Chapter 83: Chapter 83: The Furious Mason Raymond

That evening in River City was bound to be turbulent.

After such an incident occurred, Jasper Thompson lost all interest in eating and quickly departed River City following his goodbye to Carter Hill.

Meanwhile, Carter Hill trudged home with heavy steps.

Upon arriving, Xavier Hill lounged on the sofa, munching snacks while gaming, appearing completely at ease. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"Dad, what’s wrong?" Xavier asked without looking up.

Carter Hill glanced his way and mumbled quietly, "Mabel Sean got kidnapped. I have no clue who’s behind it..."

Upon hearing this, Xavier couldn’t suppress his laughter.

With a smug tone, he declared, "Dad, you’d never guess, right? I’m the one who did it!"

Carter’s brow creased deeply. "You can’t kid around about something like this."

Xavier quickly protested, "I’m serious! I warned you before—we needed to teach her a lesson!"

Carter, who had been seated on the couch, shot to his feet.

He glared intensely at Xavier, his voice shaking. "Did... did you really do this?"

"Absolutely, no doubt about it!" Xavier said, thumping his chest confidently.

Upon hearing this confirmation, Carter’s hand flew up and struck Xavier hard across the face!

"Have you lost your damn mind? Don’t you understand what kind of person Mabel Sean is!" Carter stared furiously at Xavier, his frame trembling slightly.

Xavier clutched his cheek and shouted angrily, "Dad, you... you actually struck me? You’ve never laid a hand on me my entire life!"

"I damn well want to strangle you right now!" Carter snarled through clenched teeth.

"You just had to cause trouble! You have zero idea what the fallout will be from messing with Mabel Sean!" Carter raged.

Yet Xavier remained nonchalant as he sneered, "Dad, why are you panicking? I’ve already set up a fall guy. My scheme is bulletproof!"

Xavier then explained to Carter exactly how he’d executed the entire operation.

After listening, Carter was drenched in sweat.

Bulletproof? The plan was riddled with holes!

"You’re such a damn fool!" Carter hissed through gritted teeth.

He began pacing frantically around the room as panic and dread consumed his thoughts.

Never before had Carter experienced such overwhelming terror.

But his businessman’s instincts eventually helped him regain composure.

Carter jabbed his finger at Xavier and commanded, "Find someone immediately to eliminate Harvey Brown! We can’t risk him ratting us out!"

"Dad, Harvey Brown is trustworthy—he won’t betray us," Xavier muttered.

"Cut the crap!" Carter nearly fainted from rage.

"Only dead men keep secrets. If he sells us out, the Sean family will destroy us even without proof!" Carter said icily.

"Move now, this instant! Once it’s finished, we’re heading back to Shiglance City tonight!" Carter declared coldly.

Left with no alternative, Xavier gave a reluctant nod.

Meanwhile, I had already reached the Sean family’s estate.

In the massive compound, only one secretary remained.

The moment I walked in, the secretary snapped angrily, "This is all your fault! Miss sent every bodyguard to protect you because she feared for your safety! You bastard, you’ll get our Miss killed eventually!"

I stood frozen. I stared at the secretary in shock and asked with a trembling voice, "Is... what you’re saying true?"

"Of course!" the secretary replied coldly.

"I’m warning you—I’ve already notified Master about this situation."

"If Miss loses even a single hair, you’d better prepare to die!" the secretary said icily.

My expression turned grim. I never imagined Mabel Sean would dispatch all her bodyguards to my side!

What’s worse, I hadn’t even realized it!

My heart churned with conflicting emotions, and I felt like slapping myself.

However, this wasn’t the time for self-pity—the crucial thing was locating Mabel Sean quickly and ensuring her safety.

"Take me to Miss Sean’s room right now," I said to the secretary urgently.

The secretary responded coldly, "What are you planning to do?"

"I know how to find her! Hurry and show me the way!" I practically shouted these words.

The secretary clenched his teeth and said frigidly, "Come with me."

We rushed to Mabel Sean’s bedroom.

The instant I entered, I started moving around Mabel’s bed.

"What are you doing?" the secretary asked, frowning.

"Where’s the hair?" I asked frantically.

The secretary scoffed, "Miss Sean’s room gets cleaned daily—how could there be any hair?"

I panicked, grabbing the secretary’s arm and saying desperately, "Quick, find me a strand of Miss Sean’s hair right now!"

Seeing my distress, the secretary didn’t dare question me further.

"Stay put," the secretary said with a cold snort.

I paced anxiously around the room, sweat beading from stress.

Rage and remorse filled my heart, intensifying my agitation.

At last, the secretary returned carrying several hair strands.

"Mason Raymond, what exactly are you attempting to do?" the secretary asked with a stern expression.

Rather than responding to his question, I asked, "Are you certain this is Miss Sean’s hair?"

"Obviously," the secretary replied irritably.

I nodded and gestured, "Leave me alone for now."

"What the hell are you up to!" The secretary grew more confused by my behavior.

"Get out!" I roared in fury.

The secretary ground his teeth, and while enraged, he held back from exploding.

After the secretary departed, I picked up one hair strand.

I drew a deep breath, then bit my finger, flicking a blood droplet into the air.

Simultaneously, my finger began glowing with a dark red light.

The glow rapidly surrounded the hair and rose into the air, combining with the blood drop.

This was a forbidden method my father had left in his legacy, causing serious bodily damage and potentially harming my future cultivation.

But right now, I didn’t care about the consequences. As long as I could locate Mabel Sean, I’d do anything.

The air reeked of blood, and the crimson glow lit up the entire room like a beacon.

"Puff!"

I coughed up blood, and cold sweat covered my forehead.

Several minutes passed before my eyes snapped open suddenly.

The room’s light quickly faded.

Everything became still once more.

I stood up, my eyes blazing with murderous intent.

Then I turned and headed out of the room.

The secretary was waiting by the door. The second he saw me, he asked, "Where are you headed?"

I glanced at him and said coldly, "I’ve located Miss Sean. I’ll bring her back unharmed."

"You found her?" The secretary looked stunned.

He wanted to ask more, but I was already striding toward the exit and driving away from the Sean family’s estate.
