Chapter 219: Chapter 219: The Truth
"Wait a moment," Lu Xia said to Lan Ya and her companion after she came out. "Take this Liquid Formulation home and drink it. It will help you stabilize as quickly as possible."
Handing a bottle of Spiritual Spring Water to the young male, Lu Xia said to Lan Ya, "Once you’re back, feel free to contact us here if anything comes up."
Lan Ya, already mentally exhausted and disheartened by what Lu Xia had said, nodded. "Understood. Thank you for today. I’ll contact you in advance next time I visit."
"Alright. Please see them out," Lu Xia said to a nearby staff member.
Lan Ya waved her hand dismissively. "There’s no need to trouble yourselves."
With that, she took the lead and walked toward the door. The young male, trailing a bit behind her, suddenly turned to Lu Xia and said, "Thank you."
Lu Xia gave him a smile but said nothing. After they had left, Lu Xia turned and returned to her office, where she saw Simon flipping through a journal she had casually left on her desk. "We can go home now," she said.
Simon had already put down the journal when she entered. He stood up and asked, "All finished?"
"Yes, it was nothing important. Let’s go."
Simon’s lips curled into a slight smile. He looked at the young female, her expression completely unfazed, and couldn’t help but think, ’She’s probably the only one who would consider turning a "defective" male into a Gene Fusion Expert a trivial matter.’
Upon returning from the No.2 Institute, they saw the old butler overseeing the household staff as they sorted through an assortment of freshly purchased ingredients.
The thought of Graces coming home tomorrow evening put Lu Xia in a wonderful mood.
Little Pu Tao, who had been playing in the bushes outside, saw Lu Xia and Simon return together. He immediately ran over and threw his arms around Lu Xia. "Mother, did you and Male Father Simon go out to play?"
Lu Xia caught Little Pu Tao as he leaped at her, patting his head. "We didn’t go out to play, we went to work. What were you doing, Little Pu Tao?"
"Weeding! The gardener does it every day, doesn’t he? It’s hard work, so I wanted to help him."
Little Pu Tao said in his sweet, childish voice, even waving the "weeds" clutched in his hand at Lu Xia. Lu Xia could tell at a glance that at his age, Little Pu Tao couldn’t yet distinguish between weeds and blades of grass from the lawn.
But his kind heart was worthy of praise. "That’s wonderful. Do you want to play some more? If not, why don’t you go wash your hands and have a snack?"
Little Pu Tao nodded. "Okay!"
He then let go of Lu Xia, turned his head to look at his Breeding Master, and gestured for the caregiver to take him to wash his hands.
He looked just like a little grown-up.
Lu Xia went to her room to change before coming back downstairs.
The old butler had already brought out freshly baked cupcakes, and Little Pu Tao was sitting on the sofa with a small plate, eating earnestly one bite at a time.
The Breeding Master had not only taken him to wash his hands but had also changed him into a clean outfit.
Now, sitting on the sofa in his little overalls and leather shoes, Little Pu Tao looked just like a precious young lord—which, in fact, he was.
Across the entire Empire, no matter a family’s status, no one doted on a male child the way Lu Xia did.
And there wasn’t another male child who was as close to his mother, the female head of the household, as Little Pu Tao was with Lu Xia.
Simon took all of this in, and it was impossible for him not to be moved.
Hearing a sound, Little Pu Tao looked over his shoulder and noticed Simon standing not far behind him. His eyes crinkling in a smile, Little Pu Tao waved. "Male Father Simon, the cake is delicious! You should have some too. But don’t eat too much, or you’ll get cavities!"
Little Pu Tao reminded him thoughtfully.
Simon smiled and sat beside him, careful not to disturb him while he ate.
Little Pu Tao was very well-mannered. He ate neatly and never wasted food.
Although Little Pu Tao was still young, Simon had met Graces and could see faint traces of him in the boy.
A short while later, Lu Xia came downstairs. Noticing Simon sitting with Little Pu Tao, she walked over with a smile. "What are you two talking about?"
Little Pu Tao looked up at Lu Xia. "Male Father Simon is keeping me company while I eat cake. Mother, the cake is delicious, but I won’t eat too much."
"Good." Lu Xia smiled and sat down nearby, picking up a cup of black tea and taking a sip. "Has Little Xiangxiang not been down at all today?"
The Breeding Master nearby replied, "Little Xiangxiang was down a little while ago. She played with Little Pu Tao for a bit, then went back up when she got tired."
Little Xiangxiang was still very young and had limited energy.
Little Pu Tao heard this and nodded. "Sister Xiangxiang went up after drinking her milk."
Hearing her son’s reply, Lu Xia chuckled. "Does Little Pu Tao want some milk?"
"Not now. I’ll have some tonight." Little Pu Tao gave Lu Xia a sweet smile, placed his empty little plate on the table, and said, "Mother, I’m going to go play for a little while."
"Alright, go on."
Little Pu Tao was a young male, after all, and full of energy.
Lu Xia didn’t expect him to suppress his nature and be a quiet, docile child. In her eyes, Little Pu Tao was already more than obedient and sensible enough.
Besides, children were supposed to act like children.
After watching Little Pu Tao run out happily, Simon couldn’t help but comment, "He’s very well-raised."
Lu Xia glanced back at him and smiled. "He is."
As his mother, that was something she couldn’t deny.
Simon watched Lu Xia, his eyes full of mirth. He was well aware that being a child of Duke Lu Xia was a wonderful blessing. Of course, being one of her husbands was just as fortunate.

Following the news previously released by the Alliance Army, the people of the Empire were all waiting in eager anticipation. And the Alliance Army, true to its word, began the live broadcast right on schedule.
As the enormous silver Starship slid into view and its hatch opened, everyone watching on their screens subconsciously held their breath. They knew that the first person to emerge from that doorway would be the future Executive Officer, the one who would control the political landscape of the Federation.
Soon, Graces emerged, dressed in a crisp Federation uniform. Behind him were Admiral Snop and his adjutant, Kading.
——
[OMG, he’s so young!]
[The one walking a little behind him is Admiral Snop, right?]
[I know that Executive Officer! How can it be him? Oh my god!]
[The poster above knows him? Seriously? You’re not just trying to get attention, are you? If you know him, then hurry up and give us the details!]
[Since he’s out in the open now, it should be okay to talk about it. He used to be in the First Military District, one of Admiral Snop’s subordinates, Major General Graces. But that’s not the most important part. The important part is that he was one of Duke Lu Xia’s husbands, and by now he’s probably her main husband. That should make everything clear for you all!]
[No wonder Duke Lu Xia provided the gene fusion agent to the Alliance Army. Turns out they’re family!]
[So it all makes sense now!]
[After reading that explanation, I don’t know why, but I suddenly feel so relieved. Judging by Duke Lu Xia’s character, her main husband can’t be a bad person. We’re saved!]
