Chapter 419: Chapter 418 Unreasonable Trouble
Ye Fan said to Scarlett, "Alright, let’s drop it. Since you already know everything, why bother asking?"
"What, are you afraid to face it now?" Scarlett sneered, her eyes filled with contempt.
"Let’s keep things separate," Ye Fan replied. "I only came here for Global International. You’re not short on money, so stop making things difficult for them!"
"Who told you I’m not short on money?" Scarlett shot back.
"Alright, alright, calm down," Ye Fan said, feeling utterly helpless. He had plenty of money, after all; he could give Scarlett whatever she asked. "How much do you want? I’ll give it to you. Isn’t that enough?"
"One hundred billion euros," Scarlett stated flatly.
Ye Fan stumbled and fell to the ground. One hundred billion euros! She really has some nerve. Although I don’t care much for money and possess a fortune beyond counting, one hundred billion euros is no small sum. I can’t produce it on such short notice!
So, he asked, "What do you need so much money for?"
"What I need it for is none of your business," Scarlett retorted, refusing to elaborate.
Then, she said, "I might have considered giving up the fifty percent stake in Global International, but you disgust me. You’re mixed up with the Vampire Clan. What right do you have to bargain with me?"
"What does this have to do with the Vampire Clan?" Ye Fan demanded.
"Hmph! You know perfectly well what it has to do with them," Scarlett snapped, refusing to discuss it further. "Helping the Vampire Clan is the same as hurting me!"
Ye Fan switched tactics. "Fine, I was wrong, alright? If I’m not mistaken, you’re a member of the European Church Court, aren’t you?"
"How did you know?" Scarlett looked at Ye Fan, completely shocked.
Ye Fan explained, "The only people who hate the Vampire Clan that much, aside from the now-exterminated Werewolf Tribe, would be the European Church Court. And since you’re so beautiful, you’re clearly not one of those fur-covered werewolves. That means you can only be from the European Church Court. What’s more, you know my every move, which proves you hold a high rank within the organization!"
Faced with Ye Fan’s analysis, Scarlett was left speechless.
"You’re as sharp as ever. Maybe that’s one of the reasons I admire you," she finally said, her tone shifting. "But now that you know I’m from the European Church Court, do you still dare to help the Vampire Clan? Aren’t you afraid we’ll annihilate you?"
Ye Fan laughed. "The European Church Court may be one of the world’s greatest powers, but I doubt they have what it takes to annihilate me!"
"You think too highly of yourself," Scarlett said with disdain.
Ye Fan simply shook his head with a smile, choosing not to say more.
Just then, Scarlett spoke again. "Actually, there is another way to make me give up on Global International."
"What is it?" Ye Fan asked.
"Defeat me," she said simply.
Ye Fan hadn’t expected such a proposal. Defeat her? That sounds far too simple. He laughed. "If I’m not mistaken, you’ve hidden your true strength. But even so, you’re only at the Emperor Level. You’re no match for me. Besides, fighting would just create bad blood between us. Let’s just forget about it."
"You’re welcome to try," Scarlett replied, her lips curving into a confident smile. She exuded a calm self-assurance that Ye Fan couldn’t quite understand. How can a mere Emperor Level practitioner be this confident?
So he said, "Fine, let’s give it a try. Right here?"
"Yes, right here," Scarlett replied calmly.
"Alright, then don’t blame me for what happens next," Ye Fan said, charging at her instantly.
He unleashed his Supreme Power, but considering Scarlett was no match for him, he held back, reducing his strength and speed to their lowest levels. However, just as he closed in, a brilliant white light suddenly erupted from behind her. It was the Holy Light, the unique power of the Holy Court.
The moment the Holy Light washed over him, Ye Fan was stunned. Not only did his body slow, but even his thoughts crawled. What a terrifyingly insidious technique! So this is the power of the European Church Court? Where there is light, there is Holy Light... that’s their fundamental principle. The European Church Court truly has profound depths! This is my first time clashing with the European Church Court, and my opponent is my own woman, of all people.
Scarlett walked teasingly toward Ye Fan. "You’ve lost," she said. "As long as this Holy Light persists, you can never escape my prison."
"We’ll see about that," Ye Fan replied. He immediately unleashed his own power. A single drop of blood fell from his fingertip to the floor. In that instant, the entire space, glowing with white light, transformed.
"Break!" he roared.
With his shout, the Holy Light shattered. As it dissipated, Ye Fan caught Scarlett’s chin and smiled. "I win. Even your Holy Light is useless against me."
"You..." Scarlett had to admit defeat. Still, she couldn’t accept it. How could she, someone born with the power of the Holy Light, actually lose?
Her attitude, however, was as fickle as ever. In the blink of an eye, she was nestled in Ye Fan’s arms, murmuring, "You brute. To think you’d get so rough with me."
"Oh? I barely touched you," Ye Fan laughed.
Scarlett purred, "You haven’t done anything to me yet. That doesn’t mean you won’t."
"Well, that depends on your technique," Ye Fan replied with a playful smirk.
"I promise to leave you satisfied," she whispered.
Scarlett immediately pressed her lips to his. At that moment, an intense battle of a different kind erupted in the room. Under Ye Fan’s powerful assault, Scarlett’s nails dug deep gouges into the desk. When a woman truly loses herself in passion, she is often unaware of her own actions.
When it was all over, Ye Fan said to her, "Let Global International go. I owe them a huge favor."
"And if I let them go, does that mean you don’t owe me a favor?" Scarlett countered.
"Of course I’ll owe you," Ye Fan said. "I’ll pay you back slowly over time." After all, dodging debts is nothing new for me. What’s one more? If worst comes to worst, I can just walk away without losing a thing.
"I want you to repay me now," Scarlett insisted.
"You don’t mean with my body, do you? If so, I’m all yours," Ye Fan said, striking a pose.
"Dream on," she retorted. "I want you to agree to one condition."
"What condition?" Ye Fan asked.
"It’s simple," Scarlett explained. "You must join the European Church Court and sever all ties with the Vampire Clan."
The moment she spoke, Ye Fan knew he couldn’t agree. The condition was utterly ridiculous. "Change it," he said flatly. "You know I don’t join any factions. I will absolutely not agree to this." He made his stance unequivocally clear.
"Fine," Scarlett conceded. "Then I want you to promise you’ll stop helping the Vampire Clan. This is for your own good. The Vampire Clan is doomed to be destroyed. When they are, disaster will find you. If you cut ties with them now, the European Church Court won’t give you any trouble."
"Alright, I agree," Ye Fan agreed without hesitation. It’s not that I fear the European Church Court. Besides, making a promise to Scarlett isn’t the same as accepting demands from the entire European Church Court. If they insist on making trouble for me, it will no longer be a matter of me helping the vampires. Instead, the Vampire Clan will become a powerful ally in my fight against the Court.
