Chapter 840: Chapter 840 A Plot To Kill

Elena Green thought for a moment before speaking. "Since they’re co-hosting the Exchange Meeting, they definitely know each other."

"But... whether their relationship is good or bad, I can’t say with certainty. To put it precisely, there’s no real distinction between good and bad relationships."

"What’s that supposed to mean?" I asked.

Elena Green clarified, "Every aristocratic family cares most about their own interests."

"Plus, the world’s resources are limited. Even the Mystic Realm’s resources are basically stolen from the human world."

"So while everything looks peaceful between the great families on the surface, they’re secretly competing and fighting each other."

I squinted and smirked. "So you’re saying if there’s enough profit involved, they’d turn into enemies?"

"Exactly. Every family works that way," Elena Green confirmed with a nod.

"Got it," I said, nodding back.

"Mason Raymond, if you really want to get into the Exchange Meeting, I can secure you a spot as my apology," Elena Green said, standing up.

I chuckled. "Don’t bother. Just stay away from Mabel Sean and we’re good."

Elena Green smiled bitterly. "How could I possibly go after Mabel..."

"Fine, if there’s nothing else, you can go. I’ve got things to handle," I said, getting to my feet.

After Elena Green departed, I pulled out my phone and dialed Claude Avalynn.

When the call went through, I said, "Mr. Avalynn, there’s something I want to talk about with you. Just the two of us, face to face."

Claude Avalynn hesitated briefly on the other end before agreeing.

...

The conversation went on for a full day.

I left in the morning and didn’t get back until evening.

For the following two days, I remained at the Martial Arts Academy.

I prepared tons of Dharma Treasures at the academy for use during the Exchange Meeting.

Before anyone realized it, the Exchange Meeting day had come.

On this bright morning, I stood at the Martial Arts Academy entrance, waiting for Claude Avalynn.

Ten minutes passed before a Mercedes-Benz van pulled up at the door.

"Mr. Raymond, hop in," Claude Avalynn said with a smile.

I gave him a slight nod and climbed into the vehicle.

The van slowly pulled away, and in no time, it had left Capital City and reached a remote, empty area.

Many people were already gathered there.

Among them were Elena Green, Pearson Bowman, and Zora Solomon.

Besides them, several elders I didn’t recognize were present.

They carried an ethereal presence and were probably Masters with specialized expertise.

After I stepped out of the car, I walked toward Elena Green and the others.

"Mason Raymond?" Everyone looked somewhat shocked to see me.

As I approached, Saumel Baton stepped forward and sneered, "What’re you doing here? Didn’t I tell you I wouldn’t give you a spot?"

"I brought him," Claude Avalynn said from the side.

Saumel Baton immediately put on a fake act and said, "Mr. Avalynn, what’s the meaning of this? This guy is my enemy."

Claude Avalynn smiled calmly. "He might be your enemy, but he’s not mine. Mason Raymond is an excellent Pill master, so naturally he should join the Exchange Meeting."

Saumel Baton snorted softly, though excitement flickered beneath his annoyed expression.

"Mason Raymond, how do you know Claude Avalynn?" Elena Green asked, looking surprised.

I brushed her off casually. "He came looking for me. I didn’t know him before that."

"Wow, not bad," Zora Solomon muttered.

I stayed silent, closing my eyes slightly and quietly waiting for the Mystic Realm to open.

Around thirty minutes later, light started flickering in front of everyone.

Then, an entrance materialized from thin air.

Two men stepped out from this Mystic Realm.

"Is this everyone?" The two men seemed a bit surprised seeing the small group.

Saumel Baton nodded. "Yeah, since this is the first Exchange Meeting, it’s better not to have too many people."

The two men didn’t say much more. They nodded and said, "Alright, follow us inside."

The group trailed behind these two men as they boldly entered the Mystic Realm.

The moment I stepped into the Mystic Realm, the entrance vanished.

As soon as I entered the Mystic Realm, a weird smell hit me.

This smell wasn’t like qi, but more like a stale, musty odor.

"What’s that smell?" Not just I noticed this strange scent - the others did too.

Saumel Baton glanced at them and said, "This is a deserted Mystic Realm. There aren’t any resources left, not even scraps."

"After all, you’re outsiders. Who knows if any of you have bad intentions."

This naturally upset the rest, especially Zora Solomon who coldly shot back, "Are all you Mystic Realm people this arrogant?"

Saumel Baton looked at Zora Solomon but didn’t say anything more.

Even though they came from the Mystic Realm, they didn’t want to anger these wealthy heirs from the secular world.

"The Exchange Meeting starts in three hours at the palace up ahead," Saumel Baton said, pointing forward.

"You can start getting ready."

Everyone stayed quiet and simply headed toward the palace location.

The group reached the palace.

This palace was equally run-down, with ruins and debris scattered all around.

Just like Saumel Baton had said, this Mystic Realm was completely abandoned. Forget about qi - even the trees were barely alive.

Right now in this palace, many people had already set up their trading booths.

"Are these people all from the Mystic Realm?" I asked, confused.

Elena Green nodded slightly. "They should be."

At first glance, there were at least dozens of people present.

The large number definitely surprised me.

"Are there really this many Mystic Realms in the world?" I frowned.

Elena Green explained, "Actually, the Mystic Realm isn’t as mysterious as you think. Many people travel back and forth between the Mystic Realm and human realm. Some even consider the Mystic Realm their home."

I nodded, showing I understood.

Then, I spread out my divine sense.

Suddenly, I picked up two strange energies!

This energy was identical to what I encountered in the Second Secret Realm!

"Martial Saint?!" Fear flashed across my face.

Saumel Baton standing nearby sneered. "Did you sense it? Now that you’re here, I might as well tell you - our Baton Family sent two Martial Saints!"

"Did you actually think Claude Avalynn valued your talent? What a joke! That was just my plan to trick you into the Mystic Realm and kill you!"
