Chapter 83: Chapter 83: The Nation Has a Forbidden Dish
"What?" Rascal shrieked, yanking hard on the boy’s hair.
"AH, IT HURTS, IT HURTS!" the boy howled in pain.
Seeing this, Rascal let go with one small hand and slapped the boy. "Shut up! You’re so loud!" he growled.
The boy had no idea what it was saying and just kept crying. "Help me! Why isn’t anyone coming to help me!"
The principal walked up to Henry Stark, frowning deeply. "Officer, I’m the school principal. Director Lowell said on the phone that he was sending an animal consultant. Hasn’t she arrived yet?"
Henry heard him and replied calmly, "She’s already here."
The principal looked around frantically. "Where is the consultant, then? Tell her to hurry up and save our student!"
Henry Stark gazed at Renee Jennings’s back and lifted his chin slightly. "She’s already communicating with the macaque."
The principal followed his gaze, his small eyes behind his glasses flashing with disbelief. "You... you mean this girl?"
"Yes," Henry nodded.
The principal adjusted his glasses, studying Renee Jennings more closely, his frown deepening. "This girl looks like she’s barely older than our high school students. She’s the animal consultant?"
Hearing this, Sawyer handed him his phone. "This is a video of the consultant saving a baby from a macaque. You can take a look, Principal."
In the short time it took the principal to watch the video, a sudden cheer erupted from the cafeteria.
He handed the phone back to Sawyer and looked up to see that the student held by the monkey was now free.
His gaze shifted, and he saw the two macaques perched on Renee Jennings’s shoulders, one on each side.
Rascal asked into her right ear, "Can you really help us find Yumi?"
Fable asked into her left ear, "Do you humans go back on your word?"
Renee Jennings tensed up at the close contact with the two macaques. Her crimson lips moved as she whispered, "I can’t speak for other humans, but I keep my word."
She paused before continuing, "The human police will definitely catch the person who took Yumi. After all, what they did was atrocious and against the law. But..."
Rascal stared at her intently. "But what?"
Renee Jennings pressed her lips together, her tone growing heavy. "We can’t be sure if Yumi is... still alive and safe."
Hearing this, sad expressions washed over Rascal and Fable’s furry little faces, and their hazel eyes misted over.
"No matter what, we have to find them!" Rascal gritted his teeth, his voice choked with emotion. "It would be best if Yumi is alive and well. But if Yumi... I swear I’ll get revenge for her!"
Fable nodded forcefully. "That’s right! Revenge!"
Renee Jennings raised a hand and stroked their furry heads. "Yes. We have to catch them."
Watching this scene, the principal chuckled. "Truly, our country is producing heroes in this generation."

Renee Jennings and the others made another trip to Wylern Peak to take Rascal and Fable back.
As they were leaving, Rascal shouted after them, "You have to find Yumi!"
The matter weighed on Renee Jennings’s heart like a heavy stone.
’The baby macaque, Yumi, was stolen the day before yesterday. Is she still alive?’
Henry Stark saw her worried expression in the rearview mirror. His dark brows knitted together, and his own mood grew heavy.
Sensing the heavy atmosphere in the car, Sawyer tightened his grip on the steering wheel and quickly tried to change the subject. "I wonder why those people would steal a baby macaque. It’s so strange."
"There’s a forbidden dish in our country: monkey brains," Henry Stark said, his voice chilling.
"Monkey brains?" Renee Jennings furrowed her brow and took out her phone to search for it online.
When she read about how the dish was prepared, her face darkened, and her voice filled with anger. "That way of eating it is too cruel!"
Sawyer was driving and saw how angry Renee Jennings was. "So, how is it made?" he asked, puzzled.
Renee Jennings said sullenly, "They first shave the little monkey’s fur, then pour boiling water directly on its head..."
After hearing that, Sawyer couldn’t help but shudder. "My God! That’s horrible! The poor monkey must be in so much pain!"
"That’s why it became a forbidden dish in our country," Henry Stark said, his tone icy. "But there are still some ignorant people who are obsessed with eating exotic game just to be different."
Sawyer gripped the steering wheel tightly, fuming. "We have to catch all of them! What they’re doing doesn’t just destroy the ecosystem, it can also spread diseases!"
"Yes. And they’ll be punished severely," Henry Stark said, his eyes narrowing, his handsome face looking as if it were coated in frost.
"Call me anytime if you need help," Renee Jennings said earnestly.
Henry Stark’s eyes met her bright, star-like gaze in the rearview mirror. For some reason, his heart skipped a beat, and it felt as if a small beast was thrashing wildly inside his chest.

「Two days later.」
The Zenvia Police Department issued a public notice.
A woman, Zhong, conspired with her boyfriend, Lei, to accept twenty thousand yuan from a man, Fang. They then got her good friend, Lily (an alias), drunk, allowing Fang to attempt to rape her...
...
The notice was released and instantly triggered a heated discussion online.
[Damn, that heartless best friend should rot in jail!]
[She sold out her friend for just twenty thousand yuan???]
[Wait, why does this plot seem so familiar? I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before...]
[Holy crap, isn’t this the plot from Renee Jennings’s livestream the other night? She said it wasn’t scripted, but no one believed her. So it was actually real???]
[Oh my god! That girl, Peach, was so lucky... If she hadn’t connected to Renee Jennings’s stream by chance, the consequences would have been unimaginable!]
[Ahhh, when is Renee Jennings streaming next?]
[Are you guys serious? If this is real, can someone tell me Renee Jennings’s account name?]
The person in question, Renee Jennings, was unaware of all this. She was at Michelle Fuller’s house for afternoon tea.
Ginny grinned the moment she saw her.
Renee Jennings reached out and petted Ginny’s head, wrestling with a dilemma.
The dog still didn’t know that its former owner had passed away.
She picked up her phone, typed out a message, and showed the screen to Michelle Fuller.
"Should we tell Ginny that her former owner passed away?"
Michelle Fuller took the phone and typed a few words in reply: "How about we tell her that her former owner went abroad and isn’t coming back?"
Renee Jennings shook her head, disagreeing.
She sighed. "Let’s just tell her the truth. There needs to be trust between people and animals, too."
Michelle Fuller thought that made sense.
She nodded. "Okay, we’ll do it your way."
Ginny came back to them, carrying a frisbee in her mouth.
"Ginny, we want to tell you something," Renee Jennings said, taking the frisbee and looking at her seriously. "It’s about your previous master."
At these words, Ginny’s dark brown eyes lit up, and she asked expectantly, "Renee, is my master back?"
Seeing her reaction, Renee Jennings suddenly didn’t have the heart to continue.
She pressed her lips together and said gently, "He... passed away."
