Chapter 788: Chapter 788 A Debt of Enormous Power

The finger released waves of killing intent, targeting my chest directly!

I stayed perfectly still, my expression cold and unmoved.

"Swoosh!"

The light rays hit my chest dead-on!

But the expected scene of my chest being torn open never happened—only a few white scratches appeared on my skin!

Mr. Brown’s face shifted, and he tried to back away, but it was too late!

I shot out my hand and seized Mr. Brown’s head, hoisting him up with raw strength!

Mr. Brown thrashed wildly, but he couldn’t break free at all!

"Mr. Brown, do we really need to keep this up?" I asked.

Mr. Brown writhed and bellowed, "This fight isn’t over!"

Seeing his stubbornness, I let out a tired breath.

I tightened my grip, and Mr. Brown’s skull felt like it was about to crack, complete with splitting sounds!

"Ah!!" The agony made Mr. Brown scream in pain!

The Maxwayne family stared in shock at what they were seeing!

So a Peak Form Military Marquis couldn’t even match me?!

"Okay, Mason, enough. Release Mr. Brown," Herman Maxwayne said quickly.

I let Mr. Brown go and dropped him carelessly to the side.

"See? I wasn’t lying to you guys," I said, opening my hands.

The Maxwayne family could only shake their heads with bitter smiles.

That kind of power was truly incredible.

"No surprise your Pavilion Master keeps singing your praises, claiming you’ll enter the Martial Saint realm..." Tilda Maxwayne said with a sigh.

"Enter the Martial Saint realm?" Herman Maxwayne’s eyebrows shot up.

Tilda Maxwayne smiled. "That’s right. The Pyro’s Medicine God Pavilion Master once mentioned that Mason Raymond could be the first person to reach the Martial Saint realm and shatter the stalemate."

This news caught Herman Maxwayne off guard.

Everyone knew that nobody had achieved the Martial Saint realm in countless years!

If I reached the Martial Saint realm in this era, I could rule the entire martial arts world!

"Mr. Maxwayne, giving me the Martial Saint power would definitely produce the best outcome. What’s your take?" I asked.

Herman Maxwayne rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Once you consume the Martial Saint power, it’s finished. What advantage does injecting it into your body offer?"

I thought it over, then replied, "Mr. Maxwayne, you all treasure the Martial Saint power to defend the Maxwayne family, correct?"

"Exactly," Herman Maxwayne confirmed.

I went on, "But the Martial Saint power only works once, meaning it can shield you guys just one time. If you have secret enemies, using the Martial Saint power might actually bring catastrophe."

"But if you hand me the Martial Saint power, everything changes. I would owe you an enormous debt. While I’m breathing, I can always guard the Maxwayne family."

At these words, the Maxwayne family looked at each other.

Clearly, they found the offer appealing.

If what Tilda said was accurate—that I would achieve the Martial Saint realm—then this bargain would pay off.

"How about you head back first and let us talk it over. Sound good?" Herman Maxwayne proposed.

I nodded. "Sure, no problem at all."

Right then, something crossed my mind.

"Oh, one more thing—can you hand over Colin Ava?" I asked.

"What do you need him for?" Herman Maxwayne looked puzzled.

I grinned. "He’ll be useful."

Without pressing for details, Herman Maxwayne nodded. "Fine by me. Someone will bring him to your room shortly."

"Thanks," I said with a nod.

Around ten minutes after I got back to my room, someone delivered Colin Ava.

The moment Colin spotted me, his face turned absolutely terrible.

"Mason... What are you planning?" Colin asked, trembling with fear.

I smiled. "Relax, I’m just curious about your spiritual fire."

"You... What are you getting at?!" Colin suddenly felt dread washing over him.

I said, "Your spiritual fire is purple, isn’t it?"

Colin backed up two steps. "What if it is, what if it’s not!"

I smirked. "I’ve never consumed a purple spiritual fire before... How about you give up the fire willingly, and I’ll let you live?"

"In your dreams!" Colin’s eyes blazed with fury.

"This purple spiritual fire is everything to me—you can’t have it!"

I sneered. "You think you get to say no?"

Colin clenched his teeth and laughed bitterly. "Then kill me! Even if you end my life, I won’t hand over the spiritual fire!"

My expression went ice-cold.

I stared down at Colin and said harshly, "I don’t absolutely need your spiritual fire. I’m offering you a way out."

But Colin stayed incredibly stubborn, his face set with determination.

"Man with the mustache, got any torture methods?" I asked.

The man with the mustache rubbed his hands together and grinned. "Plenty of options!"

He pulled out a jar nearly half a person’s height and set it before us.

"This is called the Dim Prison Jar. Legend says once you’re tossed inside, your body and soul both get brutally attacked," the man with the mustache explained.

"Nobody’s lasted ten hours in this Dim Prison Jar yet."

I gave a small nod. "Perfect."

With that, I flicked my finger and shattered Colin’s arms and legs.

Before Colin could even cry out, I hurled him into the Dim Prison Jar.

After stuffing Colin in the jar, I turned to the man with the mustache. "This thing actually work?"

The man with the mustache thumped his chest. "Trust me, he’ll be begging for mercy real soon!"

——

In the villa’s main hall.

Every member of the Maxwayne family had assembled.

"The Purple Flame Sect’s strength is beyond measure, and Mason Raymond really is the one," Herman Maxwayne said gravely.

"True, even if Mr. Brown got the Martial Saint power, he probably couldn’t deal with the Purple Flame Sect," another family member added.

"If we lose, we’re definitely facing something worse than death."

At this moment, Mr. Maxwayne spoke seriously, "Who can promise this Mason guy is trustworthy? What if he vanishes after taking the Martial Saint power?"

"That’s unlikely—the Medicine God Pavilion recommended him, after all," Tilda responded.

The Averys had solid faith in the Medicine God Pavilion.

"Tilda, why don’t you contact the Medicine God Pavilion Master and check?" Herman Maxwayne suggested.

Tilda Maxwayne agreed, pulled out her phone, and dialed the Pavilion Master.

Several minutes later, Tilda came back smiling.

She announced, "The Medicine God Pavilion Master said Mason is completely reliable. If something goes wrong, she’ll take full responsibility."

Everyone exchanged looks, apparently coming to an agreement.

Mr. Maxwayne slowly got to his feet.

He looked around at everyone and declared solemnly, "Let’s decide then. The Martial Saint power goes into Mason Raymond’s body."
