The next moment, the powerful aura around Mo Qi completely dissipated. He opened his eyes and sighed with regret.
"So close."
The Sword Skill Domain had failed to transform into a Mental Realm. Just when he was on the verge of a breakthrough, his Domain Power suddenly drained away, as if it had been forcefully scattered.
Mo Qi knew it was because his foundation wasn’t deep enough yet.
Or perhaps, because his body was in a weakened state, it couldn’t yet withstand the might of a Mental Realm.
"Kid, are you trying to defy the heavens?!" Wu the Old Ghost exclaimed after a long, stunned silence.
Possessing a Domain while only in the Qi Cultivation Realm was already an unheard-of feat, yet he was actually trying to comprehend a Mental Realm!
You have to understand, only those who reached Vajra Realm Cultivation even had a chance of comprehending a Mental Realm.
This was an ancient, unchanging rule of the Martial Dao, passed down through the ages!
But just now, that very rule had almost been broken by Mo Qi.
Looking at the disheveled group, Mo Qi said apologetically, "My apologies. I was careless."
The group exchanged glances. ’What could they do? Of course, they had no choice but to forgive him.’
At that moment, Mo Qi’s Dark Horse-level Token began to react, emitting a dazzling light.
Everyone immediately went on high alert, looking over nervously. ’He’s not about to cause more trouble, is he?’
Mo Qi took out the Token, completely bewildered.
’I haven’t been attacked. Why is it reacting?’
Wu the Old Ghost said, "It’s probably because we’re almost there. But speaking of which, why is your Token able to stir the power of the Dragon Vein?"
Mo Qi shook his head. "I don’t know either. Maybe it’s a special privilege of the Dark Horse Level."
"Impossible!" Qian Duoduo and the others immediately shot him down.
"No Token, regardless of its level, has the privilege of stirring the Dragon Vein. It’s completely unheard of. Zhu Fan, do you know what’s going on?"
Zhu Fan shook his head and gave a wry smile. "Although I’m from the Zhu Family, I don’t know everything, especially when it comes to secrets involving the Imperial Academy and the Royal Family."
"Alright, never mind that for now. Everyone, prepare yourselves. The pressure from the Dragon Vein is no joke!" Wu the Old Ghost warned.
BOOM!
The rock before them shattered, and light flooded their vision as a pleasant warmth washed over their faces.
It was an aura more dazzling and fervent than sunlight, and it couldn’t help but lift everyone’s spirits.
However, they had no time to celebrate. The warmth grew, the temperature soared, and soon it became a searing wave of heat that stung their faces.
This was only the beginning!
ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!
A deafening dragon’s roar echoed through the air. Everyone, including Mo Qi, turned pale. Only Wu the Old Ghost remained unaffected.
It was a shock that struck them deep in their souls, destabilizing their minds and threatening to shatter them.
’Such powerful Dragon Energy!’
’How dense must the Dragon Energy be to cause such an effect? And according to Wu the Old Ghost, this is only the very edge of the Dragon Vein.’
’The Dragon Vein Imperial Bell is located in the very center of the Dragon Vein. To ring it, they would have to cross the entire thing!’
Just as Wu the Old Ghost was about to help them bear the pressure, Mo Qi’s Token released a gentle power that enveloped the entire group.
A weight lifted from their bodies, and they gasped for breath, finally able to see their surroundings clearly.
They were in an impossibly vast underground space, so large they couldn’t see its end.
The air was filled with a faint golden Dragon Energy, flowing slowly all around them.
This was the source of the blinding light.
Looking into the distance, the undulating terrain faintly resembled the shape of a coiled Divine Dragon.
"See that over there?" Wu the Old Ghost pointed in a certain direction. "That’s the Dragon Vein Core, and it’s also where the Imperial Bell is located."
Mo Qi looked over and could faintly make out a massive mountain peak far in the distance. Bathed in the Dragon Energy, it looked just like a dragon raising its head.
