Chapter 265: Chapter 264 The Falling Flowers Are Intentful

BANG!

Ye Fan swung a fist imbued with Pure Yang Power and struck the Mo Sect Guardian squarely in the back, sending him flying before he crashed hard onto the ground. The Mo Sect Guardian spat out a mouthful of black blood. He had integrated toxins into his very bloodstream to temper his body—a truly ruthless practice of his sect.

Weakly, he gasped, "So this is the power of the Emperor Level. I actually thought that with my exquisite poison arts, even an Emperor-level Master would be no match for me. But now I realize a King is just a King, and an Emperor is an Emperor. No matter how many tricks the former has, they are destined to be no match for an expert of the Emperor Level! King of Heaven," he snarled, "from this day forward, you are marked for death by my Mo Sect! We will have our revenge for this!"

He immediately turned and fled, but Ye Fan shouted after him, "Since we’re already enemies, you can just stay!"

Killing one more person meant one less enemy, especially a King-level expert like the Mo Sect Guardian. With that thought, Ye Fan rushed forward to finish the job. Meanwhile, Pang Hongyi and Rao Zhigang also tried to escape, but Ye Fan executed his Dragon Claw technique. The attack gravely injured them both, leaving them without even the strength to flee.

In the blink of an eye, Ye Fan caught up to the Mo Sect Guardian. Seeing Ye Fan closing in, the protector had no choice but to unleash his toxins in a desperate attempt to resist him and slow his advance. However, his potent poison had absolutely no effect on Ye Fan. Ye Fan landed another punch on his back, smashing the man down with such force that he broke a bridge in half.

PFFT!

This time, the Mo Sect Guardian felt as if his body had been pierced through. It was the first time in his entire career that he had suffered such a life-threatening injury. He staggered to his feet, only for Ye Fan to close the distance in an instant and clamp a hand around his neck.

The Mo Sect Guardian, retaining a shred of defiance, said coldly, "You’ve won."

"And?" Ye Fan asked dismissively. He felt nothing but contempt for the Mo Sect Guardian. The man was arrogant just because he was a poison expert from a powerful sect and, relying on the Mo Sect for backing, looked down on all the world’s heroes. In Ye Fan’s mind, the man was already condemned to death.

Just then, the Mo Sect Guardian said mockingly, "You don’t dare to kill me!"

"Oh? Give me one reason why I wouldn’t dare," Ye Fan said, his voice like ice.

"Because the Mo Sect has my back," he declared, filled with unshakeable confidence. "Tell me, who in this world doesn’t fear the Mo Sect? If you let me go now and apologize, my sect might just spare you!"

"You think far too highly of the Mo Sect. What does it amount to in my eyes?" Ye Fan said simply.

"You’ve guessed wrong!" Ye Fan shouted. With a quick clench of his fingers, he snapped the Mo Sect Guardian’s throat. Until the moment of his death, the Guardian couldn’t believe there was a Martial Artist in the world who would so utterly disregard the Mo Sect.

Clearly, Ye Fan was such a person. It wasn’t that he underestimated the Mo Sect, but that he had always lived by a simple principle: he wouldn’t bother those who didn’t bother him. If the Mo Sect truly dared to provoke him, he wouldn’t mind making another enemy. The Mo Sect might be unparalleled in its poison arts, but could it be stronger than the transcendent Divine Dragon? That organization was filled with countless masters. The Divine Dragon was infinitely more fearsome than the Mo Sect, yet in all these years, Ye Fan had never once been afraid of that otherworldly power. Moreover, he had just broken through to the Emperor Level. If the Mo Sect really dared to come knocking, he would make them understand the true meaning of regret.

He turned and walked back to the dark and quiet square. The heavily injured Rao Zhigang and Pang Hongyi were being restrained by Gongsun Shengheng’s men, now little more than prisoners.

"King of Heaven, you can’t kill us!" Rao Zhigang bellowed. "Our two families are not weak, and with the Mo Sect behind us, do you dare to act so recklessly?" He was convinced Ye Fan wouldn’t dare to kill them. After all, they were connected to the entire Mo Sect. Even if their own families weren’t top-tier, the Mo Sect’s name alone was enough to resolve any questions.

"You still overestimate the Mo Sect," Ye Fan merely replied. "I killed their Guardian without a second thought. What makes you two any different?"

With a wave of his hand, a powerful surge of energy descended, and the two men were instantly decapitated. Gongsun Shengheng was horrified, completely shaken by Ye Fan’s decisive and brutal actions. If he had shown this kind of ruthless decisiveness when we were scheming against him, we would have been long dead by now.

Gongsun Linglong was equally shocked. So the rumors were true. The King of Heaven really is a demon in battle. When he decides to kill, he shows no regard for the consequences. It fits his cold-hearted persona perfectly. However, she also believed that such a man—one who could take charge and let go when needed—was a man of true steel.

For some reason, as Gongsun Linglong gazed at Ye Fan’s handsome and resolute face, a hint of fascination flickered in her beautiful eyes. Perhaps it was due to everything they had been through together.

Ye Fan picked up his coat and said, "I’ll leave the cleanup to you. I alone will take full responsibility for the men I killed today. Even if their backers from the Mo Sect come looking for revenge, just give them my name!"

He was clearly ready to leave. He had intended to depart today anyway but had been delayed. Killing those three hadn’t been entirely his fault. Perhaps this was the reality of the martial world: once you were in it, your actions were no longer your own.

"Mr. Ye!" Gongsun Linglong suddenly called out.

Ye Fan turned. "What is it?" Why is she calling out to me? Is she planning to scheme against me again?

"Mr. Ye, thank you!" she said.

"I only did what was right. I couldn’t just stand by and ignore the descendants of an old friend," Ye Fan replied.

"Mr. Ye," she said, "could you please come back with us and explain what happened? Otherwise, our Ancestor will think we’ve caused trouble again."

Ye Fan was initially going to refuse, but on second thought, he agreed it made sense. He should go back and explain things. Besides, when it came to killing, he never had any regrets. He had no regrets in the past, he had none now, and he would have none in the future.

Gongsun Linglong was overjoyed. Gongsun Shengheng, however, just felt that Ye Fan was on another level entirely. He’s too outstanding. Even if I struggle my whole life, I’ll never reach his current stature. This was the gap between them. His own background was nobler, but success wasn’t decided by birth alone.

In the car, Gongsun Linglong gazed at Ye Fan with eyes full of adoration, completely enchanted. He really is the most outstanding man there is.

Perhaps it was the effect of the alcohol, but she suddenly felt dizzy and fell into Ye Fan’s arms. Feeling helpless, Ye Fan could only push her upright again.

Gongsun Linglong seemed displeased. You blockhead! I’ve made my feelings so obvious, how can you still not get it?! 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

However, what she didn’t know was that Ye Fan was well aware of the beautiful woman’s feelings for him; he was simply doing his best to keep his distance. After all, while the King of Heaven was passionate, he was not promiscuous. For Ye Fan, his feelings for Gongsun Linglong were still a long way from becoming genuine.
