Chapter 291: Ariel’s Examination
"There are thirty-three applicants in total, of which I ruled out fifteen to be really good and amidst the fifteen three are the best"
"Oh, thank you, it’s a good thing I recruited you. You could become the pope of the Ariel Temple"
"I’ve had a prior agreement with the Emperor, I can’t be a pope and be an elite Knight at the same time"
"Well you are right... too bad..." Ariel said as she placed her legs on the table and began to eat the snacks in front of her. She had forgotten herself. "Well let’s see as the examination goes" she said.
Kain bowed and walked out, looking at the applicants paper in his hands. "Why is a strong fellow like this guy applying to be a priest" he muttered to himself as he walked along the hallway, the fresh breeze of the garden on the opposite blew past him, his imperial suit fluttered but with the thick silk it withstood the wind.

"Isn’t this too much though, I mean this far because of examination" Rita said to Patricia as they both rode on a white camel walking beside each other.
"But that guy seems really strong" Patricia said, looking at the blonde haired guy on a white wild horse.
"Not just him, there are a lot of strong people around, we might not have a chance at this at all" Rita replied her.
"Let’s be positive."
[Congratulations]

Patricia and Rita came down. The man they were talking about earlier approached them and bowed as he greeted them.
"My name is Jae-hyun..."
"Oh, I’m Patricia"
"I’m Rita"
’A Korean uh...’ Patricia said in her head.
"So...why is a man like you taking the apostleship test?" Rita asked.
Patricia immediately rebuked her with her facial expression. Jae-hyun smiled.
"Compared to other players, I’ve been sort of inactive. You see when we were on earth, I had a condition where my spinal nerves were damaged, so I could not move or respond to some certain stimuli, after we were brought to this world, my condition did not change but the possibility of me getting better rose..." his gaze began to tighten.
"You don’t really have to tell us if it makes.you uncomfortable" Patricia said.
"It’s okay, telling people is a way of reminding myself of my debts" he said, "...my sister worked really hard to heal me...but the gods took her from me...when Ariel’s blessing came through, I saw it as a chance to get away from them and maybe even pay them back but for that to be possible I needed to be more than a player..."
’Wow, such strong resolve...’ Patricia thought.
"What about you two? Why are you taking part?"
"Oh we? —
"We love Ariel" Rita cut in.
"Yes, we really love her" Patricia said with belated smile.
"So we want to be close to her" Rita added.
"Wow, have you guys met her before...I’ve never met her?" He asked with sparkling eyes.
[All participants have arrived]
[Examination will be starting in ten seconds]
"Oh, looks like the examination is starting...see you" They said and walked away.
"An examination in a desert like this, I wonder what it is we will be doing" An old man walked towards him saying.
He bowed and greeted the old man.
"This is the first time I’m seeing such an old person active" he said.
"Oh, you seem like a different one, others looked at be with eyes that said they were looking down on me but you seem to be different" The old man said with his eyes closed.
"I don’t look down on people, I know what it feels to be looked down on"
[The Examination is starting]
A blue light ran through the whole surrounding and immediately began to leave cities and people everywhere it touched. In a matter of seconds seconds desert had turned to a city buzzing with people.
[This is a Stimulated City of Aiden]
[The city of Aiden is plagued by dangerous monsters]
[The plague will go on for seven hours]
[Save as much residents as you can save]
[You will be revived at the nearest Ariel’s altar if you are killed]
[There will be penalty for being killed]
Everyone was shocked and surprised.
"Are you kidding me? Resurrection as in a game?!!"
Monsters began to pop out of air in between the village and began to destroy everywhere.
The old man smiled, "Looks like it’s time to go" he said as he lifted his staff up and unsheathed the sword in it.
"Fire sword"
~Whoooosh~
Fire engulfed his sword, he straightened his back and ran off with speed thay blew the wind into Jae-hyun’s face. He smiled and shook his head.
"Lightening step"
~WOOSH~
Sparks of lightening discharged from his feet as he flew into the air with blinding speed. As landed in between a horde of monsters he yelled –
"Aftershock!"

As he landed in between the monsters electrical energy bursted forth from his body, striking through all the monsters and blasting them away. He hugged the young child he found amidst the monsters and flew off, as he flew off the child disappeared into thin air.

He was caught off guard but he now understood better. He drew out his sword and placed his index and middle finger on it.
"Activate class unique ability; Conduit"

The environment shook as he was engulfed by by a clothe of blue and sparkling electrical energy. He equipped his sword from his inventory and held the rubber handle tightly.
’My class is a little but tricky, I have innate lightning ability coursing through my body as mana, I can’t cast or learn magical spells that are not lightening related, it’s cool because this class is the best, the only downside is even I can be a target of my powers if I come in direct contact with a conductive material. Its a weakness I’d like to get rid of, but let’s not get too greedy’
As he swept past the monsters stabbing through and simultaneously shooting the ones afar off with lightning.
"Oh oh, going full power once and for all...is je confident or is he just clueless" A dark skinned player said as he watched Jae-hyun deals huge wide range damage to the monsters and save alot of residents.
"Well let’s not laze around either. Myrmidon blade Dance: Air lash" he began to sweep his feet in a rhythmic movement, striking and slashing the air.

As though he was sending the winds an errand, each strikes fell on the monsters who were beyond five meters around him. As the monsters were thrown aback my the force of each strike, he swept past them as though he was riding the winds and saved each resident.

"Charm" Patricia ran as she activated her skill. Immediately all the monsters attention turned to her, they immediately ignored whatever they were doing and ran after her. She was cornered and had no where to go however monsters gathered in front of her.
[Monsters have been charmed]

"Activate it!"
[Unique skill COMMAND activated]

"Kill each other!"
[Command executed]
The monsters suddenly turned to each other and began to fight each other.

"Whew, very annoying, thank God my unique skill doesn’t have a cool down time and only has Criteria to be met, but since Charm itself has a cool down time of one minute, I can somehow say my unique skill has a cool down time of one minute...I wonder how Rita is doing" She said looking high into the bright sky. Someone flew past her gaze and leapt off.
"Her pink hair is unique. Do folks dye their hair even in a fantasy world like this one, well again... this is more like a real world now...I mean people are already doing everything we used to do on earth" she said.
Jeanne who jad activated a detection skill was on a hunting spree.
She swept past a large humanoid monster with really long arms, it’s head fell on the floor.

"What the hell... this girl is not even in the top ten, what he’ll is she doing, I’m getting mad...I can’t be the only one who gets a priest position" Rita said as she cleaned sweat off her forehead. But then, who is the Coghlan guy, 49...I quite much. Looks like the Korean dude is not bad either."
Her eyes suddenly widened as the Ranking list changed.
