Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Confrontational Mabel Sean
I shoved food into my mouth while watching the bodyguards.
"Move aside for Miss, she needs photos! Quit talking and get out of the way!" the bodyguard snapped.
Mabel Sean smirked. "What kind of Miss acts so high and mighty, needing people to clear space for photos? Who gave you that kind of power?"
The bodyguard was about to blow up when a guy in a white suit walked over.
He waved his hand with a slight smile. "Let’s stay polite to avoid trouble."
"Got it, Rowan," the bodyguard nodded fast.
The man called Rowan stepped up to Mabel Sean, pulled out a thick roll of cash, and said coolly, "You want money, right? Here’s 10,000. Enough?"
Rowan tossed the money on the ground and waved his hand.
Watching Rowan’s attitude, Mabel Sean and I couldn’t help but laugh.
"I’ll give you 20,000 to go eat shit in the bathroom. How’s that sound?" I said, unable to hold back.
"Ugh, I’m eating! Can you not mention gross stuff?" Mabel Sean shot me a look.
Before I could answer, Mabel Sean grumbled, "But yeah, you’re right. These people are disgusting enough already, ruining my appetite..."
Hearing our conversation, Rowan’s face darkened.
He glared and said, "You don’t know good treatment when you see it. Now you get nothing!"
Rowan waved his hand and said coldly, "Clear them out!"
A few bodyguards moved toward Mabel Sean right away.
One of them made a fist and said coldly, "Don’t blame us for getting rough!"
Just as the bodyguard was about to grab Mabel, his hand stopped in mid-air!
Anyone could see I was using chopsticks to clamp down hard on the bodyguard’s wrist!
"Don’t put your dirty hands on Miss Sean," I said coldly.
The bodyguard’s face went pale, and no matter how much he struggled, he couldn’t break free!
"What’s taking so long? Quit wasting time!" Rowan frowned.
"Ca...Rowan, my hand won’t move..." the bodyguard said through gritted teeth.
Rowan’s eyebrows knitted together, and he snorted. "Useless. All of you, go!"
"Yes sir!"
Four or five bodyguards rushed at me!
They were big and strong with incredibly powerful punches!
But against me, they were no threat!
I moved forward casually, like I was taking a walk, slipping between them.
Every time I reached out, another guy hit the ground!
In under two minutes, all seven or eight bodyguards were down, groaning!
Rowan’s face got even uglier. He hadn’t expected my fighting skills to be this good!
"Get lost and stop bugging us while we eat," I said flatly, staring Rowan down.
Rowan clenched his teeth. "You’ll regret this!"
Rowan walked away and rejoined the girl he was with.
He whispered something to her, and they both left.
"Honestly, such bullies," Mabel Sean muttered.
I shrugged helplessly. "People like this are everywhere. Get some dirty money and think everyone has to bow down."
"Forget them. Let’s hurry up. The auction’s starting soon. Let’s wrap this up and go. We can’t waste more time," Mabel Sean said, wiping her mouth.
"Right!"
We got in our car and drove fast toward the auction.
——
South City Auction had a solid reputation in the area, and its influence had spread to nearby cities.
Even someone like Mabel Sean from Capital City knew about it, which showed how big and influential it was.
When Mason Raymond and Mabel Sean got there, countless luxury cars packed the parking lot.
Looking around, the whole parking area was full.
"Quite a crowd. Looks like today will be tough," I sighed.
Mabel Sean laughed. "Don’t overthink it."
I nodded, and we walked toward the auction building.
Two security guards stood at the entrance, and looking closer, I realized they were both Inner Strength Experts!
Their power wasn’t anything special, but having Inner Strength Experts handle security seemed pretty fancy.
As Mabel Sean and I approached the entrance, the two guards stopped us.
"Our auction requires an asset check. Only people with over 1 billion in assets can enter," the guards said with blank faces.
"1 billion? That’s a lot..." I sighed.
Luckily, I had the black card Jack Schultz gave me, which should work to get into a place like this.
"If you don’t have money, then don’t block the entrance. Just go back to your street food," a voice said from behind me.
I turned around. It was Rowan from the beach earlier.
Rowan sneered. "Do you even know where you are? People who come here have status and class. You guys eating street food have the nerve to show up?"
I frowned. "Do you have brain problems?"
Rowan didn’t get mad though. He ignored me and looked at Mabel Sean with a slight smile. "Miss, you’re so beautiful. How did you end up with a boyfriend who can only afford street food?"
Mabel Sean played with her hair and smiled. "What’s wrong with street food? At least we don’t eat shit in bathrooms like you do."