"I can only help you this far. If I go any further, the seal on my body will activate and suppress me here."
"Brother Wu, you’ve already done more than enough for us. Leave the rest to me," Mo Qi said with a smile.
"Brother Hui, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me!"
Nangong Yan’s panicked voice rang out. Mo Qi turned to look.
He saw that Liu Hui had already undergone his Dragon Transformation. His eyes were filled with a golden light as he stared intently toward the Dragon Vein Core, roaring uncontrollably.
Then, he took a step, about to walk out of the Token’s protective field and head toward the Dragon Vein Core. No matter how much Nangong Yan shouted or pulled at him, it was no use; it was as if he had lost his mind.
"This is bad. The Dragon Energy here is too rich! His mastery of the Dragon Transformation Divine Technique isn’t proficient enough to resist the corruption from the external Dragon Energy. He’s going to be lost in it!"
"San Pang, stop him!" Mo Qi barked.
"Got it!"
Jin Sanpang nodded, clamping a large, sturdy hand on Liu Hui’s shoulder to pull him back.
"ROAR!"
Liu Hui let out a furious roar, actually flinging Jin Sanpang’s hand away.
He opened his mouth and began to fiercely inhale the surrounding Dragon Energy.
As the Dragon Energy entered his body, Liu Hui’s physique began to change as well.
His height shot up from ten feet to over one hundred feet. His cheeks elongated, and fangs sprouted from his mouth.
The small, flesh-colored horns on his forehead darkened, growing thicker and longer.
A tail sprouted from his backside, and his entire form began to look more and more like a dragon.
Jin Sanpang took out his giant hammer to try and stop him, but Liu Hui sent him flying with a single kick. He crashed into the ground and couldn’t get back up.
In his frenzied state, Liu Hui’s strength had increased enormously; even Jin Sanpang was no match for him.
Seeing this, Nangong Yan recklessly tried to rush forward to wake Liu Hui, but Qian Duoduo and the others held her back tightly.
The current Liu Hui had lost his mind and would recognize no one. Rushing up to him now would be suicide.
Even Wu the Old Ghost was startled by this scene.
’Is that a fucking member of the Dragon Race?!’
’What kind of monsters does Mo Qi keep around?!’
With no time to think further, he quickly shouted a reminder, "Little Brother Mo, I can’t intervene here! You’re on your own!"
After knocking back Jin Sanpang, Liu Hui didn’t press the attack. Instead, he turned and continued walking toward the Dragon Vein Core.
"Mo the kid, quickly, put that ball of Earth Dragon Bloodline Essence into his body!" the Pig Emperor shouted, wriggling out of Mo Qi’s robes and leaping into the air.
Without hesitation, Mo Qi leaped up and slammed his palm into Liu Hui’s Dantian, driving the Silver-backed Earth Dragon’s Bloodline Essence inside.
Anger flashed in Liu Hui’s eyes as he felt the attack, and he raised his foot to stomp on Mo Qi.
Mo Qi rolled aside, dodging Liu Hui’s stomp.
Just as Liu Hui was about to give chase, the Pig Emperor waved its hooves, manipulating the surrounding Dragon Energy. Then its eyes widened and it snapped, "Disperse!"
Instantly, for miles around, all the Dragon Energy scattered and fled like mice seeing a cat.
Deprived of the Dragon Energy’s support, Liu Hui’s movements came to an abrupt halt. His enormous body rapidly shrank back to its original size, and he passed out.
"Brother Hui!"
Nangong Yan rushed forward, cradling him in her arms and checking his condition.
"Liu Hui will be all right, won’t he?" Mo Qi asked, looking at the Pig Emperor.
He wasn’t too surprised by the abilities the Pig Emperor had just displayed.
After all, the Pig Emperor was a "Longevity Dragon Pig." Just from the name, one could tell it was inextricably linked with the Dragon Race, so it stood to reason that it could disperse Dragon Energy.
