Chapter 807: Chapter 807 The Stage Is Set

When our eyes locked, Leigh Simpson strode quickly toward me.

"You’re Mason Raymond?" Leigh Simpson sized me up and down.

I nodded. "Yeah."

Without wasting words, Leigh Simpson simply asked, "When do we kick this thing off?"

"As soon as possible," I replied.

Every second counted for me.

After a brief pause, Leigh Simpson said, "We move tonight. You’ll guide us."

"Got it," I agreed right away.

I was about to bring Leigh Simpson back to my place.

But Leigh Simpson shook his head. "I’ve got business to handle first. I’ll reach out tonight."

With that, Leigh Simpson spun around and walked away.

Watching Leigh Simpson’s back as he left, I considered for a moment, then quietly tailed him.

...

By noon, I finally made it back home.

The man with the mustache asked, "How’d it go?"

I took a gulp of water and smirked. "Fine. The Michelle Sect definitely sent someone, but whether they can crack open the Mystic Realm is anybody’s guess."

The man with the mustache continued, "The Michelle Sect might not pack the same punch as the Capital City Martial Arts Association, but you can’t underestimate their roots. They’ve got plenty of secret techniques under their belt."

I looked at the man with the mustache. "That’s another reason why the Capital City Martial Arts Association wants to wipe out the Michelle Sect, isn’t it?"

"Beats me," the man with the mustache shook his head.

"Is there really any clear right or wrong in messy situations like this?"

I stayed quiet and didn’t say anything else.

For the rest of the day, I hung around the house, waiting for Leigh Simpson to show up.

When night fell, Leigh Simpson called me.

He said over the phone, "Eleven tonight, meet me at the Capital City Martial Arts Association. Get ready - you’ll need to figure out how to get us inside."

"Alright," I agreed and ended the call.

Then I pulled out my phone and dialed Phoebe Billy.

"Tonight, I need to get into the Capital City Martial Arts Association, and I’m bringing a friend," I told him.

Phoebe Billy immediately sounded worried and frowned. "Mason, have you lost your mind? The Capital City Martial Arts Association is locked down tight, and with your special status, how am I supposed to get you in?"

"Work it out," I said coldly.

"Phoebe Billy, whatever it takes, you’ve got to help me with this. Because... this means everything to me."

Hearing my serious tone, Phoebe Billy couldn’t help but frown.

"But... if Ms. Zackary catches wind of this, we’re in deep trouble," Phoebe Billy said, still frowning.

I went quiet for a moment, then said, "I’ll find a way to keep Ms. Zackary busy."

"Fine," Phoebe Billy finally agreed to help.

Right now, at the Capital City Martial Arts Association, Phoebe Billy wasn’t scared of anyone except Ms. Zackary.

After hanging up, I closed my eyes slightly, waiting for the right time.

I turned to Leticia and whispered, "Do you want Ms. Zackary dead?"

When he heard my question, Leticia’s expression changed completely.

He stared at me and said, "If you dare harm Ms. Zackary, I’ll kill you!"

"Ms. Zackary treats you like her own son, and I bet you’ve thought of her as your mother for a long time," I mused.

Leticia snorted coldly. "What exactly are you getting at?"

I said, "If you don’t want Ms. Zackary to die, tell me where to find a Spirit Core."

"Of course, you can choose to keep quiet, but then I’ll kill Ms. Zackary," my voice suddenly turned ice-cold.

Conflict flashed across Leticia’s face.

He didn’t want to tell me, but if anything happened to Ms. Zackary, he’d rather be dead.

"You might want to check out the Three-Island Sea," Leticia said reluctantly.

I patted Leticia’s head. "Good."

With that, I went to find the man with the mustache.

Walking out of the house with him, I said, "You need to help me with something tonight."

The man with the mustache scowled. "What’s that?"

I declared seriously, "At ten tonight, take Leticia to the outskirts of Capital City and hand him over to Ms. Zackary."

"Remember, you need to stall for time - the longer, the better," I instructed.

The man with the mustache scratched his head. "Why?"

"No more questions," I said.

After setting everything up, I let out a long breath.

I couldn’t help but pull out a cigarette and stick it in my mouth.

"Finally, the day’s here," I whispered to myself.

Leticia, Ms. Zackary, and the Michelle Sect had all played their parts.

My plan could now move forward.

Nine in the evening.

The man with the mustache left the house early with Leticia, heading toward a place called Swallow City on the outskirts of Capital City.

At ten o’clock, I grabbed my phone and called Ms. Zackary.

The call connected quickly, and I cut straight to the chase. "Ms. Zackary, do you still want to see Leticia?"

When she heard those words, Ms. Zackary’s voice immediately turned anxious.

"What are you planning to do?" Ms. Zackary asked impatiently.

I laughed. "Don’t worry. I’ve got some good news. If you still want to see Leticia, come to Swallow City in Capital City tonight at eleven. Someone will be there waiting for you."

"Swallow City?" Ms. Zackary’s pupils narrowed, and she said coldly and reluctantly, "Mason, you better not be playing games with me."

"Believe it or not, that’s your call," I said.

Without dragging it out, I hung up directly, no hesitation. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Meanwhile, Ms. Zackary tried calling me back, but I didn’t pick up.

Because I wanted to make Ms. Zackary anxious, forcing her to rush to Swallow City as fast as possible.

Everything went exactly as I expected. After my call, Ms. Zackary hurried off to Swallow City.

Eleven in the evening.

I showed up right on time in Swallow City.

I still had the hat Ms. Zackary gave me on my head.

As for Leigh Simpson, he was already waiting nearby.

Seeing me, Leigh Simpson quickly walked over.

"Everything’s set up, right?" he asked coldly.

I nodded. "Yeah, just don’t mess things up."

During our conversation, I quietly released my divine sense and swept the area around us.

Sensing the faint energy fluctuations nearby, a cold smile crossed my lips.

Just then, Phoebe Billy walked out of the Capital City Martial Arts Association.

Seeing Phoebe, I quickly headed toward him.

"Mason, who’s this guy?" Seeing Leigh Simpson beside me, Phoebe Billy’s face immediately showed wariness.

I glanced at Leigh Simpson and said calmly, "Don’t sweat it, he won’t spill anything."
