Chapter 378: Chapter 377: Terrifying Heritage

Ye Fan sucked in a sharp breath. Prince Bao Feng was the strongest of the Vampire Clan’s Blood Princes, his power second only to that of the few Blood Ancestors. Within the Vampire Clan, the Blood Ancestors ranked above the Blood Princes. A Blood Prince already possessed the strength of the Supreme Realm, so the power of a Blood Ancestor went without saying—they were true world-class magnates. The clan’s dominance over Europe’s underworld relied on these very Blood Ancestors; this was their terrifying foundation. And Prince Bao Feng, as the strongest Blood Prince, was widely acknowledged as one destined to ascend to the rank of Blood Ancestor.

Facing such an opponent, Ye Fan felt the pressure, but his expression remained calm. He asked Prince Bao Feng, "Where are my women?"

"First, show me what you brought!" Prince Bao Feng demanded.

Ye Fan immediately took out his piece of the Bengyu. A fervent glint appeared in Prince Bao Feng’s eyes.

He said, "The Bengyu is much larger than this. Why do you only have such a small piece?"

Prince Bao Feng was so fixated on the Bengyu because he was originally supposed to be the one to seize it. However, the Ancestor Lord had sent the Evil Wing Prince instead, causing him to miss the opportunity. He had assumed the Evil Wing Prince would easily acquire the Bengyu, never imagining that the prince would instead perish in the Divine Land.

Ye Fan spoke up, "So many people were fighting over the Bengyu that day. Isn’t it normal that I only managed to get a small piece? This is all I have—take it or leave it!"

Prince Bao Feng sneered. "Fine. Hand over the Bengyu."

"Let me see my women first!" Ye Fan stated coldly.

But Prince Bao Feng simply replied, "If you hesitate any longer, you will never see your women again."

The leverage was entirely in his hands, leaving Ye Fan with no other choice. He tossed the Bengyu over. Prince Bao Feng caught it, scrutinizing the object. He had to admit, its temptation was immense.

Alas, he could not keep it for himself. He had to pass it up to a Blood Ancestor, who would in turn present it to the Ancestor Lord. This was the way of the Vampire Clan, with its strict and unbreachable hierarchy. If he dared to covet it for himself, he would be executed by the Blood Ancestors, no matter how illustrious his military achievements as a Blood Prince had been.

At that, Ye Fan asked again, "Where are my women?"

"They have already been taken away by the Blood Ancestors. Now, allow me to end you!"

Ye Fan’s expression turned frigid. He retorted, "That’s a foolish thing to do!"

"Foolish? This is vampire territory, not a place for you to run wild," Prince Bao Feng chided.

Rage surged within Ye Fan, and he drew the Yuanhong Sword. It was clear the two were about to engage in a fated duel. Prince Bao Feng also drew his personal Spiritual Artifact, the Baofeng Blood Blade.

"Kill!" Ye Fan charged forward.

They clashed once, and the impact sent them both reeling backward. Prince Bao Feng laughed with cruel amusement. "No wonder you were able to kill the Evil Wing Prince. It seems you have some skill after all." He sneered, "But you made a mistake choosing me as your opponent. I’m nothing like that piece of trash, the Evil Wing Prince!"

He swiftly brandished the Knight Blade and lunged at Ye Fan. His strength was indeed considerably greater than the Evil Wing Prince’s. He was, after all, the most powerful Blood Prince among the vampires. Even the Dongzheng Emperor of the Northern Bear Country paled in comparison.

"Conquer the World!" Ye Fan swung the Yuanhong Sword, unleashing the Cross and Diagonal Sword Technique.

The moment he unleashed Conquer the World, the surrounding trees were blasted apart, creating a massive explosion more terrifying than any demolition charge. After the blast subsided, Prince Bao Feng realized that Ye Fan had vanished.

"Cunning fellow!" he said coldly.

He had expected Ye Fan to fight him to the death, but unexpectedly, Ye Fan had used the move as a feint to escape. This infuriated and disappointed him. It wasn’t that Ye Fan feared him; he had never shied away from a fight, even against a stronger enemy. This time, however, was an exception. He was worried about Luo Yazhi and the Dark Night Demon Queen, two women who were incredibly important to him. And right now, the two of them were not in Prince Bao Feng’s hands.

For this reason, he didn’t hesitate to break off the fight with Prince Bao Feng and rush toward the vampire stronghold.

At that moment, Prince Bao Feng examined the Bengyu in his hand. Suddenly, it cracked and shattered.

"A fake!" he roared, enraged. He threw the shattered fragments to the ground and bellowed, "King of Heaven, no matter where you run, I will hunt you down and tear you to pieces!"

The Bengyu had been crafted by Ye Fan. It did indeed carry the authentic aura of the real Bengyu, but that aura couldn’t last long.

He had now reached the depths of the gloomy, dense forest. If he had fought Prince Bao Feng to the end, he would have been gravely injured even if he managed to win. Therefore, he chose not to face the prince head-on. As long as he rescued the two women, settling the score with Prince Bao Feng could wait.

Ye Fan grew anxious. He wanted to survey his surroundings and tried to use King Hall’s satellite intelligence system, but to his great disappointment, there were no signals. The system was completely useless. A bitter feeling welled up within him. I guess I can only rely on myself to search.

The gloomy forest was vast, with extremely dense coverage. Finding the vampire base in this expansive wilderness was a task harder than scaling the heavens. He continued his search, heading in the direction with the strongest aura of blood.

Soon, he arrived at the bank of a river. There, he saw a woman.

She was a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, possessing a pure and innocent appearance tinged with a hint of aloofness. Her golden hair was especially dazzling. In Ye Fan’s eyes, this was the most beautiful Western woman he had ever seen. He would never believe that such a woman would just happen to be in these remote mountains. She must be a vampire!

With that thought, he approached cautiously. As he drew closer, he saw that the woman’s calf seemed to have been injured by a trap, and she was cleaning the wound.

Suddenly, she turned and saw Ye Fan, and a look of fear crossed her face.

Now that he’d been spotted, Ye Fan saw no reason to hide. He stepped out and asked, "Are you injured?"

"Who are you?" the woman asked, her expression panicked.

Why is she afraid of me? Ye Fan knew this wasn’t a simple matter. A woman’s appearance could be deceiving, after all—especially a woman like this, dressed in a plain white silk dress.

Ye Fan said, "The members of the Vampire Clan are a cunning lot. You’re trying to lure me in so you can drain my blood, right?"

He was speechless. Trying to lure me in a place like this? Anyone with a brain would know this woman isn’t as frail as she looks.
