Chapter 1070: Chapter 1069: Offense
Ba Lv muttered a few words. She had just been about to lie back down when the Flaming Firebird screeched right in her ear. Ba Lv couldn’t take it anymore, grabbed a pillow and chucked it over, but the Flaming Firebird was already prepared and blocked it with a flap of its wing.
"" The Flaming Firebird declared victory. Not only did it screech louder, it even took off and fluttered its wings gently at Ba Lv.
The nap was officially doomed. Ba Lv had no choice but to crawl up. She rubbed her eyes and grumbled, "Fine, you win this time! Next time don’t let me catch you sleeping!"
The Flaming Firebird landed in front of her, stretched out its neck, and handed a piece of paper to Ba Lvluo with its beak.
Pfft, I’m dead. After reading it, Ba Lv collapsed back onto the bed in defeat.
The note was very clear: Ba Lv had to go to the spaceship and get the relevant staff to fill the ship up with fuel.
It was Jiang Cheng’s handwriting, her teacher’s. Ba Lv didn’t dare slack off. She casually stuffed a few bites of food into her mouth, then hurried out to take care of the task Jiang Cheng had given her.
Refueling was actually really simple; Ba Lv was just being lazy.
All she had to do was buy the fuel, pay up, then wait for the staff to automatically load it into the back of the ship, and that was that.
While Ba Lvluo was there waiting for the staff to come refuel the ship, someone walked over.
"This your ship?" that voice asked.
Ba Lv raised her head, both of them recognizing each other at the same time.
Turns out this guy was from the ship that had raced her yesterday.
"What a coincidence, it really is you." The guy laughed awkwardly. "Yesterday we told you to wait and race again, why didn’t you wait?"
"Even if we raced again, you’d still lose." Ba Lv didn’t even look at him properly. Her eyes were scanning around for any staff who might refuel her ship.
Damn it, the people here were way too inefficient. She was totally going to file a complaint.
"C-can you come with me for a bit?" the guy said to Ba Lv. "It won’t take up too much of your time."
Ba Lv gave him a glance. "Look." She shoved the receipt in her hand right up under his nose. "I’m busy. I’m waiting for someone to come refuel my ship."
"Nobody’s coming right away anyway. Just come with me first, it really won’t delay you long." The guy pressed her again.
For this kind of selfish type who only wants others to meet his needs and never considers anyone else, Ba Lvluo didn’t even feel like sparing a proper look.
"Scram." That was Ba Lvluo’s answer.
"Okay, okay, I’ll go." The guy could tell this girl in front of him had zero intention of humoring him. Helpless, he stepped aside and pulled out a small comm device.
"Hey, boss, I’m here. Yeah, yeah, but I need you to come over. Yeah, yeah, I get it. Okay, okay."
No one knew what the two of them were talking about, and Ba Lvluo didn’t want to know. Right now she just wanted the staff to hurry up and finish refueling. Otherwise her teacher and Yanran would once again assume she’d delayed everything because she overslept.
Even if she had, like, once or twice... a few times... hmm, quite a few times, that still wasn’t entirely her fault, right?
If someone was born being this good at sleeping, what could she do about it?
However, the staff Ba Lv was waiting for never showed up; instead, she got a whole group of uninvited guests.
The guy who’d just spoken to her raised his hand and shouted, "Boss!" Then he led a bunch of people over. He said something to one of them, and while he talked he pointed in Ba Lv’s direction.
Ba Lv was a killer—and a very strong one at that. A lot of people got fooled by her harmless, baby-face appearance and thought she was innocent and quirky, just some little weirdo of a girl.
As for those people’s opinions, Ba Lvluo only sneered inwardly. These people still judged others by looks? The stupidity was off the charts.
That group walked straight toward Ba Lvluo.
"Hey, you." One of them spoke, hands shoved in his pockets, looking at Ba Lvluo as he talked.
The moment this guy appeared, Ba Lv took a good, clean look at his face.
He was tall, well-built, and pretty handsome for a young man—unfortunately, the exposed skin on his hands and arms was covered in all kinds of messy tattoos. Add that to the cold, "I’m-so-cool" look he clearly thought he was pulling off, and Ba Lv’s appetite vanished instantly.
Ba Lv turned her head away.
While Ba Lv was waiting for the ship to be refueled, something weird had happened: that group of young people who’d raced her yesterday on the road were now looking for her.
When they found out Ba Lv was "busy," their boss came in person.
"Hey." That was this so-called boss’s way of saying hi.
A lot of people hate rude types, and Ba Lvluo was no exception.
Back when she was in the Black Exhaust Group, her status was high, her skills were top-notch. People didn’t exactly bow and scrape—that’d be exaggerating—but everyone spoke to her politely, that was for sure.
Probably because of that, Ba Lv was extremely disgusted by people with no manners.
So the moment she heard someone greet her like that, totally lacking basic courtesy, she snapped to attention.
No kidding, it’s not like Ba Lv has never seen the world. What kind of big shot hasn’t she seen before?
The boss was also taken aback. He hadn’t expected this girl from an Extraterrestrial Planet to have such presence.
There was no doubt Ba Lv was a beauty. If Yanran’s looks were more of the classical kind, then Ba Lv’s beauty was the modern type.
Long, thick brows, a pair of large eyes, a small, delicate nose, a perfectly sized mouth, all framed by waist-length golden hair.
She could definitely catch the eyes of the vast majority of people.
The boss in front of her was clearly stunned by Ba Lv’s gorgeous face. He didn’t snap out of it until the people next to him coughed and coughed, practically hacking their lungs out.
Then he finally noticed the fury burning in the beautiful girl’s eyes.
Ba Lvluo knew she was good-looking—and not in an average way—so when people looked at her, she didn’t automatically assume they were being offensive.
It was normal. She herself liked looking at beautiful things. So if someone liked looking at her, what was wrong with that?
But she absolutely hated guys who stared with that gross, lecherous, piggy expression!
And this so-called boss in front of her was exactly that. Just look at him, drooling all over himself—no, correction, the drool was already dripping.
It was beyond disgusting.
Ba Lv glared at him. She’d seen plenty of people lose composure over her looks, but no one was as over-the-top as this guy.
When the boss finally came back to his senses, his face flushed red. He was genuinely embarrassed. It’s not like he had never seen beautiful women before, but for some reason, this girl from another planet had completely made him lose it.
"You, I have something to ask you," the boss said awkwardly.
"I hate people with no manners, so until you learn some, don’t ask me anything. Thanks." Ba Lv’s words were fast and sharp, slamming straight into the boss’s attempted question.
"Hahahaha!" The young guys standing around him from Zhou Country couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.
