Chapter 825: Chapter 825 No More Martial Saints

Only a few simple words were written on it: Modern History of Martial Arts.

The book was printed, showing it was put together by people who came later.

The book was thin, just a few dozen pages.

Compared to the other three books, this one looked pretty slim.

"Seems like martial arts history really has been rough lately." I couldn’t help shaking my head.

Not wanting to waste more time, I opened the first page.

The author’s name caught my eye first.

The author was named Piedmont, and that’s all the info they gave.

I found a corner to sit down with the book and started reading carefully.

The book wasn’t big, but it covered everything in detail.

Every event—big or small—from two hundred years ago up to twenty years ago was written down without missing anything.

I spent three whole hours reading but still couldn’t find anything about my father.

"That’s weird," I frowned.

From what Jerry Sean and Dimitri Brynlee told me, my father was a top expert who left a big mark in modern martial arts history.

But now I couldn’t find any records of my father, not even one mention of the Raymond name.

I stayed quiet for a bit before keeping on reading.

It was late at night now, and those well-dressed young guys on the first floor had gone to bed ages ago.

But I was still buried in the book.

That’s when I saw something important:

About a hundred years ago, there were Martial Saints in the world.

The Capital City Martial Arts Association had already started forming back then.

They controlled most of the Martial Saints from that time and basically had the whole martial arts world in their grip.

But the Martial Saints had huge influence, and just one Martial Saint could really mess with a country’s situation!

The Capital City Martial Arts Association controlling such powerful people naturally led to disaster.

This went on until seventy years ago.

The Capital City Martial Arts Association got more and more powerful and greedy.

Right at this crucial moment, a guy calling himself the Guardian killed over thirty Martial Saints from the Capital City Martial Arts Association in one shot!

Reading this, I couldn’t help but gasp.

He killed over thirty Martial Saints at once? How strong would someone have to be to pull that off!

"Who’s this Guardian... what’s he protecting?" I couldn’t help being curious.

I kept reading; the book didn’t say much about the Guardian. But reading between the lines, it was clear the Guardian was way stronger than the Martial Saints.

"His simple movement made darkness cover the sky and all ten Martial Saints died."

"Three days straight, thirty Martial Saints were killed."

These two lines proved how much the Guardian dominated the Martial Saints.

I muttered to myself: "Could it be the Guardian’s existence that made the Martial Saints retreat to the Mystic Realm?"

But something felt off to me.

No Martial Saints had been born lately. Since then, not a single Martial Saint had shown up.

Sure, the Guardian could kill living Martial Saints, but how could he stop future ones from reaching the Martial Saint Realm?

"Could he actually be keeping martial artists below the Martial Saint Realm?" I whispered to myself.

This seemed almost impossible.

If it were true, the Guardian wouldn’t be human anymore but part of the Path of Heaven itself.

"There’s got to be another reason," I thought to myself.

I put my head down and kept reading.

After that, the Capital City Martial Arts Association’s power got cut down, and they didn’t have any Martial Saints in their group anymore.

Even so, the Capital City Martial Arts Association stayed the strongest organization in the martial arts world.

As technology developed, the Capital City Martial Arts Association started changing big time, desperately trying to get official status in the martial arts world.

Over the next few decades, the Capital City Martial Arts Association had dozens of Marquis!

Some of them even reached the Half-step Martial Sage Realm.

"After reaching Half-step Martial Sage, even with treasure support, moving up to the Martial Saint Realm is still impossible."

"Despite trying everything, the association couldn’t figure out why."

Reading this, I shook my head: "Looks like even the Capital City Martial Arts Association couldn’t find the reason."

Obviously, they’d tried to get someone into the Martial Saint Realm but failed.

"They tried having him train in the Mystic Realm, but even that couldn’t help him reach the Martial Saint Realm." A passage further down caught my attention.

This really surprised me.

"Does this mean... even after training in the Mystic Realm, a Half-step Martial Sage can’t advance to the Martial Saint Realm?!" I looked shocked.

Does this mean Garcia Coleman and the others also can’t step into the Martial Saint Realm?!

And the existing Martial Saints like Jensen Coleman, were they all people from a hundred years ago? They were Martial Saints a hundred years ago?

"What the hell is causing this?!" I got more and more surprised.

If that was the case, qi depletion definitely wasn’t the cause.

Because in the Mystic Realm, there was plenty of qi.

"No wonder people say Marquis are the strongest in the world," I thought to myself.

After that, I read through the whole book.

Besides this info, I wasn’t interested in the rest.

A lot of the character and event records were beyond what I could understand.

I returned the book.

I touched my chin and muttered: "So, no one in this time, whoever they are, can step into the Martial Saint Realm."

"And the Martial Saints controlled by the Capital City Martial Arts Association don’t dare show themselves because the Guardian exists."

I remembered what the Pavilion Master said.

He’d said I would be the one to break this deadlock.

"If I really do step into the Martial Saint Realm, then I’d be the only one to do it in the past century," I thought to myself.

By now, daybreak was here.

I didn’t dare waste any more time. I put the book away and kept flipping through the other three, hoping to find some info about the masked woman. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

According to the guy with the mustache, the masked woman showed up ten thousand years ago.

So I picked up the oldest book.

Unfortunately, the characters written in this book were all in some weird script I couldn’t read.

With no choice, I put down the book and picked the one about martial arts history from five thousand years ago.

Even though the text in this book was complicated, I could figure it out because I’d studied ancient language in college.

I gently opened the book and quickly flipped through the pages, hoping to find anything related to the masked woman.

About an hour later, I finally found a record about the masked woman.

"Her figure is amazing, her beauty unmatched; masked by a demonic figure, she kills without mercy."

This one sentence caught my attention.
